I put a few other things in each of my first aid kits. One example is a small sewing kit that can be used for a lot more than just fixing that hole in the seat of your pants. Also I have a LED headlamp rather than a flashlight. Hands free all the way if you get my meaning. Great video and keep on Prepping!
I'd add a tourniquet, an Israeli bandage, quik clot powder and gauze, a thermometer, and probably take a few of those qtips and stuff them in with one pack of the cotton balls to make room for 4x6 and 4x4 gauze pads. I always put a decent ace bandage and a roll of vet wrap in kits I pack, a small Rite in the Rain/pen, wound closure strips/butterfly bandages, an instant cold and a hand warmer ... in general, I'd need a bigger case. An AFAK should cover just about anything you might personally need so add in any meds (prescription and OTC) that would be pertinent to you. I also keep a much better kit in the car to use if necessary on the road. Far too many people don't have any sort of kit at all so carrying a kit that you don't mind using items from for others is almost a necessity if you plan to stop and help anyone.
There are different versions with other stuff too, still not expensive. I bought one that has a multitool axe, a shovel, whistles, a flashlight, a tourniquet, cords, more medical stuff, even dinnerware, etc... I think the idea is that it's all sized and pre-packaged so you don't have to measure all this stuff out building your own...🤔
Back in the day I purchased a PFAK from Amazon. I later found that the alcohol swabs were dried out. My wife pulled the Refuge Medical iFAK and patched me up. Will stay with tried and true - Bear Independent.
Nothing lasts forever, after untold quintillions of years from now every proton, neutron, electron will be so far from each other they will never ever meet again...
Having an accident at night, in the winter, up north gives a new meaning to survival kit. Keeping the snow, ice, sleet from hitting an injured person is absolutely necessary. Lights to see what is wrong, where the wounds are, necessary. Actually, I think having a buddy pack, that would handle the elements, that clips onto that one would be helpful. More gauze squares, tape, steri strips, two more ace bandages, at least 5 pairs of gloves (must change between injured parties), bottle of normal saline. Oh boy, my list is getting big. I think that pack is too small.
Why are so many of the comments talking about Bear independence and other medical kits, this is a general purpose light-weight easy-to-bring-with-you SURVIVAL kit (y'all read the title of the video??), with a multitool axe, a shovel, whistles, a flashlight, cords, even dinnerware, etc. Pre-sized and pre-packaged so you don't have to measure everything if you built one yourself. I swear, some of these people commenting lol...like trying to take their mom's minivan to the Normandy landings on D-Day...😂 "There's a time and place for everything"
Needs a tourniquet and Israeli bandages. The kit in the video seems to be trying to do two different things at once....survival/bug out kit vs a first aid/blow kit. Kind've should do one or the other IMO. Not enough room in that size pack to try and do both. For 40 bucks, it's still a good buy. Figure out which one you want survival or first aid, and then throw out what doesn't for that bag. Then buy another bag and do the other specific bag.
Very good review. I have just recently put together my own kit, but I have to say it's a bit bigger than that one. I don't think I could fit everything I want in a first aid kit in that size pouch, but I have taken less when back packing and weight was so important. Other than the items you had already mentioned, I would add an Israeli bandage, a quick clot bandage, a vented chest seal, some saline for cleaning wounds, hydrogel burn pads, a tourniquet, a Sharpie pen and some mole skin.
Well since you asked, I would dump the. Ponch, cotton balls, and any other crappy tool. add an extra solar blanket, I like the flash lite, and chem lights, add pad 4x4,6x6, an Ace bandage, harbor freight shears, an a real A good tourniquet, a couple of large maxi pads, tape, and a chest seal.
I just buy the bags. Then I outfit it for each vehicle I keep it in. The one in my truck is rather large with lots of stuff, where as the one on my bike is smaller and more specific to it possible use.
@@TheGlobalTravelr I agree Bear buckets and all their stuff is amazing, we bought 2 of the buckets 1 was the deluxe and the other was the regular one.

I have "pads" in my kits for large bleeds. I use equine stretch wrap to snuggly hold the pad. The equine wrap is the same as human wrap, just way cheaper.
I'd add rolaids, immodium, Vaseline, ibuprofen, benadryl, eye drops, straight needle, lighter, lots more actual MEDICAL supplies and less random prepper items.
Adventure medical makes some really good medical kits for an affordable price, and you can add some trauma items for pretty cheap. If you’re looking for a ifak just go with North American rescue you can build your own or get them already assembled.

I have several different kits and supplies and this was the first one I ever bought. Yes, I supplement all my kits and with this I added a tourniquet, Neosporin, vented chest seal, tube of petroleum jelly, some stop bleed powder, some more gauze, some packets of OTC headache and stomach pills, and a snakebite kit as there's snakes where I live. No IFAK can have everything and this is survival plus first aid, this the poncho, ferro rod, etc. More as an IFAK I like the Rhino rescue version they have one for abt $70 it's better, more pure first aid. Oh, I also put a black sharpie in the kit.
I'd pull the fire starter and maybe the poncho and little "multi-tool". I have lots of those in other bags and kits. I'd add more gauze strips and pads, bandaids, aspirin and Tylenol, a usable length of tape, some quick clot and a decent Leatherman-ype multi-tool.
Maybe a tourniquet? Although I've heard it can do more harm than good if you don't know how to use it. I noticed another comment about an Israeli bandage, that would be helpful too
