  • This tractor had sat in a shed since 1963 I brought it home last year and got it running. The first time it starts, i just let it run from what was in the carburetor, so it doesn't run long. The second start its running from the vacuum tank. It's needs some fine tuning yet but I'm happy with how it turned out. thanks for watching!

      Jean German Uboats also used similar rod in hole on edge of flywheel to kick them over if they did not have enough compressed air for cylinder air injection.

    How do you prevent the bar to get stuck in the flywheel and blow the whole thing into pieces?

    • @justinstearns9723
      @justinstearns9723 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mariano Adolfo Nardi The holes in the flywheel are angled in such a way that the bar slides up and tilts back out as it starts turning.

      This Cat is a ‘29. I found it by accident talking to a fellow at a engine show. I was able to purchase the tractor from the grandson of the original owner. It was used mainly to pull a combine in the Pacific Northwest. It’s been used very little as near as I can tell. It was stuck when I brought it home. Previous owner said they would get it out once a year a drive it around. Then in ‘64 they found it was stuck so they just left it in the shed until I came around.

    • @brucepetty3152

      That is the engines flywheel, there is no starter so you must bar the engine over manually
      Good question.

    • @annachrissy4874
      @annachrissy4874 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruce Petty Is that how all of these model Cats were started?

    • @annachrissy4874
      @annachrissy4874 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you inspired me to look up Cat 60! For some reason, I don’t think that starting system with an open flywheel just in front of the operator’s feet is gonna meet OSHA standards. :)
