Awareness in sex creates love and connection, says author Diana Richardson. She has spent 25 years teaching couples about sex as a form of meditation where longing and attraction don’t die. Are you open minded? Are you open to explore? Learn how sex can bring healing and connection to your relationship in this thought-provoking talk.
This performance was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
Diana Richardson is one of today’s leading authorities on human sexuality. She has written 8 books on how in practical ways a person can experience a more fulfilling sex and love life. One of her bestsellers was translated and published under the title "Zeit für Weiblichkeit", a book well celebrated in the German speaking world. Born in South Africa in 1954, she first qualified as a lawyer (B.A.LLB), and then she trained as a massage therapist (ITEC) in the UK. Her interest in the body and healing prompted an intense personal exploration into the union of sex and meditation - the essence of Tantra. Since 1993, together with her partner, she has been sharing her insights and experiences with couples who travel from many different parts of the world to participate in their informative and life changing workshops in Switzerland. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I did this on accident once with my partner. I was just feeling very focused, and in love, and it just happened. It felt like warm euphoria throughout my body, but a light, positive euphoria… it gave me like a 3-4 hour long after glow where I couldn’t speak afterwards. Then I happy cried, and felt uplifted for like a whole day after. Maybe it’s why I’m so in love with him to this day, while he’s still catching up ;)

Janet, couldn't agree more with you! - and, for full disclosure, your words put me at ease a bit, as I first though I am nuts when reading many of the comments above. Diane R. is genuine and points to a precious experience that I am so happy to discover ( a bit late in life) - but what shocked me was many of the folks commenting above would dedicate their time to listen through a presentation that went *entirely* above their heads and minds ;-).............thanks you for your post!

It's my nature to think fully of all the aspects of the thing I'm doing but unfortunately my partner is not that, she is in a hurry most of the time so that she could finish 3-6 climaxes quickly against 1. But I don't deny my intense pleasure with that ☺️

What is wrong with a raging bonfire at first then stoke it for a few hours. Nothing! Depends on what your intentions are with Tantra.
Tantra is also about teleportation using the energy from 2 because it’s very difficult for one to generate the energies needed to perform such a task.
Modern day Tantra is nothing like it’s former self. Tantra has way way more uses than what is being taught today.

I find that many couples who devote themselves to Tantra will be open for exchange with other partners as well. So in reality instead of creating a deeper bond, you can run the risk of loosing your relationship altogether. Tantra may not be the cause here, but it's certainly an area that attracts people with commitment phobia.

There are relative measures of being both mindful and "mind filled", just like there are many facets to one's personality. I do not like the analogy of cold and warm, though. Coldness is only relative to the object that you are comparing it with that has a higher energy level. For example, when you add ice to a glass of water at room temperature, you are not cooling the water. Instead, the water is transferring energy to the ice and heating it.

The point I was focused on is that you deny the emotional life of animals. As an alternative learning experience perhaps you could spend time with them, outside the clinical setting. May I suggest before you do start, perhaps reading, with an open mind, a few books with books by Jane Goodall.
I have no intention in getting into a right and wrong discussion, so if you wish to have the last word, just write back. TED talks are wonderful. Nowhere else have I found such interesting topics and diverse opinions. As I stated before, I believe the practice of mindfulness is a great gift to humanity.

I always have to chuckle when humans think they know what animals are thinking.

Magic Handz I similarly have to chuckle when humans act like they are not themselves animals...
The illusion of choice makes us arrogant, and think we are different from other animals.

Yes, those assertions of hers really did not resonate. Still watching...

I know exactly what animals think.
Hamster: Ooo look at that new neighbor! Her sand hole is so perfect! And her fur is so shiny... I feel the tension between my little legs... I need to have tiny fur balls with her!!!!! NOW!!! *hamster runs to his neighbor and becomes humpster*

Reminds of a song I wrote called “Oh Eve, please don’t blame me” - an explanation from God to Eve about why Adam is the way he is: in removing Adam’s rib to make Eve, some blood was lost. Adam still has enough for his mind and his manhood, but not enough to use both at the same time.

She surely hasn't spent much time around animals. She starts off with so many misconceptions concerning distinctions between humanity and animals. She has a view. Mindfulness is a very good practice.

So spending time around animals is how you learn about animals? I never wanna learn about lions then, or T. rex
