Dont let them pawn it off on dealers. I understand a lot of dealers do this and i get why thats infuriating but not all of them are like that.

What a mess! I drove by a Ford and Dodge dealership today. Both are LOADED with SUV's and Trucks. I didn't stop to check the sticker price for dealer markups but it must cost them a fortune to carry that much inventory. They took advantage of global events over the past 3-4 years and now they are (and should) pay the price even if it means some dealerships go out of business.

The stealerships are an absolute soul crushing prison shower experience that makes one have an uncontrollable need to take a shower after visiting one. Whether its sales, service, or parts, its the same total highest cost backside violation experience for the consumer. Ford's forcing dealership upgrades will only contribute to stealership markups as the stealerships will just pass on the costs to their customers. Ford itself massively increased their EV prices as well. Consumers are not buying their EVs anywhere near their own inflated overly optimistic propaganda would have one to believe. ICE vehicle sales are down and declining which are the divisions that keep Ford afloat. The EV division has lost about $6 billion in the last three years, and will continue to loose money for years to come. Given Ford's abundant piss poor management, I don't see things going well for them in the future.

Let's just wait and see. A good acid test for Ford dealerships and others. It will also be interesting to see how Sony/Honda sell their new Afeela in a few years.
I know, it's really unfair that Ford wants its dealers to deal fairly with Ford's customers - how dare they! - dealers should be allowed to fleece customers for every cent they can and still expect Ford to supply them with vehicles they can then use to fleece more customers, that's only fair.....
I think it’s great! Even though my wife and I drive Fords we will not by new Fords requiring the need of our Ford Dealership. They charge for service, parts, and everything they charge around 100% more than other reputable service centers. Ford is well known to overcharge and if required their service, you are apprehensive. To let Ford Dealerships dictate prices of Ford EVs!
Take away the franchise of the dealership if they do price gouging. Keep them accountable. You have to have dealerships. A car or truck is something one must physically see and touch before it is bought. The service afterward is very important to many people. If something is or goes wrong with the vehicle, it's nessecery to have a place where the vehicle can be taken. With Fords history of recalls, it should be obvious. This CEO is going to ruin Ford for middle class America.
Trying to purchase a vehicle from a dealer is a nightmare! Tesla has the correct way to sell vehicles in the 21st century. The dealers a small time operators, that are going away.
It's to bad that you can't buy them at a regular store or internet so when they ask you if you want an extended warranty and you say no they say ok and ring it up and it's over.
If dealers weren't such slime balls, it wouldn't be this way - glad to see that it's getting to be disrupted. We don't need dealers anymore. Tesla's model is genius.

Good move on Ford’s part to eliminate car dealerships for their electric cars. Dealership practices and cost overhead leave a distasteful experience for everyone.

Sadly working with multiple dealerships over my 40-year career I have seen train sales professionals that actually had three relationships with customers and lots of product knowledge replaced by paper pushers and Greenpeace sales people that don't know anything about their product I may not be there 6 months later
I have worked in the commercial truck and bus industry for almost 40 years. The vast industry changes are staggering however many of the negative comments directed towards dealers are unfair and mis-directed in my opinion. Jim Farley is being disingenuous when he blames dealers for price gouging. Jim Farley could easily rectify this situation by increasing production output. However, for whatever reason, Ford has not been able to do this, and so the market rebalances itself with higher prices for fewer goods. It’s a classic supply and demand situation. Maybe what we are all experiencing now is the manifestation of Americans who for decades have relied on long supply chains that have delivered cheap goods from overseas. I have been trying to figure out what is causing the shortages myself.
I remember when I worked at Ford Aerospace Communications Corporation in the 1980s and we could buy any Ford any Lincoln any Mercury A Plan Price which was better than all other pricing. MSRP on my 1987 T-Bird Sport EFI 5.0 V8 full loaded with moonroof was over 18k MSRP and A Plan Price was 12k plus I got a 6 year bumper to bumper unlimited mileage warranty for $600. Ford Dealers now days would freak out if I asked for A Plan Price 😂
Dealerships have laws on the books in many states that protect them. They will not just close up shop and leave. They will fight and they have a ton of money backing them up. Dealerships will be the final straw that breaks the Legacy Auto's back.
I find this video hilarious! This is just the beginning of the end for Ford dealerships and FORD itself. 1) Basically, Ford is already dead in the water by buying the batteries from a vendor because there goes your profits into somebody else's pocket. Never mind the battery tech is already inefficient and already can't compete with Tesla. That's the #1 company killer right there! 2) Ford dealerships are on such shaky ground already with their price markups and generally pirate mentality when it comes to customers. Ford doesn't want dealerships anymore and that's the bottom line. Funny thing is they need dealerships to fix their crappy ICE vehicles. There will be lawsuits galore before this gets ironed out(it won't), so just sit back and enjoy watching FORD's march to oblivion. Same thing will happen at GM!
Even if a stealership spent the million dollars to join the ev club I still would never go to one. At best Ford turns them into service center / vehicle test drive and delivery centers only, no sales.
This video is not telling everything that happened . Dealers were in a pinch with low inventory , the market dictated prices of new and used cars nationwide, not just on the Ford lots .

Maybe Ford should just go bankrupt to get out of their dealer relationships. They wouldn't have to try very hard. "New Ford" should sell all vehicles at MSRP out the door(or less).
Now, every Ford dealer has marked up every Raptor a minimum of $10,000 across the entire country. Raptor R $20,000. But then you get the people who buy and put them on ebay at incredible mark-ups. The same happened with the Challenger and Charger SRT’s, and the 2023 Corvettes. I am looking at anew Raptor but for now I will keep my 2020 and just wait. To stop this BS, ebay and the auto makers should not permit selling a car over its sticker price.
I praise forward for what they're trying to do and I wish them the best of luck. Because dealerships are bloodthirsty criminals that should be shut down permanently. I currently own a Toyota and I wish I would've had the ability to buy it directly through the website since I could have saved myself more than $10,000 plus if it was done through the website only.
If dealers service departments go, then private garages either spend money on the software and hardware for repairing Ford, GM, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Toyota....or they turn those customers away. Not just about the initial investment. Your mechanics will need ongoing training.
Honda started gouging customers in the 90’s charging 10K over msrp and they didn’t care if you walked. Sad to see so many Ford, Chevy, Dodge etc following suit. Greed has ruined the car or truck buying experience.
Even Toyota dealers are a rip off. Jacking up prices above MSRP is ridiculous. The proper prices is a few hundred dollars above the invoice price or about 10 -15% below the MSRP.
take a look at all the emerging brand after E-Commerce come to be , ditching the middle man is almost universally good for both the brand and the customers .. the hurdle had always been the serving and after sale maintenance / servicing but that should not be by any measure a issue with the automotive sector
Be careful what you wish for. By removing the dealership and dealing direct with the manufacturer don’t think for a minute that the vehicle will be less expensive. Tesla is the most profitable manufacturer because they keep the mark up right out of the gate. Dealing with manufacturers will be remote and your experience likely to be much worse then dealing with your dealership when issues present.
I will never buy a No-haggle priced vehicle. I refused to ever consider Saturn with their No-haggle pricing and apparently many others did as well, resulting in their demise. I have purchased new vehicles by negotiating for $500 over invoice. No-haggle pricing means that you are forced to pay MSRP. If forced to pay MSRP, I would switch to another make willing to negotiate despite being a Ford customer and enthusiast since 1974.
Ford dealer quotes $1700.00 for a 4 wheel brake job. A local independent shop charged $1150.00 for 4wheel rotors pads calipers pads hoses and fluid flush. This reason why people buy a vehicle from a dealer, they have to. So why should I back the dealer when the are under the gun. When you ride by a Casino with beautiful show rooms and gold glass, they have the cash I don't.
Wondering if new-car dealerships will ever go under, as long as the industry can make massive political campaign contributions, especially for yet more bailouts.
I refuse to buy from Ford. I only purchase new cars and expect them to last longer than a used car because I know how take care of them. This was not the case with two Fords purchased in 1995 and 1999. The 1995 Windstar had a V6 engine that blew head gaskets and the anti locking breaking system was always bad. The1999 F150 pickup was a rust bucket. The iron used by Ford was subpar and everything on this truck corroded, including the break lines, gas tank strap, and the rear axle housing. I have never had these problems with any other car. So until Ford replaces these cars it will not get a second chance. Both are still setting on the side of my driveway because no one would even take them for trade in with low mileage. Not even my Ford dealer. I was told "we will give you $500.00 to keep them".
Maybe you should upgrade your old crap. I'm sure Ford or anyone else for that matter is troubled with losing a customer that only buys a car every 25 years>LOL>

Dealers have their place in regards to service , parts, and customer relations, but sticking it to us consumers just because they can is too much and perhaps it's time for a Tesla style approach . Auto buyers already have to contend with record high prices for new and used cars and what is good for us will also benefit the industry.
The dealers claim that supply and demand economics were the reason for the markups. But when demand slides, they stay firm on markups and for vehicles being sold well above MSRP with dealer add-ons. Stealerships have already destroyed the reputation of their respective car brands. It would take a monumental effort to win back this destroyed trust.
The dealerships are NEEDED for service. The sales part is what needs fixing
Taking the greedy dealership out of the buying process gives the buyer huge savings, and is far less PAINFUL.
Car manufacturers don't have enough control over dealerships. A lot of these dealerships do more to hurt the manufacturer's reputation than to help it.
i work at a Ford dealership. We dont mark new vehicles up like this. Ford is lying to you, they want you to pay $70k for a new F150 and closer to $100k for an EV. Dont let them pawn it off on dealers. I understand a lot of dealers do this and i get why thats infuriating but not all of them are like that.
Why do people pay above MSRP? Is a Ford F-150 such a desirable thing? Really?
nope
It is, for those who want them and cost isn't a concern.
No idea but it's worst for Tesla's as they still have massive quality issues and very poor customer service and repairs
The modern-day EV is the answer to a question nobody asked. When was the last time you were at a gas station and people were complaining that it took about 5 minutes to fill up a tank??
Me either. 🤷🏻♂️
@@justacinnamonbun8658 The technology will improve. Should we really believe that people will be driving gas-powered vehicles in 50 years?
I was trying to buy a Maverick for $19,995, for two years. 😫
But the Dealer always had a 10k mark up or more.
Won't miss "Lemme talk to my manager"! There's clearly got to be a better way how we buy cars.
I'm still waiting for the 1976 F 100 6 cyl 3onthefloor I told my dealer I wanted.
I’ve always had Ford. I went back to get another vehicle for my family. They mentioned the market adjustment and I walked out straight to another brand of vehicle. Sad I couldn’t get my Ford. You can guess my thought on those Stealerships.
I bought a new 2020 F250 in 2020 because my son worked at the local dealership and I got a discount. But I know it will be the LAST new Ford I buy as by the time I'm ready to buy again, they'll have nothing but battery operated vehicles and I won't have one.
They went away from selling vehicles years ago, they are in the business of selling loans. That is why the prices are insane.
I’ve been trying to order a Ford Transit and it’s nothing but drama at the dealer….. bunch of fast food workers
I know there aren't a lot of choices but you will be very unsatisfied with that decision
I don’t believe the order banks are open.
Wanted a focus RS but the dirty dealer mark up put it out of reach. Literally knew 5 guys who would have bought one back then but nobody did due to the dealers. Car salesmen and dealerships are something we can definately live without get a real skill that actually does something other than make people spend more.
I hope they would close all dealers!!!! And manufacturer should own service centers. Sick of dealing with dealers.
I haven't bought a new car for a while now, but I love the service offered through Costco. A few cars ago, I bought a Toyota Sequoia when the scumbag dealers were marking them up, through Costco I got it under MSRP without the sales bullshit. I ordered my most recent Highlander that way as well. I still had to put up with the F&I douche, but I refused every single add on.
as a first time new car buyer my experience with dealership was a nightmare!
Dump them all, they are in collusion with corrupt politicians via lobbyist and anti buyer policies...
🤬'em all, I hate dealerships.
Ford is using a variation of an old saying: "Get them in for a penny, and then you pound them into submission"...or words to that effect...
Recently bought a new ModelY,what a refreshing process compared to the stealerships.Five emails, then we inspected the car and signed our loan papers in the car by our self’s.gave the Tesla store their copy’s and left. It’s a sweet way really to buy.The Y is fantastic .needed to get a minor service don they came to our house did it in about hour.Install level two in our garage ,no more dirty c stores with employees with bad attitudes.
The dealers are like parasites. Have you ever tried a cleanse? It’s so bad while they’re dying off. Great afterward though.
78 years old i hate dealerships especially the service departments dealer add on suck i talked to a dealer that wanted to charge extra for their special air in the tires .
The last three trucks I’ve purchased for my business have been used from private owners I’m done paying dealer markup
Not much difference between the dealership and a Realtors dealerships tell the salesperson to jack up the price as much as they can Realtors do it on their own constantly telling you there are five bids on the house so you can go higher now those are the real sleaze bags
Yeah! It's the American way!
The Dealerships don't care about the people only the money. And that is a proven fact, GREED IS KILLING THE CAR DEALERSHIPS.
LOL dealers have their local State Congressmen in their pocket and antiquated laws that REQUIRE dealerships to sell ICE vehicles to consumers.
It's to bad that you can't buy them at a regular store or internet so when they ask you if you want an extended warranty and you say no they say ok and ring it up and it's over.
GET RID OFF THE MIDDLEMAN!
Dealers also tell people that with an electric car you drive for two hours and then you have to stop and charge for 9 hours.
If dealers weren't such slime balls, it wouldn't be this way - glad to see that it's getting to be disrupted. We don't need dealers anymore. Tesla's model is genius.
Is anyone paying attention to the MSRP? And you think the dealerships are the only problem?
No.
And somehow people think dealing with an even bigger company (Ford instead of dealers) with even more power will yield a better customer experience 😂
Righttt. Prices are too high period!
screw the dealers whos been screwing the public
All that is required is a delivery and service center. Fully controlled by the manufacturer.
My local dealership, screwed with me each time I came in for even the simplest service. I just sold my Explorer (private party in another state) and purchased a new Subaru Outback. Bye FORD ~ Not, Buy FORD.
I would just like to go to Amazon, look at all models of cars/trucks along with a price.. Just like everything else I buy.... Then I would make a purchase and Amazon would deliver the car/truck to me.. Remember folks you heard it here first..
Good move on Ford’s part to eliminate car dealerships for their electric cars. Dealership practices and cost overhead leave a distasteful experience for everyone.
This is Great, For every EV owner and Future Buyers, It would come to a point where, every one would be working on other EV Brands and Chargers every where
A LOT of coke heads at these dealerships I’d rather not deal with.
Just a bunch of sleazy sales guy who can’t answer any questions on a car 🚗 you try to order.
I hope we can order directly and avoid all the drama
Sadly working with multiple dealerships over my 40-year career I have seen train sales professionals that actually had three relationships with customers and lots of product knowledge replaced by paper pushers and Greenpeace sales people that don't know anything about their product I may not be there 6 months later
when i saw a new raptor. with dealer mark up that brought the total purchase price to $212,000...i laughed and walked away and will never return
Just took delivery of my Model Y. Not having to go through a dealer was a major factor in my purchase decision
All dealerships should go , my experience buying s car online was the best experience
why do you think they call them Stealerships!
I mean, I've always wondered why vehicle manufacturers didn't sell straight to the customer... Cut out the middle man.
Adding charging infrastructure to dealer locations is an easy way to quickly rival Tesla's supercharger network.
Car dealers will never give a cent to benefit the customer......
Dealerships will be the final straw that breaks the Legacy Auto's back.
if you are a car dealership for a big Brand new cars, and Can't afford 10-20 ($50K/car) cars worth of investment your business is already failing...
The market and thousands of democrat welfare/bailout money to the right groups
And then when the inventory was available the prices didn't go down
@@connorhus
Well I don't think bailing out industries is a "democrat problem", the war industry is full of corporate welfare bums, and so is the banking industry. I agree, let them fail and sue the shit out of the executives whose reckless actions caused their companies to go under.
@@JB-yb4wn BAiling out industries is not what brought this on. It was vote buying stimulus and standard over paying government employees that caused all this.
@@ubeuonly of course not . I worked for a dealer for 30 years and customers always think the shop will screw them . The truth is In 30 years I never met 1 salesperson that wasn't a shyster . All of them lied everyday , all day .
Wonder when Ford will put enough margins in the EV vehicles to support building a separate sales point (as mandated by Ford), especially after mandating the remodel/new buildings just a few years ago.
Ordered Mustang GT 2024 today and they told me I will have to pay 4k markup(dealer tire and something else insurance that I cannot avoid) on top of the loaded 58k car.
Eff the Ford dealers.
Maybe Ford should just go bankrupt to get out of their dealer relationships. They wouldn't have to try very hard. "New Ford" should sell all vehicles at MSRP out the door(or less).
This is the 400th video about this, I'll believe it when I see it.
Who will do factory repairs and recall issues. I'm no fan of dealerships.
I sure am enjoying my 2022 Toyota Tundra that I paid sticker price for with no dealer markup.
I bought my Maverick at msrp I show on my channel. Ok...yes I know what you are thinking...it's not a truck. But I like it.
That you know of? Don't be so naive
Except in most states dealers have exclusive distributor agreements for the rest of the vehicles which most of us are still trying to buy.
I am with ford. The dealer was charging me almost 30 extra for a base bronco. Thank you but no
Be careful what you wish for.
I hate dealing with the dealership
The grid and infrastructure is not set up to take level 3 charger loads ... hence EVs will fail ...and fail BIG
Dealers have always been rip-off artists and many if not most totally dishonest for as long as I can remember and I am in my 60s. Good riddance!
Dealer service is the absolute worst. I do a lot of my own maintenance and repairs, keeping a lot of $$$ in my own pocket.
Wondering if new-car dealerships will ever go under, as long as the industry can make massive political campaign contributions, especially for yet more bailouts.
The dealerships are independently owned, so there are no bailouts for them. And Ford didn’t take the $.
@@bhazel69 I purchase a new car every year and give the old one to my kids. I would not give these Fords to my worst enemy. What a crap company. Even my first car in 1974 was a new American Motors AMX. I also recommend fleet cars for many large companies. Ford has also lost sales from my friends, relatives, and many others since. A reputation Is important and Ford has none.
I would really like if they made another CrownVictoria.. Cruiser Style Muscle Car but all Futuristic and Running!!
They deserve what is coming to them and Ford deserves to have their vehicles sit on dealer lots unsold for letting these dealers gouge customers for the last 2 years.
A current $3b loss on EV development at Ford. They’ll need to recoup that $ somewhere
