The next chapters became even more special to me after seeing they were actually IN THE MOVIE. I couldn’t believe it. I recommend everyone sees the movie it’s some of the best cinema I’ve seen

The Next Chapters were in the movie was what REALLY surprised me! I genuinely thought it was just a design akin to or is design referenced to the movies. I DIDN'T expect it to be immortalized somewhat on the big screen!

@parepticon7043 I noticed them near the end when Miles was tied to the punching bag. The camera pans down to the shoes and you can see the dots on the collar of the shoe.
The more I see these shoes the more I like them. First shoe was about the man and the 2nd is a reflection of his journey. This has been the best review so far.
By far the best breakdown of the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Across The Spiderverse' i've seen on TH-cam. While other sneaker TH-camrs merely just go thru the obvious differences to the Chicago, Jacques actually ties it back to the film by explaining the reason for the design & its storytelling. And having the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Into The Spiderverse' for comparison is the final chef's kiss to this excellent unboxing. Fantastic work Jacques!

If you truly are fan of animated series you would understand why this newer version is a lot better in terms of characteristic than what it was previously but with sneaker heads and resellers are more attracted to the 1st pair just because its pretty much a Chicago 1 with icy sole and 3M effect
Heavily agree, majority the sneaker heads hating on the 2nd pair and praising the 1st one with the sole core reason being it’s not a Chicago. These are more for comic book/animated series fans.
The reason for the Next Chapters looks is due to Miles glitching in another universe. Causing it to look so unique
The dots are from how comics were printed back in the day before digital coloring. “Kirby dots” is how Jack Kirby used to depict energy and super powers. The movie used the dots as a style homage to older printed comics. Sorry Kut had to get my “ um actually “ on lol 😂

everybody forgets the glow in the dark sole that glows white. i think that's the coolest part.

After watching the movie there is a effect that happens during the film and he actually ends up gaining the new version of the shoe don't want to spoil anything anymore than that.

In all honesty, Origin Story is furthest away from being a canon accurate shoe. It's more of just 'inspired.' If you look back frame by frame for Into the Spiderverse, Miles wore 2013 Chicago highs. Maybe even fake/rep 2013's, as it had red soles, with red jumpman on the tongue, but no 'Air' text and no jumpman on the heel. Miles might've also custom painted his midsole stitching black
If you wanna buy authentic quality shoes that's canon accurate, the Next Chapters is your shoe. His Chicagos glitch to Next Chapters near the end of the 2nd movie. First appearance at the stairs, where Uncle Aaron leads Miles to the rooftop. The shoes are even more clear when he's tied to the punching bag and being hoisted up. The released Next Chapters' Air Jordan wings logo is a bit different though compared to their 3d billboard ad
I like the origin story 1s but the across the spider verse shoes are very vibrant and nice aswell

I like to think that the first shoes that look like the Chicago’s represent miles copying the original (peter) and the second represent miles having found his own style

Watched the 1st movie again, and you can see that the dots on ths shoes are also on the characters animation. they all have dots on there faces,clothes,etc... Like the sketch marks,the dots are also there.
Saw the 2nd part too, and the circles are like the glitches in the movie
The spiderman across the spider verse one is the orgail glitch out, his shoes glitched into the new one in the movie.
The first one is just another Chicago with some dots…the second one is much better crafted, tells a better story and stands out as a work of art…it will skyrocket in price for the collectors in the future
For the across the spiderverse, If you didn't know NOW you know, if put under blacklighting, or under the sun for about 15 - 20 seconds, the soles glow in the dark which gives off a pinkish color/hue
I just appreciate how the second one was actually in the movie and explained how it ended up looking the way it does. So dope!

I just bought the across version and it is my very first Jordan 1. I feel really bad after spending that much on a shoe but I hope once I have them on hand I'll be satisfied with my decision
The Chicagos are part of Miles' style identity now, with him actually looking for it in Across and glitching with him and changing designs entirely after....
I love mine that glow wishing it had the web design and box from the first version.

If you don’t know, it actually showed up in the movie when miles went to the different dimension and started glitching, and then his shoes got all glitched up
Wore my pair at the theaters ofc no reaction from people but my friends did catch their attention on my Spider-Man fit with a black spidey and black shorts and with spidey socks and finally with the across the spider-verse shoes but I think there might obviously be another pair for beyond the spider-verse! Perhaps a darker version of the Air Jordan 1’s if you saw closer to what miles prowler was wearing but I could be wrong
I have both pair and i love them but what I really want is the Earth 42 Prowler jordan 1 utilities... those... I need those!
These are the closest 85 cut Chicago that we have at the moment: that toe box and the large tongue.why didn’t they do this silhouette on the L&F I wonder… these spider man look better on feet!

I LOVE the second pair! Not just cuz of the unique design and play off the Chicago color way but also cuz I’m more so a nerd than a sneaker head and the 2nd movie was phenomenal to me, from the soundtrack to the cliffhanger at the end. I hate that they’re getting so much hate (but love it as well cuz easier for me and others to get) simply because Chicagos have snakeheads in a chokehold. The day I got them I ran outside and held them up to the sun for a bit and then locked myself in a closet just to see them glow in the dark. Def my favorite pair of sneakers I own! 👟 🔴 🕷️
as others have pointed out, now i understand why the Next Chapters have that look, but late in the movie, theres a third pair that is on screen for about a second, wonder if that one will show up next year😮

@@devileye90 When Miles is in the wrong universe tied up. The bad guy was wearing a Jordan 1 that looked like a UNC toe but the collar was white instead of black, there was no swoosh on the shoe too. Sorry it's a little vague but no spoilers lol.

Actually he´s actually wearing the Across the Spiderverses at the very end of the movie, they show it for a brief second. They change from the regular J1s Chicagos to the Across the spiderverse Version. Can´t tell you why, cuz that would be a spoiler. We also got a tease for the third J1s pair that may be releasing for the beyond the spiderverse. Man everything about and around this movie is just filled with awesome details.

They look the way they do on the ATSP version is because in the end where he starts glitching like crazy his Jordan’s glitched too , the shoe is more of a Jordan 1 out of its universe glitching
I had the "origin story"....and i'll absolutely love them.... not just they were because the color way and the similarity to the original Chicago one85' (the shoe that started at all for me), but the ties to Miles Morales. Which miles of being mixed races... just like myself...
This shoe has a special place in my heart for me ...
But ..... I do understand the appeal of the new "WHAT THE ONEZ"... and just because I like the origin stories better... that absolutely does not mean that I will not pick them up
They should definitely release the colorway for the Prowler Miles Morales Jordan 1. Looks kinda dope and is definitely different
Longtime fan of Spider-Man. Recent fan of AJ1s. I always wanted the first editions the resell went way too crazy. After the second movie came out I realized how much more special & beautiful the next chapters were. To my surprise I got them a bit over retail. Origins are not in the movie & I would have preferred something a bit more shuttle added to an OG 85 Chicago since Miles wore that shoe. Maybe added a spider or even replicate the actual shoe without the logos. I do love the origins but seeing them now it does look like an expensive pair of Chicago without many changes. But the next chapetas actually showing up in the movie & doing something WAY different with the same idea of the chicagos just hooked me. I think owners of the origins are salty that they probably paid so much after resell . & realized waiting a bit longer would have gotten you a better shoe. Either way I’d love both in my collection but I could die happy knowing that I attests got my hands on the next chapters 🕷️
When you watch the movie you’ll see the across the spider-verse sneaker when Miles glitches it’s awesome. Love this across the spider-verse sneaker.

I like the origin story more but I am not spending 800 on a sneaker I don't have Chicagos so I got the new ones for retail and I love them because I love Spiderman and I love Chicagos

the next jordan’s i personally think are going to be the utility 1 ones the prowler miles had on. Really unique and cool colors and it has a glowing sole like the past two, however i personally think the untility jordan 1s are ugly
Are those “Kirby Dots” or are they meant to rep zip/screen tone that’s used in the films?
There are Kirby Dots, but they are used when things come apart. The zip/screen tone fx are used to give the OG color texture on just about everything.
I dig your take on what the shoes are meant to rep for each film.

i think the new one is better. it is actually related to the movie which i love. i think the old one looks good but it’s not really unique since it looks so similar to chicagos. i do however wish the new pair has a unique box. they couldve reused the old box and i wouldn’t mind
“What the 1s” is a good take, but those dots are just simply a reference to Spot. Most sneaker heads keep getting it wrong because they don’t know any better. If anything, the second version should be called Earth-42s since that’s their variant or what the Chicagos were designed to look like in that dimension of the multiverse. Notice that he had the ogs on the first third of the movie. However, when he escaped the Spider Society and arrived at the dimension he thought was his original home, the Next Chapters were the first indicator that he was in the wrong dimension. Moreover, the different patterns don’t represent other Earths, but rather represent the bleak and hero-less dimension he found himself trapped in
The New ones are way better, more retro, and it's inspired by the movie there just awesome, it's like Chicago 1 Multiverse

Interesting enough Adidas made the official movie shoe, since Disney and Adidas has a contract. And because of that they had to change the shoes in the PlayStation game to Adidas and all the action figures had to change or look like AJ1s but not allowed to have the swoosh
I think both shoes represent the respective movie very well. And, I think people are going to cry about missing out on the chapter 2s later on.
