I really love the way that you explain every detail of your sewing illustrations. It has helped me a lot since I purchased my first computerized sewing machine. 😊 Thanks!
Bought this as my first machine a couple days ago and your videos have been greatly helpful ! Great pace, modulation, and clear explanation without extra unimportant content. You are really great at teaching. Thanks !
I want to thank you for helping me get out of twin needle mode- I couldn’t find ANY information on how to do it online or in my manual. You saved me!! ❤
All of these videos have been SO helpful! I lost my mom in August and she was the one who taught me as a young girl. It felt like I was learning with her again. Thank you!
New subscriber here 😊I have been so confused looking for my first sewing machine and came across your videos on this one. I am going to purchase it today! Your explanations on every feature and showing us how to use it has given me confidence that I can do this! Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed this tutorial; it has changed my sewing game. Thank you I always thought I was in the fastest sewing mode, and now I know I was not. I was always used to a centered needle, and thanks to you I can continue with a centered needle. Thank you again you are very much appreciated.
Thank you so much..I just set my CS5055 sewing machine by watching your videos..I'm a beginner so I have no idea about sewing..so thank you,new subscriber here..❤
Thank you thank you thank you! I just bought my first machine and I'm so intimidated! My mom passed away 25 years ago and, unfortunately, she never taught me to sew and she was amazing at it. I figured it's been long enough and it's time for me to figure it out lol. This is the first video I have watched of yours and it taught me more than I expected to learn in one sitting. Thank you again, so much, for taking the time to make these videos. It is very much appreciated! You got yourself a new subscriber!
You’ve inspired me to ask my daughter if she wants me to teach her more sewing than she may currently knows! I hope you are enjoying your learning-to-sew journey!
@@djtheriault6324 I think that's a wonderful idea and I hope she takes you up on it ❤ It's so much better to learn from your own mother than it is to learn from TH-cam videos!
Best instructor in the world. You are so techsavvy! I for one hadn't realized that this machine has a lockstitch or speed control feature because it's not obvious from looking at the machine. Your deep dive demo will save me so much since I might have overlooked this machine otherwise. Thank you for educating us!
I had also bought this machine off Amazon and I do agree the instructions aren't great. I had combed through the instructions and they had nothing on how to set the default settings. I had learned on an old Bernina with a center needle position and regular straight stitch/tension etc so relearning a Brother machine is SO different!
Thank you so much for posting this it has helped me so much. I just bought my CS5055 and have not researched these settings. Very informational and easy to follow you.
Thank you so much! this tutorial is exactly what I needed to start my first project. I had bought this machine because this one had great reviews for beginners.
I have never commented on a video before , but I just wanted you to know that this was the most helpful, concise sewing video I have watched in a very long time. I can’t find my instruction manual for my machine anywhere and the Brother website wasn’t very helpful. So thank you very much and I already subscribed and liked your video. Looking forward to watching your other videos!
omg thank you so much just got this exact machine yesterday and I have never sewn before I used your other videos to start and the speed was so fast I was sad I couldn't make the speed slower but then this video. thanks again
Thank you thank you 🙏🏻 😘 I thought I broke my machine. But it was me who accidentally set the needle in the down position. Duh🤦🏻♀️ Many thanks. I’m signing onto your channel. 👍
Thanks for the video, 🎉My boyfriend just gave me one of these for my birthday, 😊 I’m really excited to try It out! Your videos have been really helpful!!!
Thank you so much for this for easy to follow tutorial! I am learning to sew and I am having a little difficulty with collars and sleeves. Would there ever be a time you may demonstrate the correct way to do it explained in your easy to follow method? Thank you, very much.
I just purchased this machine second hand. It seems that the tension is messed up. The thread is very loose on the bottom. I tried turning the tension dial in both directions but it remains loose. Do you have a video on this? Your videos are great. So clear and easy to understand ! Thank you!
Hello my buttons don’t seem to do what yours do? I have this exact machine but maybe I’m missing a step. My settings reset everytime I turn off the machine. I labeled my machine like yours but the settings don’t change the way your does.
Please show how to move the needle with thread in it. I hit something and can't remember what I did. Over the top of the bobbing. 5/8 1 inch. Thank you 😊 Oh I have the CS5055...Brother
So I got the needle on 01 position for in the center but the zigzag shows 3.5. When I try to lower it to zero to just have a straight stitch with needle in center then the needle position moves to the left as I’m adjusting the swing to be zero. What to do?
After finishing sewing when take fabric sewing find out both stitch separate it doesn’t hold by way I do enjoy your tutorial many time I cannot remember I am old lady
thank you sooooo much, I just ordered my machine today as a matter of fact, just took all you're notes, and why would someone use the the twin stitch??? just asking, I'm sorta a beginner, just sewed baby clothes, easy stuff, haven't sewn in 40 years lol, got interested again. thank you again hun!
You are so welcome! Sometimes people use the twin needle to mimic the look of a cover stitch. I’ve also seen it used for decorative stitches. It makes a really cool looking twin row of the stitch. I’m going to try it myself this summer. Hopefully, I’ll make a video about it. Thanks for watching!
Love your channel! I make junk journals and scrapbooks. Which sewing machine do you recommend… Brother cs5055 or the Lx3817? I am a beginner.. looking to purchase a simple machine. Not wanting to invest a lot of money. Thank you!!! I’m from Waco, Texas
The LX3817 is a good machine and really easy to operate. But, it doesn’t have many decorative stitches. Is that something you’d be interested in having?
@@momdoesstuff would be nice to have a few more stitch patterns. I’m nervous about computerized machine… is the CS you demonstrated on this video easy for a beginner?
@@shirleyatwood2193 It's not hard at all, but I think it may be overkill for what you want. The Brother MZ53 might be a good middle ground. It's mechanical, but has a lot of decorative stitches. Here's a video I did comparing all the machines I have. Look in the description and there a time stamp for the MZ53. th-cam.com/video/8HiN9hzbYeM/w-d-xo.html Let me know what you think!

I would rethread the top carefully. Make sure the presser foot is raised when you feed the thread through the tension disc channel.
hi there i don't think my machine has those settings, whenever i press the buttons bf i turn it on i shows a blinking F3 and no idea 😢

Oh and this is a CS5055
What is the circle knob with number 1 to 7 for? Infront of the needle. The round button with the #3,4,5 in black.
Thats the thread tension. Most of the time you will use the numbers between 3 & 5.
@@momdoesstuff I have another question. So when you sew, at the end, how do you close the threat? Just go back and forth for a couple times?
Thank You! 😊
You are an amazing teacher.
Awww, thank you so much!!
Thank you struggling to use zip foot on this machine just broke needle any help appreciated
Oh no! Are you hitting the foot, or the zipper?

This is fabulous. The booklet that comes with the machine should at least deal with the numbers 1 and 2.
Lol, I agree. They did a good bit of 'assuming' in that manual. Thanks for watching!
What size of needle does the machine use please
All home needles will fit. Size depends on the type of fabric. This might help you decide th-cam.com/video/1JPXbgwhqPY/w-d-xo.html
A question : How can I change (Release) the Footer brother cs5055?
The presser foot just snaps off. Press down on it.

Does the Brother CS50 have automatic tension? Does any machine have auto tension?
not sure if i missed the answer but should the numbers always be set at 2.5 and 3.5?
It really depends on which stitch pattern you are using.
