these are weird bands for people who's musical world consists of only mainstream bands. Not saying popular bands aren't good, i'm just saying these bands aren't really that weird compared to a lot of other music.
I love steam powered giraffe. I was introduced to them by a friend a few years back and loved them since. The steam punk nature they have and put into there music and their outfits is amazing. The bios they come up with each band member and the world they live in is amazing as well. They maybe be “weird” but they are totally inspirational. One of their latest songs, Malfunction, talks about how you should be proud of the things that make you different like: being transgender to ADHD, and says all people should be praised.
I have seen Gwar over a hundred times. Greatest band ever. And Baby Metal isn't weird even a little. GG is and will always be number 1. And Primus definitely isn't weird. Just incredible. I got fish with Dean from Ween a few times

Zappa was amazing, because he was such a amazing guitarist. He worked with the amazing guitarist named Steve Vai. Same as Buckethead. Such talent, but just misunderstood. They just make music they like making. Also, Primus? They aren’t “weird.” More, funky and great.

They have some controversy on occasion, but are far from WEIRD, they just have a rabid cult fanbase most of the time and people claim all sorts of bullshit over them. It seems GG Allin was just emulating The Stooges, just with more dissonant lyrics instead of singing about rabid fucking or war. As far as I know Iggy Pop did everything GG Allin did (except eat shit), and that was in the 60's and 70's.

Even fighting, injuring and humiliating his band members (how they ever wanted to work with him I dont know). Iggy Pop was a bit crazy. GG Allin was sociopathic.

Are you serious? I could see ICP maybe coming in at 9 or 10, but #1? And The Residents didn't even get an honorable mention? Wow WatchMojo, you didn't put very much thought into this one, did you?

Björk definitely should have been on this list, as well as The Bloodhound Gang and Captain Beefheart. Maybe Beck as well as an honorable mention. Look up Cibo Matto as well. First heard them from Jet Set Radio Future on the original Xbox, bought their first album and I was hooked.

I love steam powered giraffe. I was introduced to them by a friend a few years back and loved them since. The steam punk nature they have and put into there music and their outfits is amazing. The bios they come up with each band member and the world they live in is amazing as well. They maybe be “weird” but they are totally inspirational. One of their latest songs, Malfunction, talks about how you should be proud of the things that make you different like: being transgender to ADHD, and says all people should be praised.

I am not a fan of them, but I don't see how ICP was the "weirdest" band. They have some controversy on occasion, but are far from WEIRD, they just have a rabid cult fanbase most of the time and people claim all sorts of bullshit over them. Otherwise, they are just 2 white guys that are actually pretty charitable with face paint. Die Antword is on a whole other level of "god damn, wtf... what... fucking weird" let alone Mr. Bungle or Zappa.

If they are considered weird, then Kiss or Twisted Sister would have to be too... its just facepaint. They don't have some other gimick or weird awkward lyrics or musical style.
It seems GG Allin was just emulating The Stooges, just with more dissonant lyrics instead of singing about rabid fucking or war.
As far as I know Iggy Pop did everything GG Allin did (except eat shit), and that was in the 60's and 70's.

Iggy Pop, jumping from the scaffolding, smashing bottles on his chest, etc. But GG Allin doing tons of things with shit, actually brutally beating the shit out of quite a few other people, actually contemplating murder and suicide (out loud, in public on stage). Even fighting, injuring and humiliating his band members (how they ever wanted to work with him I dont know).
