Dikke proficiat met 50 jaar Focus. Pierre van der Linden [ Drums ] , Thijs van Leer [ Hammond en Fluit ] en natuurlijk Menno Gootjes (guitar) en Udo Pannekeet (bass guitar) Geweldig goed concert. Wat een Band en dat al 50 jaar lang altijd zeer goed de concerten. Het maakt ze niet uit of ze in een Cafe staan te spelen of op een Festival, ze zijn er voor het publiek en dat laten ze smullen van hoogstandjes in de muziek. Heerlijk om te zien en te horen. Nog vele jaren erbij voor de liefhebbers van goede live muziek.
Thijs Van Leer and Pierre Van Linden still rocks! Thijs is so talented. Plus it's impressive how he plays flute and organ at the same time, and the hability he has to compose and improvise clever classical progressions.

The piece was done with synths and acoustic/electric guitar and synth accompaniment plus chorus, and it was slow paced and filled with like 10 variations, with a long duration (like 18 minutes long). This version makes it sound like what could have sounded like in the prime time of the original Focus.

Saw them play San Diego 1973. Jan Akerman and Van Leer were incredible in Sylvia and House of the King. Their classical and jazz influence is incredible! What a hybrid music. I THOUGHT THE GUITARRIST WAS JAN AKERMAN'S SON, he is that good! 😇😇😇❤

One of the greatest bands in the world. Followed Focus since my teens listening to Hocus Pocus, Sylvia, House of the King etc. Utterly superb musicianship. However, for me, always were better when Jan was with them.
"Eruption", on Moving Waves, is easily one of the all-time most beautiful and FASCINATING pieces of symphonic progressive rock brilliance ever recorded... ditto "Round Goes The Gossip" and many other tracks from this amazing band...!
My band Holding Pattern was booked with Focus to play Cascais Prog Festival in Portugal on our last tour but the Festival was canceled last minute. Was really looking forward to meeting Van Leer❤

Wat een geweldig concert! Fijn om te zien dat Focus geen verlopen band is! En dat na inmiddels nu 51 jaar! Thijs en Pierre zijn nog steeds top! Menno en Udo zijn eveneens geweldig!, Heb lang,lang geleden Focus gezien in toptijd. Maar anno 2020/2021 zijn ze niet minder als toen. Integendeel zelfs! 4 klasse muzikanten! En Menno is een geweldige gitarist, die niet onder doet voor de altijd veel geprezen Jan Akkerman. Menno wordt volgens mij steeds beter! Geweldige band, hoop ze gauw weer tezien in Nederland, in het theater of festival. Na al die Corona toestand, zou dat super zijn!
Geweldige gitarist inderdaad en wellicht minder grillig als Jan Akkerman..... Het is maar wat je mooi vind maar ik vind deze tig keer fijner om naar te luisteren als Jan(niet perse beter).
Ah the memories. Saw them at the Roundhouse Dagenham (!) in about ‘71, the power went off in the middle of Hocus Pocus and Van Leer played a ten minute flute solo!

En later tijdens het concert wordt het geluidsvolume zo extreem hoog dat je onmogelijk nog kan horen wat er wordt gespeeld. Daarom ben ik zo blij met opnames zoals deze.
Tja...de "Dutch Disease", zo respectloos naar de zich uitslovende band/muzikant. Als je je eigen ge-OH belangrijker vindt ga dan naar een kroeg ofzo, hoef je ook niet zo hard in elkaars oor te tetteren.....

Om in de voetsporen van JA te treden is een bijna onmogelijke opgave, maar Menno Gootjes lukt het geweldig! Hij speelt fantastisch! Jammer dat TvL en JA in onmin leven. Hoe prachtig zou het zijn als ze nog iets muzikaals samen zouden doen? Geweldige band! PvdL is nog altijd een top drummer en de bassist is retestrak! Oh ook even kudos voor de videomaker; geweldig in beeld gebracht! Ook topgeluid trouwens! Heerlijk van genoten!
