Well, that was an onslaught of helpful stuff! I just found out ( by fiddling, because I'm like that) that First Person view is also changed by the scroll wheel. Scroll down, and you go to ever-further Third Person view! That or the game has an Astral Travelling mechanic I need to investigate.

Here’s a tip from what I found useful for me when I play. When in 3rd person it’s a lil easier to place building like you want it (easier to see), also in 3rd person with the hammer in destroy mode and building roads you can see the other roads you put down to try to help set up the roads how you want too.
Good tips, I was getting nuts trying to find straw in my first gameplay, also in the bad way I learned to have in the early game always at least 3 spears
This is a great guide thanks. Most video wastes hours of time showing them picking up sticks and stones and they are so boring to watch. This video gives a lot more useful information in less time, thanks.

Tip #3: It's faster to pick things when you're holding a two handed tool. It skips the animation.

Remember you can add one log to each tree if you dig stump with a shovel.
But then they won’t grow back. So be careful with that.
