Fond memory brought up by Jackson’s Melissa and Doug present. When I was little (like 20 years ago now) Melissa and Doug had just started and weren’t as big as they are now. A puzzle my parents had got for me lost a piece and my mom called the number on the back and reached Melissa and Doug themselves working out of their own house at the time and making the wooden toys by hand. They happily sent us a new piece for the puzzle and we’re so wonderful and helpful. We never forgot it and have always tried to support them when we can. 💕 So happy for the success that they have had.
I still remember leaving a Hummus sandwich, baby carrots and celery sticks and glass of water for Santa when I must have been 6 years old because I was worried about all the sugar he was eating and we had a cat at the time that would drink ANY liquid in a cup....except for water. Santa wrote a nice response saying "Thank you for your concern about my health, but if you want a cookie alternative- PB&J is fine" 🤣
It’s actually impressive how Santa does so well with his deliveries in North America after he gets to drink lots of beer and whisky over here in British isles. 😉😂😂

Merry Christmas!! This is probably one of my favorite videos! I loved getting to see Jackson opening his gifts from Santa and to see how appreciative and excited he was! It's nice to see such non flashy, fun kid toys, unlike what other kids are getting nowadays. I definitely cried while watching because you guys are such great parents and are setting an example for how I want to be one day! My aunt and uncle always do “high, low, and grateful” with their kids at dinner every night. Everyone takes turns saying their high of the day, low of the day, and what they were grateful for. They get to see their children’s days through their perspective and the kids get to hear about their parents day in a way that may not normally be shared. I do it on my birthday each year (what my high, low, and grateful for the previous year was) and it’s really fun. Jackson might be too young for it, but it’s so helpful to teach kids that each day is full of many emotions, and gratitude.
It means a lot that you still went to the trouble of filming your Christmas Day for us - I for one totally loved and appreciated it !!! Seeing Jackson’s little face and his wonderment at Christmas was magical - and believe me, these videos will become SO precious to you as they get older - my daughters are 23 & 20 and still love Christmas, but you only have a few brief years of the special ‘magic’ - oh and that spread Jen ?? When my son was about 5 he started a new thing…..”call me when the cinnamon rolls are ready”….. then he and his dad would get up and we’d open gifts. He’s now 44. with his own family, and it’s still “ wake me when the cinnamon rolls are ready. “. 😝.
Love what you said about asking Jackson his favourites! My best friend did something similar with her family as a child, where they talk about daily "favorites and least-favorites" for every family member. They'd write it in a journal every day, along with some bonuses (like "Saturday Night Funnies," talking about something funny that happened that week, or "Friday Gratefuls," where they say something that they're grateful for). We're both college students now, but we still have fun looking at some of the things she said when she was really little!

Little ones are so much fun. My grand daughter is only 8 months old this year so she really didn't know but next year, it's on. When my son was little any time he got a new toy, he had to pick out an old one to donate to the Homeless Shelter. It had to be a functioning not torn up one. We would gather them up and take them so he could give them away himself. He actually enjoyed doing it almost as much as getting a new toy.
We got our 2 year old the Rollin Rovee when he was 18 months and he was terrified of it still to this day he runs from it in a panic! I love videos like this! Hope you all had a very magical Christmas!

I absolutely love your Christmas videos. The amazement on a child's face is priceless. Watching Jackson open his gifts reminds me of when my son was that young. He's now 16 and is still amazed Christmas morning and he's still very grateful for what he gets, whether big or small. You both are doing an amazing job at raising Jackson well. I'm sure he will forever be grateful to both of you.

Growing up I had a bit of a different experience with things from Santa. Our Santa presents were never wrapped and hardly ever in their original wrapping. I now know that was all because my mom had the best way to set up Christmas morning and that was to always remove things from their packages and get them ready. Back in the day, things were a bit harder to remove from all the wrappings with the twist ties and hard plastics, but she took the time to remove all of that before hand so everything was ready to play with. I never had to wait for something to be assembled, or to find batteries, or to figure out how something worked. As the mom and now the grandma who sets up for Santa, I see now how it was more work for mom to do all of that but I also see the benefits. I also now argue with people every year who say the stuff from Santa should be wrapped. It just never was for me. Thanks mom and thanks to the both of you for sharing something as personal as your Christmas morning with all of us and for getting it edited and up so soon lol. All of our kids and grandkids are grown, so this was incredibly fun. My heart explodes when I see what a fine young man he is becoming. Your Christmas put a smile on my face! Usually have a house full of family Herr for Christmas Eve, but last week my son was exposed to covid so we had to cancel. We made the best of it...just me, my husband, and son. But my son kept apologizing, which was heartbreaking. We assured him he has nothing to be sorry for. We will have a holiday re do with our family, but it was for sure a very different Christmas Eve for us. Man I miss being a kid on Christmas morning, but glad it happened. That Jeep Jackson got? Gotta say, I'm a tad bit jealous! With my Hot Wheels had working headlights! Very impressed with Jenn's culinary skills! Food looked so delicious! Would like to know what Tim Got from Santa too. Being with family and friends for Christmas, so cheerful, happy and blessed!! Can't wait for next year! And as always Jenn and Tim, thank you for letting us all in to your beautiful home....love you guys!!

All of our kids and grandkids are grown, so this was incredibly fun. My heart explodes when I see what a fine young man he is becoming. I am especially pleased that you let Jackson know who gave him a gift and to say thank you to them for thinking of him. I am not a fan of families that just let their kids think everything came from Santa, and yes, some people do. Merry Christmas All!
My daughter got Rollin Rovee last year for Xmas and he randomly falls asleep while she's playing with him allllll the time. Silly Rovee!

One year we made footprints with boots stepped in flour. We had them from the fireplace to the tree. The kids freaked out. It was the best!

Your Christmas put a smile on my face! Usually have a house full of family Herr for Christmas Eve, but last week my son was exposed to covid so we had to cancel. We made the best of it...just me, my husband, and son. But my son kept apologizing, which was heartbreaking. We assured him he has nothing to be sorry for. We will have a holiday re do with our family, but it was for sure a very different Christmas Eve for us.
