Think you would like her Eurovision final performance of zero gravity Matt - it has everything - she sings while swinging on a bendy pole. She’s amazing!!
Kate is an Australian, award winning singer, songwriter and composer. She is classically trained but also does indie-pop. She is the only singer to have performed at Eurovision, Coachella, and The Met. Thx Matt, You're sounding more like Johnny Cash every day.
The left handed guitarist in the beginning is Kate's husband Keir Nuttal. He's an amazing musician in his own right and had band called Transport. Check out a little long called "Soda Pop" a song about America 🇺🇸
Very nice commentary - usually people discuss her beautiful voice, but you’ve added rhythmic insights! And you absolutely need to watch her amazing Eurovision performance, if you can around the rights restrictions.
@@DebraBing yeah it’s funny, I thought Aussies were quirky, then I went to NZ and they’re even quirkier😆 I fitted right in😂 I dunno why people would wanna be ‘normal’ that’s as boring as batshit. 😁
@@julzhunt7790 Lol you're sooo right! Don't think I could be 'normal' if l tried. Actually l have tried and l was a dismal failure at it. Kind of grateful for that now 😂. Let's hear it for the freaks!!!
Kate is a huge voice in a tiny frame. You really do need to listen to other songs from Kate, especially the Eurovision verSion of Zero Gravity. She's a unicorn 🦄
I thought it was great that you pointed out your sense of percussion when you heard Kate’s voice. Then when you resumed the video she started singing in a truly percussive pattern. I was reminded of Sheila Chandra’s opening song “Speaking in Tongues” from her album “Weaving My Ancestors’ Voices”. I think you’d like it, also the third and fourth songs “The Dreaming” and “Ever So Lonely” much of which are both sung as “vocalise”. I used to teach musicality and muscle memory technique for my Cuban friend’s dance academy. I therefore appreciate your videos as you’re always adding new insights to my own area of interest. Keep them coming please!🙏 PS. Recommend you look at Kate’s performance of “Zero Gravity” in the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Her outfit and performance are even more stunning than this one. You’ll see that she really has zero gravity (literally 😂) !
Love it. Away from the beaten track and that`s the point. Was thinking of her ESC performance - a real stunning song. Your perceptive as usual. Hope you`ll do some russian stuff again some time....
Hiya Matt do yourself a favour and listen to her do her version of psycho killer by talking heads... Brilliant! th-cam.com/video/wbkM2QawzR8/w-d-xo.html Oh and she also does a cover of John's Your the voice too!
I saw her live and she’s fantastic. Met her after the concert - just a lovely , sweet person.

Lol. Love Johnny. Thanks Debra.
Her Facebook song and you underestimated me dude are really funny and show off her singing! I subscribed just because you reacted to her

Kate us a wonderful performer, in a variety of styles. Very talented. Great voice.

The song 'Humiliation' from this same concert is another good one to watch. Kate also does a lot of comedic songs, she has a wicked sense of humour.
Kate is quirky and Aussies love quirky 😁yes another great Aussie talent
Haha yeah we do love a good bit of quirky 🙂

Just a minute - I think I was in the audience for this show!
Lucky you! I'm jealous. I still haven't heard Kate live. Definitely one for the bucket list.🙂
I’ve got tickets for Wildflower festival in March. Can’t wait to see her live.
You should watch her singing “The Last Day on Earth”😁 Btw My Cholesterol is fine, Teal is my favourite colour and 13… 😆

She is different but has a lovely voice.
Another recommendation is ‘Career Advice’, which KMH did on a show called Rockwiz - brilliant, and showcases her diverse vocal talents

Btw Matt, the link to her Eurovision Performance is on Patreon, if you wanna view it.
Cheers
Thanks Debra ))
Melbourne - pronounced Mel-burn.
My god Eurovision. Watch her but I think you won’t get her finals performance due to limits
She's never been my cup of tea. But she uses her voice well. Just a few too many gymnastics for me
Interesting.
But.....did you learn to play the black keys 😂 please don't mention drummer's and marriage in one breath Matt, my first husband was a drummer 🥁 😳
Lol
