Jacob, this has been so much fun! Because of your trip to San Francisco, we are now going there for our first time. We can't wait to see in real life what you showed us in your videos. LOVE the train series, that is also on our bucket list. May you be blessed with great weather and an easy ride, safe travels! :)
These train trips throw a whole new dynamic to the channel. And when we get there? It a new regular carpetbagger episode. I rode the Empire Builder. Now I wanna ride the others like the carpetbagger.
Love these train videos! My husband agrees with you. He hates sitting with strangers in those close quarters. Your room is cozy and a nice place to eat! We love to watch you enjoying your meal!!
Good morning Jacob from the Old Man of the Mansion. I really love your train videos since I was a conductor and engineer on the Walt Disney World Steam Trains.
I didn't even have time to tell you how exciting your train trip to the west coast was and here you are headed south! Absolutely incredible and certainly enjoyable. I watch you everyday and love sharing your adventures. I do have to say you raise my anxiety levels when you get off the train for fresh air. I'm always afraid you will get distracted and miss the train. Thank you for bringing sunshine and the world into our lives! Enjoy Texas.
So glad you took another train. I enjoy your travels but your travel by train has been very informative and setting me up for some train travel of my own.
WOW I am heading to San Antonio this weekend for my first vacation in years. I Haven't been there since I was in high school in 2007. I love your last video at the Alamo, Wax Museum, and Ripley's there. I hope I may have the blessing of meeting you there this weekend, If not, be safe and have fun. Love these train videos. I have always wanted to travel on one since I was a child.
I've been giving my mom a bad time about how nice Jacob's mom is. 😅 Hope your nice weather trend continues. So excited to see more train videos this morning. What a nice surprise.
Hey, bagger! My girlfriend, son, and myself are long-time time watchers. I just wanted to say that today we took our son to Knotts today for the first time for his birthday. Your videos on the park let me show him all the fun quirky secrets I wouldn't have known without watching your videos! We had an absolute blast and even stopped by to say hello to our now mutual friend, sad eyed Joe! Thanks so much, and keep up the great work. Also, we're loving the new train travel series!
Tito's is a fantastic Texas handmade vodka that we keep it in our kitchen freezer. Train travel is now on my bucket list, Jacob, thanks to your vlogs. Thank you.
I was so happy to see you traveling again this morning. Me too in my trusty Eurovan, visiting my Mom in Cali for two weeks before I head for a Homes on Wheels Alliance Caravan next month.
It has been a long time since visiting the River Walk. Looking forward to seeing it through your eyes. Also remember going to a beautiful Japanese garden. Hope you are going there too. Thank you for taking us along! Safe travels.
Hi Jacob, enjoying all of your videos! By the way it's pronounced "Pop-pri-cosh". The word coming from the paprika that seasons the dish and adds to the color. And yes it is a Hungarian stew. I learned about it from the TV show "Green Acres"! Eva Gabor would often mention it!
Chugga Chugga Chugga Chugga Choo Choo! I am so happy you’re back on track and bringing us along! These train videos are OFF THE RAILS! Love these! Safe travels, Jacob 🥰🛤️🚇🚂
Jacob, I think part of your decision to take the train was to have the shrimp again. Darn! Oh well next time. Traveling with you on the train it feels like we’re sitting across from you having a conversation. Have a great trip!
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃 the train ride are a blast never been on one of an Amtrak but a museum train I've. There classic trains in the museum u can look into and the have them in the fields, this was years ago as i was a kid in the 80s. Thanks for sharing this and taking us along for the ride.
I only had time to watch as far as you eating dinner because I need to get to work (I'll watch the rest of the video on my lunch break), but I just wanted to say I'm SO excited to see you on another train already! Yesterday, I started your last train trip from the beginning and watched all day, reliving your trip through your first day in Seattle before I turned off my TV for the day. I'll be so curious to see how you get around Texas after you arrive in San Antonio (because I'm guessing at least one thing on your list of things to see is the new MeowWolf in Houston). Anyway, thanks for being you and providing such awesome content to start my day with!
Awesome that you are back on the train. Bummed that you don't have a sightseer lounge on this one. I know they had one the last time I took Amtrak from STL to Chicago
Good Afternoon Jacob ! I'm glad you found another train. I am definitely enjoying the train content. Last time I was on a train, I rode Coach from New Haven CT to Washington DC In January of '93. Watching your videos is making me miss Train Travel. Looking forward to seeing what is next.
Please Take the train to Florida! We need a review of the Bright Line Train!!! We LOVE these videos❤❤❤ Family is Excited!!! We don't miss one of your videos!! Hugs to you and Jen❤❤❤❤
Hope you continue filming the different train travels. And the different experiences you encounter. Safe travels. Sometime take a train from Chicago through New York state Eastward to Albany and maybe into New England.
Love the series so far! Freight train consists can regularly be over a mile in length and close to 2 miles long as well. Typically they'll empty "helper engines" in the middle or end of the train to help with the power distribution
When you are approaching Austin, the tracks will suddenly rise to the center of the "MoPac Expressway", named after the Missouri Pacific, which was absorbed into the Union Pacific. I lived in Ft. Worth in the mid 80s and traveled on the Texas Eagle to Austin. Family lives near Austin now, and the Mo Pac Expressway almost always has trains to see as you drive along.
This came as a pleasant suprise. Glad you are enjojying train travel, always has been my favourite mode of transport, still prefer it for longer trips, as you can very comfortably work while traveling for reasonable money
I am excited about experiencing this trip along with you. I am considering taking the Crescent Train from New Orleans to New York after watching these videos.
There used to be a store that did have the Chicago hot dogs but there have been many changes over the years at Union Station. As you noted there seemed to be mostly national chain restaurant stores now. That is most likely due to the rents they charge since the station was upgraded a few years ago.
The observation car is on the Sunset Limited along with the snack bar. The two trains will be joined in San Antonio. The train coming from LA will be split in that city to become the Texas Eagle or continue to New Orleans. It's similar to the Portland and Seattle legs of the Empire Builder. I went west on the Sunset Limited and we gained the dining car in San Antonio. The Sunset Limited stops in Houston.
So glad to see your doing another trIp love watching your videos my 7 year old granddaughter is obsessed with your videos so i cant watch them without her her name is Paisley chambers can you do a shout out to her she would love it but if you cant its ok but keep the videos coming cant wait to see the next one
I have enjoyed your train trips immensely. Your explanation and showing the scenery as if I were there thank you so much for that. How about a trip to Alaska the 7-Day tour. I would love to see a train trip through Alaska and see the scenery. Stay safe my friend and God bless 👍
I’m about 4 hours away from San Antonio Texas. I’m north of Houston and on the other side of Tomball. I’m in Magnolia Texas. Hope you have a safe trip🤠😎☃️
Where do you live now? I know what you mean. I lived in St. Louis for 10 years and loved how much fun you can find there. Now I'm back in Western New York where I grew up and it's terrific too. But I miss St. Louis.
Awesome..... never been that far on the Eagle..... just made it up to Austin from San Antonio..... BTW for your knowledge the Eagle continues West attached to the Sunset Limited...... and I believe the Sunset actually passes by an old air force base that is no longer in operation when heading west..... as well as Kelly Field.... that's an active flight line that might interest you if you get a chance to see it during the daytime in San Antonio......but the Sunset also has an eastern route headed out of San Antonio that will get you to Houston and as far out as New Orleans..... BTW if you're in San Antonio and you want to celebrate planes as well I recommend heading over to Stinson Field and stop by the Trailblazer Cafe...... good place to grab a meal and watch planes take off and land while enjoying your meal
Jacob, Did not know that your were Hungarian! I too descend from Hungarian roots. My Grandfather came over from Budapest, on a immigrant boat back in 1913, established himself, and built a good business that he passed down to my Father and 3 uncles. I still have relatives in Budapest, and would love to visit them one day. We'll see, maybe one day. To bad they don't have trains that run to Hungary, huh?
Welcome to San Antonio!!! Hope you enjoy your stay here. I would love for you to check out the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad from Chama, New Mexico to Antinito, Colorado. The Chama rail yard is so great and you can roam freely through the yard and check out everything. Awesome Steam locomotives and beautiful views in the train through the mountains.
United States, freight trains on mainlines are generally limited to around 10,000 feet (approximately 1.9 miles or 3 kilometers) in length. However, certain railroads and conditions may allow for trains to be longer than 2 miles
Oh good!!! I have really enjoyed your train trips! I have watched ever day since you started and I love seeing your adventures and learning how you navigate in cities. It’s been the absolute best!!

Oh boy ! Another train trip. You do a great job explaining how everything works on a train . You’re really doing a fantastic job.
From a person from Chicago I appreciate you showing Chicago in a beautiful way
I didn't even have time to tell you how exciting your train trip to the west coast was and here you are headed south! Absolutely incredible and certainly enjoyable. Well said!!!😊
As a train person, thanks for taking us along.
I have lived, in San Francisco, Seattle, and now Texas. This series has been so fun. I am so glad to see more train adventures. I want to go too! 😂
So glad you took another train. I enjoy your travels but your travel by train has been very informative and setting me up for some train travel of my own.
I’ve always wanted to try this from San Antonio to Chicago. Now I might do it during the winter. Thank you Carpetbagger!
Glad you are continuing this train journey now.
When in San Antonio TX. make sure to visit the Alamo and ask to see the basement.

I have been LOVING this Amtrak series!!! Hope you do more of these!!
I bet you would get tons of views for a 4 day cruise video too!
Brightline! Orlando to Miami, and back! Tie it in with an Orlando trip. I know you’ll be back in Orlando soon enough
You need to include Ships in this year's theme and ride the Badger from Manitowoc to Ludington.
Have you sailed on the Badger? I have. I loved it

Hello Jacob and friends! I'm excited ! I love train trips! See you all tomorrow 🤗👍🤗
Missed opportunity. They need to serve Chicago hotdogs at Union Station.
There used to be a store that did have the Chicago hot dogs but there have been many changes over the years at Union Station. As you noted there seemed to be mostly national chain restaurant stores now. That is most likely due to the rents they charge since the station was upgraded a few years ago.

29:50 "How long can trains be?"
Depends on the state you are in, but anywhere from 7,500 feet to 8,500 feet.
United States, freight trains on mainlines are generally limited to around 10,000 feet (approximately 1.9 miles or 3 kilometers) in length. However, certain railroads and conditions may allow for trains to be longer than 2 miles
I love that this is becoming a low-key foamer channel! Hooray for rail!
Yay! So excited for this trip. Thank you!
Got my postcard today! Thanks Jenn! 😊
Durango silverton steam train in colorado really enjoyed that experience
Oh good!!! I have really enjoyed your train trips! I have watched ever day since you started and I love seeing your adventures and learning how you navigate in cities. It’s been the absolute best!!

❤
I love your channel❤! You’re so thorough when you visit a particular place. I just like your style😊
Good morning carpetbagger, what a surprise another train trip.. I've enjoyed every one of your train trips so far
Almost had a boring day and then there’s Carpetbagger…
Jacob made my day better 😊
❤
I absolutely adore these Carpetbagger train trip videos! And of course now I've added a Suzi train trip to my bucket list. 😁 Thank you Jacob, you are just the most fun traveler to watch! ❤🎉
