    I'm a 78 year old Vietnam vet with two tours and a purple heart for each tour (medivaced out) . Vietnam , yeah right, well we know how that turned out. Check out the Wall. I am so proud of you guys and what you accomplished . I followed many of the battles on the news, but that doesn't do justice for what you went through. Thank you all so very much for what you did and continue to do. I don't see anyone running for the border to avoid duty. I ended up doing my twenty and retired in 1975 with 100%, but many of my friends didn't make it. Again thanks again......Ken , Marina CA CPT US Army retied. RIP SSG Barraza and SGT Brehm.

      Than you , Sir. 3 of my uncles served in Vietnam, and thankfully, they all came back as whole as they could. I served too, and did my little bit. Thank you for what you did, for having the strength to carry on, and for the love to remember your brothers. It may not be much, but Thank You.

      Thank you Kenneth for your service. I appreciate the men and women like yourself. Because it's you folks who give me the freedom I have today. Some of these hate spewing protesters probably don't know you put yourself and your family's wellbeing on the line for us. God bless and keep our soldiers. And God bless America.

    To see strong men in tears... As a civilian, I can never (and will not pretend) understand the what you guys went through, but after hearing your story, I will promise you this: that I will live my life to the fullest extent possible, so that you guys will know that your loss was not in vain. And the freedom you fought and sacrificed for, will be returned, by the very People and Constitution you swore to defend. Thank you so much. I don't know how much weight my words may carry, but what you did means everything to me. And not just me, but the millions of Americans who are living free and sleeping easy tonight, Thank you.

    I am a 70 year old USMC Viet Nam veteran who was stationed for a year inside a supply depot. I know what survivor syndrome is. Our base was charged about once every other month and when the patrol went out the next morning to scout, no bodies were found but those guarding our walls swore up and down they killed hundreds of the North Viet Nam regulars. I was shot at periodically walking the lot looking for goods that the computer said we still had, just fortunate I was quick and they were bad shots. Thank you folks for putting this on the internet. We did not have the internet or anything like it when we got back. Hell we got spit on and sworn at by just about everyone and we were just doing what we were told. Jim F. MN

      Semper Fi Devil Dog. My grandfathers were Vietnam vets and I've heard some of what you all went through....including what you were welcomed home by. It's disgraceful and I want to thank you for your service. A simple thank you would bring tears to my grandfathers eyes when I was young and I never understood why, but after coming home myself, albeit nothing like what you came home to, there were no parades, no thank yous, and no gratitude. Even on a flight bringing home a marine who gave everything, civilians cussed, condemned, and complained about having to wait before deboarding the flight. It's sad what our country has become

    I remember serving with SSG Barraza. At the time it was around Christmas of 2005 there in Al Qaim. I was a Navy SIGINT operator temporarily assigned with the Rangers. It was my first experience rolling out with these guys in the Strykers and take care of business on the border. These guys were very professional and fierce warriors.

    • @Mav10

    • @machesky9
      @machesky9 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      A lot of Marines do not know or realize how much they miss it until they get out. You are excited to live a "normal" life and because you were in and around other people similar to you, you do not realize how different you are in the outside world. Adapting to these things kind of hit you and that is what surfaces feelings of missing the Marines and the people you served with.

      Getting out of the army after 5 years and two Iraq deployments, although not as long as your 13 years, getting out and becoming a civilian and realizing that I'd never again have what I had in the army in my friends and purpose was extremely difficult to deal with. I got out in 2011 and it's still hard. I miss the shitty parts right along with the good parts.

      If you read this, get help and get it quick. Don't be to too proud to ask. We were to taught to be tough and self-reliant but that is BS. NO one will think less of you for seeking help and you should not consider yourself weak for asking. There are somewhere around 20 vets a day committing suicide and they and you deserve better. Even if you are not suicidal but only unhappy and angry, get help. Call 1-800-273-8255, press 1 and you will get a live person to talk to, or call your nearest VA Hospital of clinic 24/7. Also, try the Disabled Veterans of America, you don't have to be disabled. Or, the Veterans of Foreign Wars. There are other organizations available and willing. No matter where you get help, GET IT. I wasted years, don't waste another day. Vietnam 69-70

    I've been a fan of Article 15, BRC, Range 15, etc. for several months now. Watching the videos, I never guessed the pain that is behind these faces in those hilarious scenes.
    You guys are the best. Keep up the good work.

    I think this is the only video on TH-cam that has no dislikes, obviously deserves it, and quite frankly one of the best videos on the site.
    I'm not one, but sincerely thank you to all those that have served in one capacity or another.
