You are an amazing teacher, Sandy. In all the years I've been crafting I've just dabbled with coloring. Mainly I'm intimidated because I cannot draw so I've found myself feeling like I don't belong in coloring classes. I know I'll never draw but I'd like to learn to color my stamped images better. I need to learn shading, etc. Need to sign up for one of your online classes!

Hello Sandy, yet another fabulous tutorial on coloring tools! I have each one of these products and love them for various reasons. I must say, the Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils & Daniel Smith Watercolors are my favorites! Thanks for sharing this wonderful information, so grateful for you, blessings & hugs!!!

Thanks Sandy! That was very helpful esp. seeing the difference between the two watercolor pencils.

Thank you for another very helpful video Sandy. I found my set of AD watercolor pencils (72) from eBay years ago. What an incredible buy and incredible pencils. All had been used, some colors more than others, but all were at least 2/3 long. They were a great steeping off for Watercolors.

GREAT video! I started with copics and doing OK, but struggle with watercolors and even pencils- so on to your JumpStart classes!

Sandy, this was such a GREAT video! Your instructions/comparisons as you go along are excellent; and just what I needed today as I was unpacking my new set of 120 Polychromos colour pencils from Ellen Hutson! Oh happy day 😃 ❤️

I started out many years ago with Derwent Watercolor pencils(set of 72) and various watercolor paints(artist's grade). I have since added some watercolor pan sets and the Derwent Inktense pencils(not the full range) and I have Prismacolor pencils(not the full range). I've avoided the Copic markers because I think I have enough to color with(did I just say that?) and I prefer the look of watercolor and of colored pencil. I appreciate all your tips and agree that a good brush and good paper(cotton) like Arches are your best friends when learning to watercolor. Thanks for another informative video.

Whaaat? Use watercolor paper for color pencil and it looks smoother than Neenah? Must try it.... Also, I REALLY am looking at the Albrecht Durer. Oy.

Could you recommend a good quality brush that does not come from animal? TFS -excellent information!

Would you recommend water based markers like TomBow etc for beginners? You covered Copic alcohol based markers and other water based tools but not the water based markers..??

Thank you for the video. I just want to say that you don't need to buy the tubes of watercolor paints. You can buy a set of pan (cake) watercolors for a good price, and they are much easier to use. There are also other brands of alcohol markers that cost much less than Copics.

Other alcohol markers don't always work the same though...

@@lindajohnson2967 I agree. I think in the end you get what you pay for so from my experience it's worthwhile to just start with a small set of quality products and build as your budget allows. I think if I had done this to begin with it would have saved money in the long run on some cheaper products that are frustrating to use.

The plural of medium is media, NOT "mediums."
