    Such an excellent video. I love that you took time to highlight anatomical and physiological specialties and adaptations in the bichir. The quality of the footage, of course, is also above par and gorgeous. I love that you mentioned the "death-roll" as well. Which I have not heard mention in my research of these Delhezi and Erpetoichthys calabaricus. I purchased two ropefish just over a month ago and recently heard them clacking a snail around in their tank one evening. I rose to look and saw just this: a snail had appeared dead earlier that day. I left it in the tank just to make sure it wasn't "sleeping" as they often do, half exposed. But evidently it gave off the proper chemical signature for the "rope-sters" as one had pinched the snails body into his mouth and was spinning vigorously about the tank, smacking the snail's shell against glass and rock and driftwood as it attempted to dislodge the body with centrifugal force and brute tactics. It was quite impressive even displayed by my juvenile ropefish.

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching the video and taking the time to leave a comment. I hope to film Erpetoichthys calabaricus in the near future. I have lots of ideas for them, and your experience with the snail is certainly one that I would love to film. However, I am a little concerned about the edge of the snail's shell cutting the ropefish as it spins. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. . .
