I would argue that the even bigger reason casinos offer these sweepstakes (aside from being legally obligated to offer the no purchase necessary option) beyond the marketing aspect is: data. In this day & age, data is everything! Data is valuable. All the cards and letters coming into casinos are feeding their database with names, addresses, phone numbers and whatever other personal information is "required" to be on the submission. And I'm sure in the fine print of the terms of entry, the participants agree that their data can be shared with "partners and affiliates." Meaning, the casino is selling that data!

@@JulieAndersonvideos so true! Your videos are valuable, informative but in a casual comfortable atmosphere which I think is great when you're telling people they are wrong lol
Thank you! I don’t know I came across this, but I am grateful I did! A friend just suggested this program to me. She knows I’m on disability, and am struggling financially. So, she thought she could help. Along with red flags, sirens, bagpipes and my gut dropping, I thought this might be an MLM. She says she makes a lot of money for “only writing letters”. I told her I wanted to do my due diligence, research the company, etc. Which I always do anyway. She knows I am antiMLM, we had a fight years ago because I wouldn’t join her in selling oils, or something. I’m kind of hurt that she would try that twice. She must think I am an idiot! 😢 Thanks so much for the info! I love your energy!! You have a new follower!
You're told your going to be given a highlighter and when you sign up they tell you to take a bus to a specific store and purchase your own highlighter for delivery and then go home and wait for your highlighter to be delivered to you.
@JulieAndersonvideos they probably also tell you to open a line of credit to get the highlighter. And if you really are a winner and want to dream big, you could just iNvESt in all the highlighters in the store. But if you just want this to be a little hobby that you play around with and are too scared to get serious and commit to yourself and your family, you can just get one. No biggie!
It totally reminds me of those chain letters too! Seeing so many people waste hours and hours of their lives on this fools errand is so sad to me. And infuriating!
Thank you! :) It was hit more miss if I was going to start creating content again. The support of the TH-cam community and the antimlm movement helped me make my decision to start up again. :)
It's like Tim Hortons roll up the rim to win! You *can* get a cup for free by mailing a form and waiting weeks for them to mail you a cup. Or you can just buy a cup of coffee ☕
Exactly! I was also thinking about the cereal box UPC code mail-in prizes from back in the day. This crummy company is trying to convince people that there's a market out there for trading in the equivalent of a cracker jack prize (the $5 worth of coins) and that they'll get rich from it.
For these people to break even they first need to make $200 for the course. Then make the money for envelopes, stamps, paper and whatever else they need to make the letter. Also the woman at the end saying it saved her life, actually made me sick to my stomach. That is vile, and it seems extremely predatory.
Ohhh these are good points. I never thought to mention about how they need to make their money back by addressing the course costs. Thank you for mentioning this!
I don't even mail in my bills. I pay them online. To think of buying stamps and envelopes and doing all that in my spare time is insane. Like you said I don't want to do anything when I'm not working. I'm the log and my cat is the bump on me 😂
Thanks for this!!! You’re a warrior‼️👏🏽 these MLM’s are so darn pathetic. Go to a trade school, get a skill, and get a job. Ppl just want to be lazy and stay home yet still collect cash. LAZY‼️‼️‼️
Holy Cow these scams are so much work! I mean all of the fine print to write letters for $5? Yikes. I work hard but I get paid a steady salary. Run from this people!
Thank you! When she said that, I couldn't believe my ears. It's shocking how easily manipulated people are, how people in MLMs all fall into line really quickly. All sounding the same, with the same fervent belief that the "business" saved them. It's like a frigging religion the way they speak...the way I spoke when I was in too.
Did I see you on Majority Report before? This message needs to get spread far and wide because there are just too many people that are downtrodden and that makes them vulnerable to these type of scams. The problem is life has become very aggravating. You work hard and then you watch every paycheck just go to bills and the grocery store...so you work and work and work...no vacation. Can't take days off....and you just want a freaking out. They tell you to just go get another job. The problem is the other job is just as crappy. So yeah. These things becoem more and more desirable
I haven't been on Majority Report. Thank you for describing why scams like these appeal to people. They target people and offer a way out, using their hope against them. And another aspect of this that's heartbreaking is seeing the victims defend the scam as they continue to lose money...and time.
@@JulieAndersonvideos It is sad when they defend it. My neighbor growing up had a garage full of Herbalife...Its the sunk cost fallacy that would lead someone to slowly fill up their storage space with useless vitamins.
I found a woman on TikTok who was giving out the secret that its writing to casinos for free and had a link explaining it all. My state was one that doesnt allow it so I didn't get anymore info so I dont know if she was trying to eventually scam people or was just attempting to show you can do this for free without sending them money. Now if it actually works I don't know Michigan is a state where it's banned but this was one I actually would have tried. Although I'd have just used that ladys free info so at most I'd lose a few bucks in stamps
Methinks someone is a wee bit jealous. You are purchasing information that, yes, is available if people know where to find it and even think about looking for it. People are redeeming cash from writing to these casinos, asking for sweeps coins. And you don't have to join the MLM portion of the program. You can just write asking for the sweeps coins. So why does it bother you that people have to buy envelopes, index cards and stamps? No you don't have to buy the course but 99% of people do not know about the loophole of playing for free.
This is the most scammy scam of all time. I'm glad you clarified how the supposed $5 is being paid out, bc I haven't heard that explained in other videos. The casino gives the $5 credit, bc the odds are stacked against you at a casino. So, the odds are in their favor that giving you $5 credit to play at their casino will actually, in fact, cause you to lose your own money to them while playing! I'd LOVE to see that $199 booklet, but I'd never pay that or want any content creator to pay that to these utter con artists. 'Con *artist*' is too kind a term for them. Ironically, like you mentioned, I'm sure on some level the casinos are delighted by having business steered their way! But, I'm sure that amount of $5 payout won't be given out. I wonder what kind of lawsuits might come out of this eventually?
@@JulieAndersonvideosAren't they getting 1000 letters from the exact same person? You only get to convert a customer once! Repeat participants would just be a waste.
Great video. I learned something new! Paid Per Letter is an MLM, but part of me wonders how they got there. This writing to a casino thing, there is some "there" there, but it would only work to make money if you can de-aggregate risk, ie have an army of people sending the letter and pooling their risk. Unfortunately, that doesn't work as well as selling "courses". One more idea: if the casino only accepts a hand written request, is that an ADA violation? Some folks can't write letters due to age, disease, or injury, and disqualifying them from applying is a disparate action.
Julie, I am the woman in the video at the end of your video. I made that video after writing 60 letters/day 5 days/ week. I CONVERTED my $1500 coins into $1650.00. Bc converting is not gambling. I have earned $17,000.00 since my first drop on 5/18. It is 9/2 as I write this. Maybe you should research this a little bit more bc I don’t scam people. I write letters and convert. Converting is not gambling. It’s a mathematical formula that anyone can learn… even someone like you.
@@JulieAndersonvideos You are so full of pride and ego. This is a legal business. I rescued myself with the $5 letter. I will continue to do so. Do not contact me or use my content again to spread lies. YOU are the scammer.
You're welcome! I use the free version of VSDC. I was using a free version of Clip Champ and loved it. But it stopped working and no matter what I did, I couldn't fix it! I'm still bummed about it! VSDC looks like an airplane cockpit, it's so complicated looking and it has been difficult for me to just figure out how to do basic stuff. If I could use Clip Champ again I would in a heartbeat! 😊
I'm sorry you spent time talking about something you wanted to move on from, but I'm happy to finally understand the structure of this scam. It was so confusing.
Literally here cause I see this on TikTok all the time and always wondered about it. I'm deep in the anti mlm community on youtube and knew this was a scam but couldn't figure out how. Would never have guessed casinos.
@@JulieAndersonvideos one of my Facebook friends has been pushing “Send It Academy” since early last year. But when I looked at their video and they were talking about getting casino coins that’s when I seen the red flags. So I started doing more research and ran across your video. Do you know any legit sources making money from home? Thank you
Since it’s gambling they may have coins to play with but they probably lose more than they earn. That’s why they don’t say it’s gambling because no one would see the appeal, at least in the sense of a “business”.
The gambling is like one of those opportunities to go gold digging/metal detecting on private property. You probably won't make any money, or find anything valuable. The MLM aspect of Send it Academy is like paying $200 just for directions to reach the property. Then encouraging you to stand by the road and also charge $200 to point people in the right direction, while saying they could also just stand on the roadside with you and also point everyone in the same direction. Both components of this are just so devious and not a way to generate stable income, but its the deception of income claims and obscuring the fact it's gambling is really disgusting.
Also, there is no requirement to write a set number of letters but, naturally, the more letters you write, the more sweeps coins you can garner. Each letter is worth $5usd or aporox $6.25 cad. If you write enough letters you can acquire enough coins to make a substantial profit which could equate to $50 - $75 dollars an hour. Your income is entirely up you and how many letters you want to write, how much time you want to spend writing, and how much time you want to spend playing off the coins you receive for each letter. All this course does is give participants exact instructions that saves them trial and error time. No matter what you do online, if you wish to receive money you need to verify your identity and banking details if you are receiving wire transfers.
My 2 coworker are doing right now. I don’t know what he is doing, but he write a lot letter and send them. He said he make some money, but there are our information there. So I’m scare, I don’t want to start. So is it scam ? How do they pay ? And they pay directly to your account.
I hope you watched the video and got warned not to join this scam.. You don't get paid per letter you send.. You may or may not get credits to use to play GAMBLING games which we all know the odds of winning those.. You then can cash the money if and only if you won these games that are against a computer designed not to make it easy to win
Thank you for mentioning this - I totally missed this! I love the comment section so much, there's always more to learn, more pieces of the puzzle to fit together in the comments. :)
What would you say to a person who recently found out about letter writing on social media, but instead of purchasing a $200 course/recruiting others, she learned how to do it for FREE and decided, "I'll give it a shot"? No pricey course. No recruiting others. And am well aware that its gambling, but I am SO freaking frugal that I won't spend no more than envelopes, stamps, and index cards. To me, it could be an answered prayer as I save money for my bookkeeping course. I want to be able to stay home with my child, so I'm going for it and will start small (10 envelopes a day) until I see if its worth it? ❤
I'd say go for it and proceed with caution. Keep track of how much money you spend versus win at gambling. A lot of people enjoy participating in the letter-writing and then gambling. The difference is they are going in with eyes wide open. No deception. No recruiting others into a pyramid scheme and no false claims of earning a wage or amount per letter. Good luck and all the best to you!
Wait whaaat! My friend does this letter writing, she quit her corporate job because she said the money is so good.. she didn’t say anything about gambling, she’s really not the type to lie I’m so confused. She does weird stuff all the time and is open about it but with this she says she writes the letters and can deposit the coins into cash. This makes me want to try it just to see what happens lol
I went to a capybara cafe and thought of you ❤. I expected them to have soft fur, but it's actually rough and thick. Also I hate that the paid for letter guys try to bully you. This scam is really pitiful.
Even if it was legit, remember folks, hand writing for an hour HURTS if you aren’t used to it! I bought a word processor (a typewriter where you could print each line at a time, so you could go back & fix things; it was just a few years before actual word processing software came out) in the late 80s because I hated writing reports and essays by hand!
This is one of the random things I tell people in law school. For a LONG time bar exams were required to be handwritten (post-COVID might not he as true anymore), and I would tell students about to graduate that they had to practice handwriting because their hand would cramp so hard by the end of the test. Even now, as someone who LIKES writing, I tap out after an hour. For a full-time JOB? Not a chance. I don’t even type that much. I’ll dictate half my stuff.
I like gambling but I will never play online because I’m afraid of losing control. Also candy crash resets your life every x minutes so you can play for free forever;)
Most of us are smart enough to know the conversion process is gambling but if you follow the instructions you can generally come away with at least as much as your drops initially were.
Make sure you tell them they have to pay that $25 a month or you lose all your training. Plus as happened today, thousands people had their account closed for no reason costing many thousands of dollars in lost letters.
@@JulieAndersonvideos yes, VGW which is Luckylands, Chumba and Global Poker, all three closed down peoples account giving the same genaric email about using an automated system. Which no one says they're using. I'm seeing hundreds of accounts being closed today and thousands of dollars lost. And this happens a lot through the year.

Thank you. I really hope it reaches more people and I believe there's a good chance it might. I've been seeing comments of people thanking me for putting out previous videos, that they didn't join because of them. They understood how they were being deceived. Once people see through things, they can't unsee it. 🙏
Thanks so much for the info! I love your energy!! You have a new follower!
You're told your going to be given a highlighter and when you sign up they tell you to take a bus to a specific store and purchase your own highlighter for delivery and then go home and wait for your highlighter to be delivered to you.
Hahahahaha yes!! I busted out laughing reading your comment. Hahaha this is more like it
@JulieAndersonvideos they probably also tell you to open a line of credit to get the highlighter. And if you really are a winner and want to dream big, you could just iNvESt in all the highlighters in the store. But if you just want this to be a little hobby that you play around with and are too scared to get serious and commit to yourself and your family, you can just get one. No biggie!
@ginnygin7141 This is is the best comment hahahahahaha oh God I can't stop laughing 🤣
But it won't actually be a highlighter, it will be the chance to find one on the sidewalk sometime in the next month.

Partnering MLM with gambling seems evil to me.
I had no idea this is even a thing. It reminds me of those silly chain letters my mom would get in the 80s.
This activity looks 😖
It totally reminds me of those chain letters too! Seeing so many people waste hours and hours of their lives on this fools errand is so sad to me. And infuriating!
I had been wondering how this whole writing to casinos business worked, so thank you for the explanation!
You're welcome! :)
The send it in courses and mlm part of this is truly a scam. But she is focusing WAY too much on the casino process.
@@Sinful_Josh That is because this is the topic of the video.
I love watching your content & so glad you are back with so much!!
Thank you! :) It was hit more miss if I was going to start creating content again. The support of the TH-cam community and the antimlm movement helped me make my decision to start up again. :)
51:08 Yes, testimony call! "You know, if you subscribe to her channel, your butt instantly looks good. It did it with me, couldn't even believe it."
Whooo hooo! :)
Just saw an ad on TH-cam about this. Thanks for sharing!
It's like Tim Hortons roll up the rim to win! You *can* get a cup for free by mailing a form and waiting weeks for them to mail you a cup. Or you can just buy a cup of coffee ☕
EXACTLY. It's so funny you mention this, I've used this as an example when talking about it too!
I can see that because it is a legal requirement. But at least they are a company doing real business with the occasional promotion.
Exactly! I was also thinking about the cereal box UPC code mail-in prizes from back in the day. This crummy company is trying to convince people that there's a market out there for trading in the equivalent of a cracker jack prize (the $5 worth of coins) and that they'll get rich from it.
This AGAIN? I remember this shit from the 1960s!😅
They always circle back.
It's the never-ending scam hahahaha
For these people to break even they first need to make $200 for the course. Then make the money for envelopes, stamps, paper and whatever else they need to make the letter. Also the woman at the end saying it saved her life, actually made me sick to my stomach. That is vile, and it seems extremely predatory.
Ohhh these are good points. I never thought to mention about how they need to make their money back by addressing the course costs. Thank you for mentioning this!
The moment I heard "write letters to casinos to get tokens" I was just 'that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard who would join that'.
hahahahahahahahhahahahaha

I don't even mail in my bills. I pay them online. To think of buying stamps and envelopes and doing all that in my spare time is insane. Like you said I don't want to do anything when I'm not working. I'm the log and my cat is the bump on me 😂
I thought you could email them the same speak and get a $5 credit.
Thanks for this!!! You’re a warrior‼️👏🏽 these MLM’s are so darn pathetic. Go to a trade school, get a skill, and get a job. Ppl just want to be lazy and stay home yet still collect cash. LAZY‼️‼️‼️
Thank you for covering! I keep seeing the letter but no one talking about it!
You're welcome!
Thank you for sharing and saving me from "changing my life"!
Holy Cow these scams are so much work! I mean all of the fine print to write letters for $5? Yikes. I work hard but I get paid a steady salary. Run from this people!
How on earth did it "save her life"? Absurd.
Great video, Julie!
Thank you! When she said that, I couldn't believe my ears. It's shocking how easily manipulated people are, how people in MLMs all fall into line really quickly. All sounding the same, with the same fervent belief that the "business" saved them. It's like a frigging religion the way they speak...the way I spoke when I was in too.
Maybe they wrapped all their paper cuts with the letters to stop the bleeding lol.
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Although I'd have just used that ladys free info so at most I'd lose a few bucks in stamps
it was my jackpot journey. i guess she is legit. she was really nice, but like i said my state is one of the few that dont allow it
Without the free way to enter its considered an illegal lottery. I cannot believe this is being sold as a way to make a living.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. The “Operation” game analogy was spot on, and I was tickled. New subscriber here

The lady in the video at the end has a good ASMR voice, she'd make more money doing that LOL.
Unironically I actually love watching her videos because I really like the tone and cadence of her voice LOL 😭 it’s 1000% better as asmr content!!!
I'll bet the casinos hate the increased amount of mail this scam is creating that they have to process.
I wonder about this! I kind of go back and forth on it. Because it could mean more customers or it could just mean more of a pain in the butt hahaha
They get a lot of data about people and that could be $$
@@JulieAndersonvideosAren't they getting 1000 letters from the exact same person?
Thank you for this video. I always knew this was a scam, but could never figure out how letter writing related to casinos in any way until now
You're welcome! :)
I hope you get out of this scam one day. You're being manipulated and in turn are manipulating others. Good luck to you.
@@JulieAndersonvideos You are so full of pride and ego. This is a legal business. I rescued myself with the $5 letter. I will continue to do so. Do not contact me or use my content again to spread lies. YOU are the scammer.

Thank you
You are so so AMAZING!!!!
You’re the prettiest anti mlm er and that’s a pretty group
aww hey thank you
Since it’s gambling they may have coins to play with but they probably lose more than they earn.
This is a great example to explain how ridiculous this scam is!
This scam has been around forever. I remember ads for it from the back of comics in 1970s.
The secret spy glasses and course on taking on a bully were legit though!
Casinos give free samples because sometimes that $5 is enough to tip someone over into full blown gambling addiction
I love this community of creators, and my butt also looks fabulous ;)
yay to great looking butts! Hahaha! :)
Thank You for exposing sendit Academy. You are saving people’s money 💵!!!
Ahh the point of this is just data mining, it’s not even about collecting money.
Thank you for mentioning this - I totally missed this! I love the comment section so much, there's always more to learn, more pieces of the puzzle to fit together in the comments. :)
If it sounds too good to be true it most likely is!

Thank you!
This Canadian broke even in Vegas… because I only played nickel slots for like 10 minutes 😂
I really want a highlighte now
Lol
You went to a capy cafe! That's so cool!

I also wonder if these MLMS aren't shell companies of the casino. This would make even more sense.
Oh wow....that's one possibility I never thought of

Make sure you tell them they have to pay that $25 a month or you lose all your training. Plus as happened today, thousands people had their account closed for no reason costing many thousands of dollars in lost letters.
Whoa...do you happen to know if these accounts were closed from the casino end?
@@JulieAndersonvideos yes, VGW which is Luckylands, Chumba and Global Poker, all three closed down peoples account giving the same genaric email about using an automated system.
