Thank you for venturing into Floss Tube! You guys are the best! You make me feel so much better about all the things because you are so cool about it all.
Its not mistakes they are personalization's! I do small pillow finishes mainly because I only have so many walls to hang things. I love black work as well, the steady thread has some amazing patterns, right now I'm working on the weaving knot SAL. Be careful with Beeswax and make sure to use 100% beeswax otherwise it can flake. I drive my husband crazy when I loose a needle! and I too have lost needles in bed. If you have having trouble with linen try an even weave, the holes are more uniform in size and you dont have to worry about slubs in the fabric! If you do happenings you could try and look into what retreats are happening! I know Stitch West is soon (that is in Utah, normally they do it in the Fall but this year they added a Spring event in) and Under the Sea Fabrics (I love her fabric) in San Antonio has a retreat in June.
Pillows in baskets? Why? OMG I peed my pants laughing because I don’t get it either! But every time I have said that- I wind up doing it and ‘getting it’
Great job ladies! I’m glad you popped up as a suggestion! Tip on using gridded fabric…before starting, decide if you want your first or last stitch on the grid line. The line is always my stitch #1 for a 10x10 square
I came right over to watch video 2…so much fun. Just wait until you discover flat folds! Oh my…the 12 days of Christmas is huge but gorgeous. I am so glad the Modern Folk Embroidery piece is going to work out.
Just discovered you guys because Arica at fibers and floss Canada mentioned your channel, and now I have plans to binge watch all your videos to catch up. Love your banter!
I so enjoyed you both…+ 1. I truly get SNL stitchy vibes from watching you. You’re stitching is awesome along with the fun banter. Looking forward to the other videos!
I completely understand the strange vibes of coming back to something that you've grown while working on. One of my first finished projects was that way. Look at that bee butt! The fabric you're using for the bee is beautiful as well. I get the people exceptionally invested in your stitching too 😆 my coworkers are always asking about updates on mine, and I've got so many projects sometimes they'll be on hold for a while. Though right now I'm on bedrest with a broken foot so everyone keeps asking if I've been making progress while I've been off at home 😅 (I've yet to lose a needle while bed stitching but I'm hoping to keep that streak 🤞) The 12 days of Christmas really is beautiful. I don't know much about couching but as you said it looks phenomenal.
Thank you so much! I think there are some projects I only ever work on because I know people will be asking about them. I hope you heal up soon and get lots of stitching done in the meanwhile. :)
I love y’all!!! I hope you enjoy Birdmen Cometh on that Lipstick, it’s such a fun fabric. I’m obsessed with all of your WIPs, finishes and plans ❤ Again, this was such a hoot and holler, delightful watch!!! 😂
Ahhhhh! I can’t wait to embarrass Elizabeth and tell her Cam is obsessed with us back! I’m going to start Birdman tonight as a memorial to this comment.
OMG! You must be in my area! I love Thread Needle Street, and the first time I went in there I told my friend who was with me, "We found Ollivanders! I could spend hours (and thousands) in there! So glad I found you guys.
Thread Needle Street is one of the shops (along with the Silver Needle in Tulsa) that I always recommend when people ask about brick and mortar stores that do mail order without being an "online needlework store". They have always been great about taking my half incoherent materials requests and helping me find the esoteric stuff. You are so lucky to have them as an LNS! (The gold is probably purl or passing thread used in real gold work - depending on the size, and yeah it's hard to work with!)
You two are so much fun. First off, that 12 Days of Christmas project is STUNNING! Just wow. And I need to say, I absolutely love that you have a framed Andrew WK poster behind you 😂I saw him when he came to Vancouver a few years back. It was such an incredible show/party.
You two are silly and I'm here for it! Maryam from MarroomyCrafts sent me over and I guess now I'll watch your next episode to get caught up on everything stitchy! That old 12 days wip is amazing. Lots of beautiful stitching. That fiber on a whim sapphire sure is pretty! It's a nice alternative to just a plain navy or black. Ok, checking out your next video. Happy stitching!
Liz Matthews mom is Cathy Barrick and yes she is very popular also. Great job ladies. I live in Washington also, between Bonney Lake and Federal Way. The Seattle Stitcher mentioned your channel on her latest Floss-tube. Thread Needle Street is your LNS.
I just found you in my suggestions and I’m so happy I clicked on to watch! You guys are so fun and I love all your projects! The 12 days of Christmas is gorgeous and I agree definitely needs to be behind glass when you are finished! I’m looking forward to video #3! ❤
Thank you for sharing! Did you watch something specific to learn how to couch, or learn by doing? There's a project I'm avoiding because I'm scared to start the couching...😆
I learned by doing. It’s actually pretty simple, the hardest part is keeping your threads from getting tangled. For me, the trick was making sure I only have one working thread on the back at a time, with the other on the front. Also, two needle minders. Good luck! Couching is gorgeous and as much as I hate doing it, the results are 100% worth it.
What was that super cute dragon WIP that ya were working on in the beginning? When I have a project that I’m not working on that I’m not loving all of it, I do 1 strand of fun and 1 strand of blah. I don’t get tiny pillows either.
Caroline even bought me some and I keep forgetting to take it home! I’m struggling with my first silk project right now, so this is actually really helpful. Thanks! :)
This is what i look for in a TH-cam video
Thank you for venturing into Floss Tube! You guys are the best! You make me feel so much better about all the things because you are so cool about it all.
Great video!!! I'm jealous of your kids!
You girls just make me laugh! Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon!

This is all such good advice! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
I really want to go to Stitch West!
Elizabeth casually dropped the “I woke up at 3 am to start it” bomb 🤣 amazing!
I jist love the two of you. You are the first flosstube channel I am watching from the beginning!
Thank you! That is Major -C
Love your channel, thanks for a fun time!! I’m going to watch all and get caught up for your next one!!
Love your stitches and humor! Just FYI, Ellen Reid (Maximum Cross Stitch) is in Crash Test Dummies.
Pillows in baskets? Why? OMG I peed my pants laughing because I don’t get it either! But every time I have said that- I wind up doing it and ‘getting it’
I’ve had big Grandma Energy since preschool. I’m sure at some point somethings gonna click and all of a sudden I’ll have pillows everywhere…
Small pillows for the win!!

You guys crack me up! Your stitching is great…mistakes and all. Move forward, never back! ❤
Thank you so much! One of my favorite things about cross stitch is that when you make mistakes you get do overs.
You guys are in Kirkland? Me too. I came here after Megan (the Seattle Stiticher) suggested your channel. Love your energy!! ❤❤

Aw, thanks! I worked really hard on 12 days, and I’m really pleased with how it looks. :)
You should totally bring that 12 Days of Christmas one to the state fair!
Oh it’s got to go! There is no way I will let her chicken out of this one
Lizzie to get coffee out - if you catch it in time - pour boiling water through the coffee spots.
You two are the best compliment to each other, such fun to watch….
I was over the moon when Caroline started stitching!
😂 you guys are just too…I can’t even. Bees wax is a thing…Happy learning everything!
Bees wax is definitely a situation
Love your repartee! I’ve not heard of couching in place of backstitching…could you please explain the difference some time? Thanks!
I’ll ask E to explain next video!
Do you have a picture of the baby in the madras gras beads with the hat and the sunglasses that we can see?
This was just the most fun!!
Thank you!

Hahaha the pillow thing is a trip haha
MY gosh, you two/sometimes 3 are super fun :D ok, i am out of here, have to get some bees wax. and a tin.
Let us know how the beeswax goes. :)
@@Elizabeth-pj5if it was mostly just a joke. However I do like beeswax, my silk is more tamed with it, not to mention the tengle prone cottons ..
Caroline even bought me some and I keep forgetting to take it home! I’m struggling with my first silk project right now, so this is actually really helpful. Thanks! :)
Omg yall are in WA?! We need to get together some time.
Also don’t worry. Denise doesn’t watch flosstube really LOL she’s not into that stuff I don’t think 😂❤
