Heartbreak Hotel is my #1, Jailhouse Rock #2. I’d love to see you react to any early Elvis, especially if you can see him live. That’s the essence of Elvis, and that is amazing. If you can’t show a live reaction from his early years, I hope you’ll watch some Elvis on your own from the 1950s. Chuck Berry may have started rock and roll, but Elvis was not far behind.
Bear in mind, this was 1970. There were no monitors, no ear pieces, no autotune, nothin'. This was just feeding off of the audience, taking cues from the backing singers & the band for when to sing & when to move & pure, good ol' fashinoed hard work thru rehearsal after rehearsal after rehearsal to get it perfect & it don't come more perfect than this. This was Elvis at his absolute best.
No one could touch the man. He was the greatest of all-time. Had it all. The voice, the look, the moves, everything required to be a superstar. God rest his soul.
Elvis controls his band with his body movements, ho sets their pace, when they come in, everything. I don't think too many people pay attention to that.
When you know that they do all that it makes it so much more fun to watch!!!! Michael Jackson did the same thing, and so did Freddie Mercury!!!! It's just how they do it to keep it so seamless while performing!!!!
This was Elvis at his best IMO... He was feeling good, in good health, Exited about getting back into performing live after a 7 yr lay off while making movies... He gave it his all as he always did...
you have to watch the full concert, filmed over 6 days, his musicians do not take there eyes off him, they play to his moves, incredible performance, incredible Elvis i think at his very best
Perfect timing double clap with the drum, silver chains sparkle with the chest shimmy, microphone sound effect! Never have I ever seen another preformer brave enough to do that. Spirit of the music moves him and allows his body to express it. Firey performance. Looks like turnips when cooked. Love your reactions.
I saw him live in Louisville, KY when I was 16. Mom and dad bought my sister (13) and me tickets. He didn't disappoint!!! I'm 68 now and remember it well!
The sexiest man who's ever lived here, all I'm doing is oooooooooooooo, the man had everything, looks to die for, a beautiful voice and a beautiful soul. The KING is dead, long live the KING.
The concert was filmed over several evenings and they put together the ultimate Elvis concert. I think this is peak Elvis; not long after he returned to doing concerts after making movies. The concert footage, including rehearsals got me to understand why folks loved Elvis so much. Just an outstanding performer.

Elvis sets the bar so high for live performances period. Thank you for reacting to this! The gold standard for sure, loved this!🥰 Next? Burning Love would be good. But any song will do of course.
I'm so glad that young people have discovered Elvis. I'm from north Louisiana and ate polk salad when I was a kid in the 70s. E had more soul than he could CONTROL,!
I'm from Alabama... i always remember my dad sending me into the back fields to pick a mess of it... not the best greens but tasted ok with spices and bacon.
@@bsbncandey Elvis grew up in a black community, and had lots of black friends that he hung out with, during the time of rampant segregation in the south. He didn't give a rats ass what white people thought about that. Listen to Elvis singing in the Ghetto, and his tribute song to MLK Jr., which he recorded and released over his manager's objections.
Polk Salad is a real thing. As a kid raised in TN, we used to go pick a mess of Polk salad for my dad. He loved that stuff. I never got into eating it. I love the song. I love his moves. I grew up listening to Elvis - my first love in music. Still today, I love to listen to him. I was a teenager when he passed away. Such a sad day.
My mom went to Elvis concert when she was 15. Girls passed out and ambulances came. Mamma said poke salad was a poison green that you had cook just right. Big Texas Hugs y'all!
This is my favourite tune from Elivs I've played it a 1000 times and yes his moves are 100% on it, love the guys reactions to Elvis just ripping it up.
A great reaction! I absolutely love Elvis's high-energy performance of the song best! Elvis didn't do a studio recording, he only sang it during his live shows. Elvis flew TJW to Vegas to see him perform the song and hang out with him, TJW loved Elvis's version. They were both great.👍
Polk Salad is one of my favorites. But, of course, I have about 50 other absolute favorites that must be listened to. Just saw Elvis the movie. Brilliant. Lucky to see Elvis in Vegas in '75. Brilliant. Every song was like his last song, everything put into it. Your smiling faces tell how you feel about this amazing man. The Sweet Inspirations, The Stamps Quartet and Kathy Westmoreland, the girl with the high voice were so perfect.

Just in case you are interested, his back up singers were Kathy Westmoreland and The Sweet Inspirations! I had the pleasure of seeing Elvis with my Mom and girl friend at the time...three years before his death in Springfield Mass. And they didn't stop screaming the whole show lol!
You have to react to Elvis singing In The Ghetto live in Las Vegas 1970. And his tribute song to MLK who was shot in Memphis Elvishometown a couple of months before. If I Can Dream from his 68 Comeback Special, he did it twice, pick the one with a white suit..
Those are all great choices. _In the Ghetto_ in 1970 was the first record I ever bought, and I played it incessantly. It's still one of my favorites, and it still tugs my heartstrings and still someone's makes me tear up today.

I went to high school in far eastern Montana (very unhip rural place, where people didn't wear bell bottoms) one day in the 1970s wearing a pair of beige pants with bell bottoms that were actually larger than my waist. My extremely unsophisticated best friend asked me why I was wearing my pajamas to school. 😡 Forgiven, but never forgotten. We've been friends for 55 years.
