Recapping the Recap:
-Extra appreciate the video versions of the podcast Nick, great production quality.
-Merch turned out great, I've got a shirt on the way - black of course because all shirts and Labradors should be black!
-We need a video tour of the new truck camper setup, obviously. :D Looking forward to that.
-The run of bad luck always sucks in the moment, but makes for stories to tell down the road once you're on the other side of it! Short of serious injuries for dogs, humans and vehicles, I think the (paraphrased) saying "Ships are safer in harbor, but that's not what ships are built for..." applies. Kudos for your good attitude about it all.
-It was a big shift for us being midwesterners to start spending time out west and realizing the importance of high quality, durable tires, tire repair tools, a good air compressor and an extra spare from the junk yard or craigslist if you've got the space! Good work having that emergency jump/air gear! Vehicles can take a beating on long road trips that's for sure.

There always seems to be some bad luck on every long extended trip for me. Cant let it ruin the experience though. We can only be prepared for it.
Im curious, which tire brand have you landed on when it comes to quality and durability?
@@gundogityourself great attitude to have! It doesn't make it suck less, but being prepared helps knock some stress off the other end.
Re: tires, the gold standard for many for a long time was the BF Goodrich KO2 (and I think they are still a great tire), but at the recommendation of a friend that owns a tire shop, we tried Falkens starting in 2018. We have the Falken Rubitrek on our Toyota 4Runner and the tires just hit 80k miles. Yes you read that right. They have seen a lot of highway miles, been all over the west on forest service roads, BLM, trails, all over. Falken has since released the Wildpeak AT3W and AT4W with similar durability and winter rating that I don't think the previous Wildpeaks had. For my next set of tires I'll be going with the Wildpeak vs the Rubitrek since they are easier to find at a random tire shop in stock if you should ever have a major tire boo boo. All of these I'm speaking of we buy in LT/Light Truck/E Load Range/10 ply. Some will say E load range is overkill for half ton trucks and SUVs and will do a C load range instead. C and E load range are a little rougher and louder on the highway than a P rated passenger tire, but the win is in durability. By comparison, the P rated all terrains that came on my GMC Sierra, one has already been replaced due to a sidewall penetration on a paved road and the tires won't last until 40k miles almost assuredly.

New subscriber here. I’m not a hunting dog owner or enthusiast (I like them though). I’m glad I found your channel. This applies to many avenues of training working dogs also and just dog training overall. Great content!

I'm a mostly pet dog/hobbyist Labrador person and originally listened to a few episodes that I didn't really think applied to me and they turned into some of my favorite episodes! I've been hooked since. Lots of great dog information and dog philosophy in this podcast!
@@adamw4469 That truly means a lot. I TRY to put out episodes that someone should learn SOMETHING that applies to them in every episode. Not all of them can be winners but for the most part my aim is for everyone to feel like they came away with something for listening.
Would love to have you join Faith and I on a hunt, we will drive though.
