  • One week after the second biggest storm in recorded history TC Winston hit Koro Island the VOU team were there. What we saw was heartbreaking, but we were reassured with the continued strength and kindness of the people of Koro Island. Hearing the stories of the wrath of this cyclone we know this is only the start of the road to rebuilding this island paradise. Every one of us has the capacity to help our communities in any way that we can, and every hand that reaches out to help a fellow person always has an impact.

When I went back back to fiji my relatives told me that they crawled from the house to the village church. The next day, word went around saying that "dua na bunigone e sa mate. O koya lou vukataki gauna o koya sa qase tiko ki na vale ni lotu. O koya qai camuta dua nai vuni niu".

Hello, my name is Vincenzo and i am 20 years old. actually i am wwoofing all around new zealand, work as a volunteer in organic farms. Is very sad see what the cyclone Winston did and for this motivation i want to help people rebuild the villages. I want to ask if is possible go in Koro island and do a kind of wwoofing, which i mean work and help the local in exchange of food and accomodation. I already try to search volunteer opportunities on different website but the problem is that looks more voluntourism that a volunteer experience and also are very expensive for my budget. I will appreciate give an hand to people that need real help. I hope to heard you soon, thank you in advance
    kind regards,
    Vincenzo

Great idea.. wwoofing, worktrading, and global changemakers are a very large network on this planet.. tens to hundreds of millions work each and every day to complete Paradise on Earth, as their sole focus in life.. this may be calling in a very large mission to build Koro in highest blueprint possible, by all masters of all fields coming together to design the most evolved location on Earth.
This would mean we would all be moving there within this next year, purchasing lands, becoming citizens, implementing highest blueprint to showcase to humanity the way forward as Humanity/ Civilization 2.0

I wonder if there much left of the Tongans who were deserted to Koro island from Tonga by the King George Tupou 1st.They were deserted to there due to their uncompromising belief to stay with the methodist church and not the new church,The Free Church of Tonga.Just wondering if any descentants are still left and if they still carry any Tongan names!
