      You can buy cheap houses out west, ppl who whinge about house prices are either 1) inner city snobs living a well off life due to intergenerational social class wellbeing or 2) trying to buy "ferrari" properties in their first entry into the market. You can get 3 bedder homes in MooreBank for like 750k or cheaper in other Western Syd areas. Think outside the inner city bubble. I bought my unit in the Canterbury banks town area in 2011 for 280k.

    Man i had a RC car as a kid a Mercedes CLK GTR my dad bought it and it was very expensive for us at the time. I loved playing with it and i learn as a kid that that it was running on 7.2 volt and so i got my first soldering lessons from him and i added 2 single batteries making it a one and a half pack of batteries. After cutting it to make it fit i realized HOLY its faster!! But then .... It got stolen from me :( and i never got a new one... When i got older i searched for a new one but after buying 2 not even close to mine ones i eventually gave up searching for it... BUT THEN you just showed you love Rc cars and so when you picked it out the box i got really excited because it looked like the one i had ! Not the same car no but the way its build and the box it came in!! I searched for Tamiya Mercedes CLK GTR AND YESS THAT IS THE RC I GOT AS A KID!! man what a small world. i had the 1997 grey edition with the Warsteiner front!! Man love this channel after so many years of following you guys i am still spaceless how much similarities we have... Greetings from Holland!

    From the driveway to a dream shed, what a journey. I was lucky enough to find some land with some old abandoned-but-savable factory type warehouses from the better part of a century ago about in the woods (Midwest USA). I rebuilt those, one for car storage, the other divided up into a smaller workshop that's for building/repairing mostly vintage clockwork/mechanical stuff (watches, clocks, cameras, music boxes, etc). That part is mostly my hand tools, benches, and smaller machining equipment. The rest of the building is a 2 door 4 bay workshop for mostly auto stuff and an isolated paint booth/room for the third door.
    I built my subterranean home on the same land, looks like an old bunker from the top with skylights showing on the exposed concrete with metal rolling shutters. Two story unground with open design in the middle to take advantage of as much natural light as I could (and to keep it from feeling as closed in). The biggest pain was all the security tbh, it's not uncommon for questionable people trying to steal anything and everything. I haven't had any problems but I also put up metal walls for fencing topped with barbed wire, cameras everywhere, signs, etc. It's like a private Prison; I honestly hate having to make it look like that, but I don't want my things stolen.

    Why are Australians so invested in sheds?.. Aussies really seem to take it to the next level. Like, on some deep cultural level. Even some Aussie Tech and lifestyle channels I sub to are doing highly detailed shed builds and tours.
    An old Aussie friend shared the same enthusiasm for details and couldn't understand why other people got a bit bored by multiple, hour long discussions about sheds nor could he put his finger on why he and his friends back home deemed it very normal to be so invested in them. When he asked if I wanted to check out his shed, I was surprised to find out that his intention was for me to literally just check out the shed with little attention paid to what was housed inside it.. Additionally, I was expected to give my thoughtful assessment of it. Since then I've seen so many similar examples that would prove that he wasn't just an odd case. This video not being one of them so please don't think I'm taking digs MCM's choice of video subject or Aussies in general.. MCM could make a video about housework and I'd still happily watch it. Can someone please kindly explain how the subject became so nationally ingrained? It's a genuine curiosity.

Large bandsaw, planer, facer, cabinet table saw, lathe, router tables, every woodworking gizmo you can imagine. My own mechanics tools (I used to work as a tech, for many years. So a ginormous toolbox with every automotive tool) a lawn tractor, a zero turn mower, pressure washer 2 different lawn tractor trailers, 30 different storage tubs of the wife's stuff, a Harley, compressor, 2 different welders, couple grinders, some shelving rack things I salvaged from a work van, and leftover parts from 6 different vehicles I don't own anymore but "there're still good and I might need them". Also 6.5KW of solar on the roof.

I'm glad you can collect and store enough rainwater to use without burdening the municipal system there.

    • @Epic501
      @Epic501 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Are you two Aussie?
      I feel we normally only call an attached garage a "garage", regardless of its use for storing cars or not. I've always heard anything detached referred to as a shed or if it's massive, a workshop.

    • @aydotbee
      @aydotbee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aussies have different definitions of a bunch of stuff like this. Another example is the word "dam". Here it refers to the body of water, not the structure that holds it back. A pond or reservoir or even a small lake gets called a dam. I've lived here 20 years and it still does my head in.

      @@Epic501 In the US we call them garages, whether or not they're attached. Sheds are usually smaller in size, but I figure they are solely for storage (not to say you can't work on stuff, just there aren't dedicated tables for working). Workshops are sheds with dedicated work surfaces, at least that's what I'd figure. I wouldn't be at all surprised that Marty calls it that for tax/builder's code, cause a "workshop" would cost more or simply be unfit to be built there...but I can say, I don't live there.
