No matter how much I hear this song I still get goosebumps and my heart breaks all over again. I don’t think this version is anywhere near the same because in the film version you really FEEL what she’s feeling. She’s an AMAZING actress as well... god the movie felt so real. It was amazing. I've always known Lady Gaga had a great voice. Now it may be just me, but her singing has risen a level or two since she did those duets with Tony Bennett about 3 or 4 years ago. There is truly a big difference. This performance does bring a tear to ones eyes.
This song was a Live recording. I attended the taping at the Shrine Auditiorium in LA and she sang it about 8 or 9 times. We were there for almost 12 hours but it was so worth it. She sang magnificently.
This song in the movie is absolutely heart wrenching. I was balling and I know most of the theater was too. You definitely should see the movie! I've seen it twice in the theater and was equally moved by it both times. I downloaded the full soundtrack (and I haven't done that for a LONG time). Everyone involved in this film did an extraordinary job across the board. Just so much wow.

What I have loved most is that even though you may not prefer (I don’t think that’s the right word for it, but I can’t think of anything else) certain stylistic choices, you still very much respect them if it is pulled off well, and commend them for it, as you did with Disturbed’s Sound of Silence. And much like many other professional vocal coaches/teachers, you give constructive criticism, and never seem to bash anyone for what they’re doing wrong. It is amazing. Now I would request doing Epica at the Orchard: Blank Infinity. This is an acoustic session done in a stairwell with no mics, so it is a very raw and human performance. The singer, Simone Simons, is of my favorite, and has a very beautiful voice.
