I love how TDP crew dealt with their relationship, they could’ve easily made this a love triangle with Callum pining over Claudia still and discarding Rayla’s emotions for “character development” only in the end for them to be canon. Rayla and Callum were in love, they realized this, and acted on it. It’s so great and I love that Rayla got really embarrassed with the fact she kissed Callum and that Callum didn’t want to capitalize on her feelings and take advantage of her when she sad despite liking her.

I looked at it as he’d been falling in love with her all this time without realising and it took rayla to kiss him and show how she felt for him realise how he felt I don’t think before she kissed him he realised he’d grown to love her I think once she’d shown her side of the coin and he acc listened to what he was saying nd how he was in awe of her he finally realised he’d been falling for her the whole time very satisfying way to start a relationship always love slow burning friendships their the most realistic and acc build great relationships like this one
I'm so glad they didn't make an unnecessary love triangle. His puppy dog crush on Claudia deflated and he and Rayla fell in love naturally.

To be honest, I didn't percieve this ship as a thing until the end of Season 2, and now that I've seen Season 3, I am ridiciously happy rayllum is canon. I love their relationship.

I shipped them since like the first episode and whenever I saw Callum with Claudia I hated it.
The end of season 2 is when Rayla realizes she has feelings for Callum, so that makes sense.

What I love so much about this relationship is how it wasn't even planned originally, but the creators saw how much chemistry these two had and realized that it's something that should become official.
In fact they were almost considering Claudia and Callum instead- but what we got is so much better.

The thing I really admire about this relationship is that they are from different society’s but it wasn’t your typical love at first sight, much like how hiccup and astrids relationship developed callum and rayla had to help each other overcome all sorts of pain which allowed them to open up about their true feelings for one another which lead to them falling in love

Y'know, on my first watching, I thought it was kinda weird that they got together when they did. It seemed a little too easy. Usually in these kinds of shows, the couple doesn't make it official until the ending or until a HUGE plot thing happens. After watching it again, I realize that the reason it isn't treated as the biggest thing in the show or that the characters don't change much afterwards, is because this is how relationships are. These 2 are emotionally stable enough to be together and the writers knew that. Thanks to that, they can actually BE in a relationship. Yes they can still develop as individuals, but they can also develop as a couple. I just hope the writers keep up the good work in season 4.

Unfortunately, people hate season 4 :( but I like it tho, the way their relationship feels more realistic.
I think a lot of shows could benefit from getting their main couples together earlier. The Owl House got Luz and Amity together half way through season 2 and it wound up working out for everyone.
To be honest, I would’ve been just fine if they stayed as best friends but I’m glad they could evolve their relationship

Same, their friendship worked very well. I was weary of it becoming plain ol' boring love, but how they did the romance completely sold me. It just works, to be honest. And they're not all lovey dovey all the time, their friendship is preserved and strengthened with love.

I absolutely adore The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, but I'm personally not a fan of the entirety of romance arcs being *just* the buildup, ending the show before it gets to any of the adorable fluffiness.
