- During my visit to Rourkela for the NIT Innovision Fest, I was invited by the team of Rourkela Tips to come and try the best street food of Rourkela. We took one whole evening running around town and savoring the best of street food available in the steel city. Omg ..renuminu has changed so much! It started in a very small place with hardly any space to sit in comfortably . But the food was ....heavenly...something magical to it 🤤

I strongly feel SEC-15 gupchup (with 6 different water) is far more better and unique rourkela.

Diptiranjan Sahoo u r 💯 percent correct... We even told to that person we will be coming before hand... n went there too... but he had closed his stall that day... I really wanted to cover him...
U also missed d special gupchup nd chat of Gayatri gupchup stall in sec-22...nd ofcourse d authentic gupchup of Verma in sec-22...the famous dahi Valle, papdi chat,aloo tikki nd panipuri made up of pure desi ghee near Jain Mandir powerhouse road.

My father was in Rourkela from 1956. I know Bhartiya personally, visit him when I go back to Rourkela from time to time. He is called Bhartiya because his name is Bharat, he is originally from Gujarat. His brother used to sell bhujiya, chips near bhanja bhaban

It covered almost all my fav spots..
Being a foodie and a TH-camr I feel so happy seeing the food court, Renu menu and ahhh my favorite sec 18 gupchup of Dinesh Bhaiya. .
I wish to catch up the other two spots that I missed I.e the biryani and jalebi.
Happy to know that people know our restaurant Renu minu.

Hey, u have not tried Gobi Manchurian in Sec-6 and Bada Guguni in Ambagaon hata. Also dahibara in old style (Patra waala) in Sec-2 bus stand, those are mouth watery

Thanks to the trading community like Marwaris, Sardars who migrated to Raurkela and made it a truly cosmopolitan town. Raurkela is very neat, peaceful, well maintained and people are simple, courteous. I was born here in early 80's and have lived there around 2-3 yrs, excellent place for children, schools are excellent here.
it reminds me, my own childhood fav I.e rent menu. I'm a die-hard fan of it's Chole bhature. it's hard to find that same texture in bbsr. I'm missing my place.

I am also from Rourkela. Awesome 👌city. Famous for street food. Golgupa Sec 20, near gopabandu library (gupchup) , fetlizer. (bhatiya chat) ambagan. chowmein every item like chicken chowmein etc ( ambagan) place. I am fast food crazy man.

Been to Rourkela twice I guess. Pretty planned. I would say second only after Bhubaneswar.
People don't speak a lot of Odia as Rourkela borders States like Jharkhand and Chattisgardh, but then absolutely can.
Also, Rourkela has the most amount of mixed population because of the Steel plant, so speaking in Hindi becomes a natural choice I guess! :-)
