      Thanks Barbara, they are very comfortable jeans, I think it is due to the lovely stretch denim, happy sewing, Deb 🪡🧵💕👖

    Hi Deb, thank you so much for spending your precious sewing and vlogging time to focus on my Stina skirt disaster. Its seems that you lose and gain by purchasing the PDF. Both the AO & A4 versions have a stich line which is not listed in the key to the symbols. But when I saw your multi-layered paper pattern, I really winced!! I would definitely not enjoy that. It's not a cheap pattern so I would have been very disappointed to also have extra work tracing and working out those lines. I am a tracer because I make a lot of alterations.
    The seam allowances are very clear in the instructions so I have no idea why Atelier Jupe felt that they were needed. It made tracing the pleat lines hard.
    I thought your idea of making a toile of the lining for fit really made sense and will do this. I will go back to this skirt once I have it reprinted in just one size. I hope some people respond to your question about whether others have tried it. Let's see. And thank you for making a tutorial in fabric and thread so that we can see what you are doing. You are a star!

      Thanks Molly, you are welcome, always happy to help. The Stina Skirt is the first pattern I purchased from Atelier Jupe, you don’t want to know the words that came out of my mouth when I opened the pattern 🤣. Once I worked out to outline the size in coloured texta it was ok, but it is expensive not to receive a full pattern. I have since only bought the Charlie Sweater which was much easier as it is quite short. Good luck with the single size print, that should make it easier, hopefully it works out and hopefully others also answer if they have made this skirt. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Wow Deb, these jeans make your legs look long. They are a great fit and the white top stitching is fantastic.
    Congratulations on finding a new house. That's exciting times ahead.
    Unfortunately l will not be entering the Sew Autumn Denium now, as l have been unwell and have not had the strength to sew or think. So that's disappointing. Can't wait to see everyone's makes

      Thanks Libby, I hope you are feeling better now. That’s a shame you will miss the Sew Autumn Denim challenge, I’m looking forward to everyone’s makes too, it gives you so many ideas. Have a great sewing week and get well soon, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    I’m so excited for you Deb! Buying a new home is always an emotional time but I hope you’re excited for the next adventure in life and of course all that sorting, packing and moving! I’m loving the Jude jeans and am going to make them. I have had to seriously revise what to make for sewautumndenim simply due to time! I’ve started a new job so I’m now working the hours I’d normally be sewing - my children don’t need me to be stay at home mum anymore and I keep saying that I go to work for respite from them (I work with children). They understand my reasons and look forward to a slower sewing operation (and more bought clothes). So I’m making the Dawn jeans which I’ve made many times in the straight leg and also the StyleArc Carlisle teen jeans for my very tall nine year old daughter. I’ll get to the Jude’s hopefully soon.

      Thanks Tamara, we’re excited for the new house too, but not looking forward to the packing, although I’m not taking anything I don’t need, I seriously have enough crockery to serve 70 people, time to cull. I hope your new job goes well, I can understand you working for a break from your own kids, but as you said it will cut into your sewing time. The Jude Jeans are great really glad I made them, I have made a few pairs of the Ash Jeans and find them a great fit. I’m glad your sewing for your daughter, it’s difficult when they are 15 and 16 as they become more than fussy, good luck with your sewing time, have a great week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    I usually get PDF patterns and get them printed. The Atelier Jupe stitch lines are a real pain and require a lot of concentration especially on small pieces. Before cutting out or tracing I always draw over the lines I want with a coloured pencil -makes it so much easier. Never made the skirt though. Loving your jeans. Have never made a pair but that Closet Core pattern is so tempting. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne

      Hi Lynne, the jeans are lovely, very comfortable to wear. I don’t think is any need for stitch lines, if they tell us the seam allowance, and if the seam allowance is narrower say for a collar they can write that on the pattern piece as a reminder 🤷‍♀️. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Those jeans are lovely! Awesome work, Deb!❤
    I remember the Burda days... they were lovely patterns though. The Fibre Mood pattern magazines are the same format.
    Have a great time in Brisbane!

    Hi Deb the Jude jeans looks so great on you. I just love the longer flyfront, obviously due to the high waist. They really remind me of the 70s especially with the fro t patch pockets . Thanks for another great video ❤❤.

    Hi Deb, Jeans are perfect on you as is the blouse. You are so productive. Yes would love a video on construction. Any special tread used? Wish I had the time for the challenge but you know why.

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Venora, the jeans and blouse are both lovely to wear. I use normal thread to sew the jeans and the Guttermann top stitching thread for the top stitching, I think it used to be called jeans thread but now it is just top stitching thread. Hope you get some sewing time in soon, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    I have used the same material, very stretchy. Had to take in my pattern a lot for the pants to fit.
    Used Marfy 1689. Now just got to work out how to share on insta by Friday. Thanks heaps Deb.

      Your welcome, it is very stretchy, very comfortable too, I do find it easy to take in the sides in jeans when they are too big, good luck with instagram, glad it’s not just me 🤣. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Thanks Deb. Your jeans look AMAZING & so professional. 👏🏽👏🏽⭐️ I love the design & especially the top stitching. Great finish. You're such a brilliant sewist & have great knowledge & depth of skills. Thanks for helping us. Looking forward to your demo re the pants zipper insertion.
    BTW if we use stretch denim, would you suggest we go down a size (which I think I mostly do when buying stretch denim jeans).
    Thanks again. M (Brisbane)

      Hi M, you’re welcome. I would only downsize if the denim is really stretchy, if I make them again I will check the stretch of the denim to make sure they won’t be too tight. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    The first time I sewed a Style Arc pattern I spent ages trying to work out all the lines. Turns out they were the stitch lines and no where in the instructions did it say anything about them. I felt like a right royal goose when I finally realised what they were there for 😂

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Tracy, really why would we need stitch lines, if they make the seam allowance clear we can easily sew the garment, it’s just confusing. Strange it’s not on the paper pattern. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Hi Deb, beautiful jeans a fabulous job, just a quick comment that weft and warp have mostly sold out of the stretch denim and the good colours too, I am disappointed that I left it a bit too late to buy anything for myself. snooze you lose as they say😜

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Lee, yes I did see Weft and Warp had sold out of many of the stretch denim, not much of it around at the moment, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    I love your jeans. I was looking at them on CC website recently. I’d like to make the high rise but with the traditional pocket. With a bit of a tummy, I’m afraid the square pockets in the front will look like I have two bottoms 😊.
    Does the pattern allow for this configuration?

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Polly, yes you can make the high rise with the jeans pockets and flares, just overlay the pattern pieces to add the traditional pockets, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    I’ve already entered 3 denim makes, and have more, since your challenge coincided with my sewing. Do I need to repost them on a certain date? First I’m hearing a due date type of thing. Is it because of the changes on IG? Can’t follow hashtags? Or am I OK? Love the jeans, and thx for zipper tutorial. It’s not been an issue for me to discern stitching and cutting lines, only to add seam allowances to a Burda magazine pattern. 😂.

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Craftymystic, I would repost in instagram on the 31st of May, just to make sure you are in the running for the fabulous prizes. I can’t work out instagram anymore either the search is really difficult now. Oh, the Burda adding the seam allowances was a nightmare 😱. Have a great sewing week, sounds like you have sewn up a denim storm, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    What thread did you use for the top stitching? It looks fab!

      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Michele, I used the Gurrermann top stitching thread, you do have to buy 2 reels as one is not enough, very happy with the results. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
