@@studyg4085 You're not alone. I have always struggled with this tool and avoided for years. Now I want to get serious and advance my design skills so I need to break free of this. It's getting easier.
Just came across your channel because the pen tool is giving me so much frustration but i gotta say you really helped me understand it a bit better. My biggest issues are where to put the next anchor point and if I hold the left mouse for a curve or not without getting screwed up and frustrated but your video and gives me hope I might be able to finish my university project because my tutor is useless at teaching so thank you sir.

I shall not be defeated. Trying to get my head around Illustrator and I am finding it hard. Hopefully I'm not the only one. I've been surfing all the tutorials and this one is so much clearer than others. I wonder if you do one on one tutorials online?

I'm struggling with deleting anchor points if you make a mistake going around curves. So I was wondering if you can maybe do a personal one to one lesson with me using software we can connect computers online?
I think it's a case of repeating until you finally get it. I'll be here all day & I'll let you know how I get on. Practice makes perfect.

Hello! Thank you for the tutorial; the world is a better place because of kind people such as yourself. Unfortunately, I'm having a small issue. In the multiple curves part, I try to click to create an anchor, but 'intersect' is the only option that appears. Therefore, when I make the line, it only goes one way. I'm not sure why.

Really interesting. 1:12 why do you recommend to disable this option since it can help through the exercices ? Is it possible to have another link to dowload the file please (google drive for example) ? My browser say it's not secure.
Lingatsu, I also change the download link to be hosted on Dropbox, hope that works for you. As for your question, I personally never rely on the Rubber Band so I can adjust the curves through the control handles using the Direct Selection tool. It might be harder initially but in the long run you will master the tool. Hope this helps 😀👋

I usually grab the Move tool (V). Try that and see. 😀
Hey, I'm trying to follow the activities but the Dropbox download only has the first Straight Lines available. Is it possible to get the rest of the examples so I can attempt them too?
it has all of them. When you open it in AI you will see in the layer panel that you need to enable the eye icon to see others. Hope that helps

Why doesn't Adobe Illustrator offer a "reposition anchor point" tool? To slide anchor points along a path without changing path. Anyone?
