The way you split the screen to show how your using your hands and feet is very helpful. You make great instructional videos and I hope to see more. Thanks
Jim I have enjoyed every lesson. I am 75 live in Utah an no pedal steel instructors hear so I have paid fo three on line lessons but I have to say your way of teaching is by far the best you explain where an old man can under stand. If you desire to have a monthly pay count me in. Keep up the good work are you still playing on the road
Hi, Jim. We are discussing licking them back up again. They do cost money to produce so we are looking at monetization methods going forward. Please let me know if you have any ideas in that regard moving forward. Thanks, Jim.
@@freedomseeker01 patreon or another paywall. Make a series and allow us to buy it. I literally just got my first rig this morning and I found your videos and wish you had more!
Thanks, Nicholas. I appreciate the comment. Got more coming out soon and a webinar. Please see my reply to Eric Bird below. Hope to see you at our upcoming webinar.
I love your method of teaching! I’m just starting after a career in music but decided I want to spend the rest of my life being frustrated by this amazing instrument! Not sure if you know Steve Palousek but he’s been a long time friend and was my Steel player in the studio and live so I’ve had the best but now I want to learn! Thanks again
Hi Jim, I appreciate you sharing the lessons. Great arrangements and explained well so we can play them. Can you tell me where I can find part 2 of sleep walk? Thank you.
Hey Jim, very cool to see you doing these videos. These are some great lessons. Practicing "In the Mood" & "Tom Dooley" riffs brings back so many memories as a kid. Dad would be extremely proud. Hope all is well with you guys out there. Keep it going man!
Hi, Travis! Great to hear from you. Thank you so much. I think about your dad all the time. There's no way I would be doing what I'm doing today if it hadn't been for your father. Love you. Please stay in touch.
Love your lessons. Doyou think you could do a lesson on J.J. Walkers Up Against The Wall from his Terilinga album. The solo and padding are so cool but hard to figure out.
Hey Jim, there are a bunch of us out here that love your playing, your tone, your instruction, and would love to hear more from you. Is there a lesson 5-"Sleepwalk" Part 2?
That one is shot but not yet posted. Producers are working on monetization to continue. We know the interest is there. We just need to figure out how to get the production paid for.
@@freedomseeker01 Unfortunately no, but it gave me the desire to learn how to play it. I was 69 years old when someone traded me one of my Martin’s for his MSA. I got my Mullen G2 in October. Honestly I’m only playing about 1 1/2 years due to a bad back injury. I live alone a try to practice 5 hours a day, it also gives me something to do. Thanks for looking in.
@@freedomseeker01 I suppose I can give 3hrs a day . I'm a bass player myself. I'd like to try the 10 string pedal steel . I've loved this instrument all my life .
Jim. Your videos are great so clear & sound excellent - Great voice & explanation on each lesson - Wish my ShoBud Pro 1 had the brillance of your Mullen - Playing a Session 500 no devices
Hi Edward. Thanks. Kudos to my production team at King West Media Group. Thanks for the compliment on my voice and presentation. I try to explain things as best I can so you can understand the concepts and put them to immediate use. Your ShoBud Pro 1 is a good guitar. To be honest, I've never cared for the Session 500 but that's just me. Hundreds of players love them. I like your idea of keeping it simple. I use a little delay and a mild chorus, both just stomp pedals. The Peavey LTD was a great amplifier, had one 15. Now I prefer the Nashville 112, but like to use two of them downstream of the stereo chorus.

Hey Jim...really appreciate any help I can get, especially free...Steve Benzian does a lesson on SleepWalk that's on TH-cam so I am combining parts of both of your lessons. Voice is nice and clear and pronounciation is very good..thats important. Keep up the good work!!
Jim is retired to Tennessee. We made these videos in Montana. I have footage for one more but haven't been able to justify the time it takes to do the post as we did them all for free. Maybe after I get past all the upcoming work on the calendar... Thanks for asking. We appreciate that you are out there, Roy.
Jim would you list what equipment you are using as far as stomp pedals, amps, etc. I think I read where you are using Nashville 112's. If so can you list what speaker are in the amps and the settings that you have on the amps. I would be willing to subscribe to a utube site and pay for your lessons. Paul Franklin has a site that you can subscribe to with prices listed. Check those out and you should be able to come up with a price. I get much more out of your teaching materials than those currently available.
Hi, Leanna. Thanks so much for watching! We have recorded lesson 5 but not yet done post production. We need to find a way to monetize these in order to pay for the production. It is not a lot but there is a lease payment on the studio, lots of cameras and at least 3 people involved in each shoot, plus quite a bit of time putting it all together. We are considering a subscription channel but frankly are hesitant to launch when so many people want content for free. If you were to subscribe to a channel with new content from me on on a regular basis, what would you want to see next? What do you think would be a fair price?
@@freedomseeker01 I am a complete beginner at 68 years old. My husband plays the guitar and I play the radio. I just bought a used Sho Bud 10 string. Mark (my producer) already discussed this with you. Yes, it is an F minor as originally written but the actual chord is established by whoever is padding underneath the lead ride. The melody does support the Fm underneath it. Thanks for your input.

I read where he uses a little delay and a mild chorus Boss Super Chorus CH-1. The rate is very low and the depth is very deep, both just stomp pedals.
Curious beginner searching for my sound, Are you in E9 tuning?
2nd part ???
Plays a fuckin’ sick riff... “that ain’t so bad”
Is it possible to tutor me on the basics?
Sounds wierd playing F instead of F minor.......
You in C6
