- A walk around Skipton in North Yorkshire, England.
We take a look at the market town of Skipton Yorkshire to see the Castle, High Street, The Canal and the great shops there!
Skipton is a market town in North Yorkshire just outside of the Yorkshire Dales, and situated on the Leeds to Liverpool canal.
The historic Skipton High Street is a cracking place to have a mooch around the shops and bars and restaurants so we take the cameras and enjoy a walk around a lovely sunny (but cold!) Skipton Town Centre
If you've been to Skipton you will already know how great it is to walk along the canal, and then up Skipton High Street to Skipton Castle so we'll try and recreate the experience for you here!

There’s a great chippy overlooking the canal basin you can see it at the beginning of the video ,eat in or take out ,there’s nothing better than sitting by the side of the canal eating fish & chips ,it’s always our first stop .
I was friends with a wonderful man who lived in Skipton. Sadly, he passed away a few months ago, and I miss him dearly. I live in Canada, and never had the opportunity to visit him there, but your video has given me a chance to discover how lovely Skipton is. This was almost like strolling along with him.

I like to walk and film and find the best places, then when I've stopped filming head straight back to the places I've spotted and try them out!

You should do a tour of Skipton woods it is my favourite place to walk especially in spring/summer time it's so beautiful with all the flowers.

I have been to Skipton many times it’s a lovely place. I think Ulverston is another little town well worth a visit.

The long boats at the beginning are well looked after. Looks like lots of room. Whole area very nice. So many shops. Great place to spend. Lot of time.thanks.

We have both passed by Skipton lots of times not actually realising how much a visit it's worth, thanks for informing us with your video.
I need one of the maps from the vending machine, between sheep st. and the high street. I have seen pics of the castle, but didn't realize it was right in town. LOL! I actually live in the U.S. LOL! I want the map because I would love to have maps from all areas of G.B. In reading the comments, I read you will return to Skipton on a market day. You read my thoughts. I look forward to that visit, when it's a bit warmer for you, of course! You will remember to pick up a map for me, won't you? I think it is really cute. Seriously, I loved the tour. Always wanted to see more of the northern areas. BTW, I always tap the👍 before I watch, because I know it's gonna be great, a bang up good time!

If you are ever in the Skipton area again I highly reccomend you visit Settle! A beautiful gem of a town!

Great vid Gimbal. Went to Skipton once in the summer. Loads of market stalls and a visit to the Castle. I can recommend the Fish & Chips from the shop in your video ( Bizzie Lizzie’s). Going to go again this summer.

I recognised it when getting to the Black Horse Pub where we had a conference and went round the castle. I also went for a trip on the canal. Yes it is a nice area.

If your still in the area Barnoldswick is only down the road.
Malton for food, Pickering for North Yorks Moors railway, Driffield for Sweet shop, Beverley for old world charm. Most of these have easy parking at this time of year.

I was in the back of the police van unfortunately. The day was Tuesday 4th January at 2pm. There was only a bit of snow covering the hills but in Harrogate there was plenty of snow.

We love skipton but always go on a Saturday sand if it's past 9.30 am can never get parked so we must try in the week.
I would like to see weston super mare never been interested in seeing what it's like ,also Wales only been to Tenby which we loved like to see dome other places there. Thanks for your hard work
As a bus fan and a lifelong Skipton I can assure you there are regular buses to and from Skipton up until 11.40pm on Saturday nights so parking needn't be an issue! 👍Enjoy your next visit 😃

Great shops? I'm from skipton and it's full of charity, discount and not much else unless you want a coffee!! Sorry skipton started losing it about 10 years ago.
I hear the same thing in every town I visit to be fair - maybe it's just how things are these days
