i was literally thinking to myself his voice sounds a lot like sokka low and behold i find out they do in fact have the same va and I wasn't just imagining them having very similar voices LMAO
One of the only relationships that seems so organic. Like they both literally stumbled into love, it never felt forced or conflicted. It was just a story of 2 really different people growing closer together as they face trial after trial on their long journey. Then prince Ezran left and the tension between them grew as they were all each other had. For a really long time it seemed like Callum would save and redeem Claudia and fall in love but they flipped that on its head with season 3. I hate how they ruined that 3 season/year long arch and development with season 4. Anyway my favorite scene is them on the mountain where Ez and Bait realize they have a thing and their jaws drop. I laughed pretty hard at that.
Season 5 redeems season 4 somewhat in my opinion by justifying said drama/pseudo breakup by giving them a lot of development both as individuals and as a couple... Just like their development through season 2/3 it felt natural and realistic; they grew apart because of their jobs/responsibilities but they never stopped loving or caring for each other. And when they're reunited, it's awkward at first but it doesn't take them long to remember why they fell in love... They don't bicker or act all petty and mean to each other, they just... talk about it. It's refreshingly healthy and nuanced for a cartoon relationship. Hell, it's healthier than most real relationships I've seen.
Yes, it is a pretty healthy relationship. Honestly, most tsundere relationships aren’t exactly “healthy”, even if they might be the most adorable type, but this is one of the healthiest relationships I have ever seen.
While I too ain’t a fan of S3/S4 2 year arc, I felt that it was somewhat needed to let the characters grow individually. We still don’t know how Rayla left, if she ghosted or left a letter or had a talk. S5 somewhat redeemed it but I feel like S6 should solidify it more. I feel like S6 may focus more with Callum’s relationship with dark magic, if those chains turning to snakes are any indication.
One of my favorite things about this couple is the fact that Callum, who's usually a "use magic" and sometimes "avoid violence" kind of guy, actually just went in for a punch when Rayla was being hurt by Finnegrin in season 5. He loves her so much it's adorable. It's often been Rayla that defends Callum, but we see that Callum is just as willing to defend her with tooth and nail if necessary.

I fell in love with this. It reminds me a lot of Hiccup and Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon, which happens to be my favorite ship of all time!

I put this video in my queue, forgot about it, and when it came on I went through the whole thing thinking it was a season 1-5 recap, and I think that says something about their relationship.
I literally rewatched Avatar TLA before stumbling upon this. And after I learned Sokka had the same va as the main character in this show I had to check it out. To say I didn’t regret it is an understatement. It actually gives off Avatar vibes but while of course not as good is still phenomenal. The love story here is actually something I can say was better than that of Katara and Aang. The relationship never felt one sided when it came to their feelings. The friendship blossoming into love went both ways and it never felt friend-zoned or forced. I truly enjoyed it because it’s just so pure more so than a love story I’ve seen in a very long time. And both Callum and Rayla are both extremely likable which can’t be said for many love stories.
I didn't even know there were newseasons, and i stopped watching after season 3. im so glad that its back. Im gonna binge watch this later when i have the time😊

Ya know, after watching this and reading the comments, Im seriously considering rewatching this for like the third time
I literally rewatched Avatar TLA before stumbling upon this. And after I learned Sokka had the same va as the main character in this show I had to check it out. To say I didn’t regret it is an understatement. It actually gives off Avatar vibes but while of course not as good is still phenomenal. The love story here is actually something I can say was better than that of Katara and Aang. The relationship never felt one sided when it came to their feelings. The friendship blossoming into love went both ways and it never felt friend-zoned or forced. I truly enjoyed it because it’s just so pure more so than a love story I’ve seen in a very long time. And both Callum and Rayla are both extremely likable which can’t be said for many love stories.
I didn't even know there were newseasons, and i stopped watching after season 3. im so glad that its back. Im gonna binge watch this later when i have the time😊
