This is a really terrific song that would put many young modern bland bands to shame. The Boomtown Rats are a hugely unrated band and some of their albums are very good. This is a great video . Also, it's nice to see a regular girl in a music video instead of the normal super model.The girl in this video is just brilliant !

fan effin tastic! - I never thought the Rats would make a comeback - reminds me of my youth - the Rat were a glimmer of light during my dark teenage days - probably the most underrated group around - superior to many groups of their previous era but never seemed to get the recognition or credit for their brilliant songs

The absolute best song for a single - what a stunning return after all these years in the wilderness,great mentions of a few glam acts from the 70's such as the NY Dolls and The Spiders From Mars,but they should've namechecked The Glitter Band in there,as those Rock'n Roll Dudes were one of the finest exponents of glam rock,but unfortunately their separate career got dragged down with a certain GG.

Astonishing return to form. Heard them on Steve Wright the other day. Pure quality. The Rats are back! Bodes well for new album, Citizens of Boomtown. This the Bob we love and what he does best.
Shame Radio 2 have not playlisted this yet. It is an excellent song. The Rats always worked well together. Pete Briquette on bass has stuck by Bob, through good and bad, and has produced this album so it will be quality. I don’t know who sings the final 4 lines of this, but she has nailed it and it ends the song perfectly. Hope they get some well deserved TV exposure, a la Norton or Ross. The Rats are back and I cannot wait for Citizens of Boomtown. Never thought a band could be apart for so long and then gel again so spectacularly. Geldof’s songs are always about something and they defy time, Someone’s Looking At You was prophetic in 1980 when cctv started taking hold and its even more relevant today. Hope when they tour, they play Dave for Dave McHale and other later album gems, like Drag me Down and Guilty til proven guilty, Talking In Code. Very good video, very good single. We are all going Back to Boomtown!

I am speechless! This is amazing. My 19 year old Granddaughter has been sick in quarantine for weeks. When I was 19, (1979) I jumped on stage and danced with Bob. So sad for her. When you're 19, Saturday nights are everything. 19 year olds have many more challenges than we did. Thank you ever so much for chosing a girl who looks like and represents her generation. Simply captivating. Like watching a terrific art house movie with a cool soundtrack. You have to see it several times to find all the details,
or try to uncover the meaning- but you never will- It’s that kind of video. I also find it refreshing that the actress is not a clone of your typical Hollywood type. She was beautiful in a unique and strange way, very much like the Isabella Rosalind part in Blue Velvet.

My first fav band back in the day. I remember I was 7 or 8 when Rat trap hit number 1 and I watched Bob rip the Travolta pic on top of the pop's I loved that tune would spend all of my hols at my grans house in Harold cross in Dublin playing rat trap loud and clear on my Uncles stereo jumping of a chair like a lunatic, thats when I knew thats what I want to do,Thanks Bob and the rest of the guy's,

@@Jakintheboks Thanks. I have been a life long fan. I met The Rats in the early 1985 in Belfast backstage after a gig in Belfast where they signed my copies of their first LP and In the Long Grass. I got the rest of my LPs signed by Bob in Dublin in 2018 at a vinyl festival where he was in interview with Pete Phaphides. I really treasure them. Looking forward to the new album after hearing this song. So exciting.
