FILM DESCRIPTION:
The first major breakdancing film, Breakin' stars Lucinda Dickey as a dancing student who dislikes the hidebound regimen of her demanding teacher. She breaks free from terpischorean tradition when she befriends a bunch of street kids devoted to breakdancing. Within a year of its release, Breakin' spawned a sequel, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.

I remember seeing this movie in 1984 along with Beat Street I always felt this was the better movie.. Shout out to all of the great dancers that performed. This got Ice T and Jean Claude Vandamm on their way In Hollywood along with Christopher McDonald who would later play Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore. Also the black and white Nikes worn by Turbo are the exact shoes worn now by the younger generation today 40yrs later. R.I.P Shabba Doo and Popin Taco.

X men clan we witness most of this as a kid growing up in California my cousin's and friends grew up in this stuff I wished I could have been around it mostly but I recognize evilness of men who is not educated just knucklehead scenes so I did miss out on a lot of the stuff in this direction without being a Godly person I miss the era I'm 44 the good memories
I still can't believe this was 40 years ago! Feels like yesterday i was a kid watching this. I still think the 80's was the best time for America! We were #1 no one messed with us and everyone had money nothing like today with the drop in quality of life. We need Ronald Regan back to save us from all these weak inept presidents for the past 16 years they have cost America so much! Thanks for the video a blast from the past!

I grew up in The Bronx. I remember being 6 or 7 when they were filming this. Then meeting the breakdancing kid with the goggles. The little brother. When the movie came out, we loved it. It was all the things we were doing back then. Tagging trains and subways. Breakdancing on a piece of linoleum or cardboard. Opening the firehydrants. Hanging out and throwing parties in abandoned buildings. Breakdancing in the subway. And always getting chased by the cops. I wonder how kids are growing up in The Bronx now a days.

I'm here to tell my western friends that this movie was broadcast to the whole country on CCTV in Chinese mainland in 1980s, about 86 ~ 88, and it caused a national sensation at that time. What makes me feel very amazing is that in the relatively closed atmosphere of China that year, Chinese teenagers were imitating the dance movements in the movie, and they were able to do very well! So I must say that this is a great movie that can change the world. Thanks to the vision that American movies bring to a better life for mankind！

Great post the only flaw is the two beach scenes were left out and both were Iconic along with the Songs. You have Work Your Body but Freak Show on the Dance Floor was left out, that's the scene where Jean- Claude Van Damme was dancin as an extra. Still a great job😊

Thank you. I didn't want to just do a carbon copy, I wanted to put all this together with my own spin on it. I could easily have done that, but didn't want to take away to much goodness from the film, it's also to encourage others to jump back in time and to pick up the movie again to watch it.
