I watched this show every day after school before it became super popular. Looking at these designs, though... 😬 What the heck were we doing back then? 😂
It’s kind of shocking how humble the homes are. Seems like all the home shows and Instagram esthetic now has us convinced everyone lives like millionaires.
I am thoroughly convinced that they found people who are planning to move and are selling their homes “as is”. that’s the ONLY way someone could be excited about these “makeovers”.
Before Instagram and the off white/ beige backgrounds were in. I mean nothing like dressing your whole family and sitting in your white room. 😂. But yeah, this show- Doug- I remember he always decorated everything in brown 🤪
To be fair, it’s 20 years ago and it’s difficult to have a timeless design, especially on a $1000 budget. For example, 6:52 is a nicely decorated room, with neutral colors but it stills looks outdated. Sarah Richardson has timeless rooms from 20 years ago but she’s working with $20,000 plus budgets.
I miss this all so much. My family and I used to watch this show, usually on weekend mornings and all of us enjoyed it. I think it's just so cool to see people connecting on the level that the two couples did in these episodes, and the effort put into many of the DIY projects- I'll say that very little in any of these aged well, but it's just fascinating to me how much these folks cherished what their friends did and what it meant to them. Not to mention, it really shows how much personality and individuality people seemed to favour back then, rather than sterile, millennial grey spaces made to look nice in an instagram post.. This was also before TLC became a terrorist organization as well. Makes me appreciate the time period I grew up in.

It was always a good day if you ended up with Vern as your designer!
I can't believe I ever thought any of this was good lmaooo
Frank was always the best at creating something people genuinely loved. He cared.
Frank made it fun
Some of these I am convinced the people are faking liking the rooms... there is NO way...

Frank and Vern rarely came up with something people didn't love. Watched this show every time.
I used to live this show not realizing what a crappy job they always did.
The second bedroom looks like they are about to sacrifice someone in it
The host was perfect. But this show was a menace
Yup. I think they should have made changes that were easily reversible.
Imagine trying to sell those houses now...
Oh hell. Hell wouldn't fly
😂😂😂😂😂
A lot of it is just paint though so it’s easily reversible.
These are hideous, but I have to remind myself it was early 2000’s.
I am thoroughly convinced that they found people who are planning to move and are selling their homes “as is”.

Omg I just cackled 😂
The women seem happy, the men all seem to be in disbelief.
The last two neighbors were so cute and sweet. Most of the designs were horrid but I'm so glad they liked them. That's what matters.
I absolutely LOVE the first room (the kitchen Frank designed) it's beyond adorable. ❤️
Frank was so good. The anti-Hildi. Not surprised that three out of the first four were his designs.
What more is concerning me are the ones really liking the results...fabulous!!!!😮😢
These are all atrocious lol
The pixelated wall gives me a headache. And the red retro redux is overkill.
Wow, they actually liked it. Lol the host look like she was preparing herself for rejection.
I remember the episode with the metal wall. It looked cool. One of the better designs, but.... well I'm glad it's not mine.
10:10 Who knew Jesse Pinkman was on trading spaces?
Married to Britney. Haha
I remembered
I swear this show is the reason why minimalism is on trend.
I actually absolutely loved that first kitchen it’s tacky but fun and adorable! Total win!!!
I’m laughing so hard. So ugly. I Rembrandt watching that safari bedroom. lol.
@8:22 this room is actually nice. I meant the before. They effd it up! Damn
Do they have to scream so loud? My neighbours now think I am the crazy one.
I know had to turn the volume down
I don't like the screaming
Not a good one in the bunch.
RIP Frank

I notice a lot of these rooms were designed by Frank. Not a surprise.
This isn’t real, is it!.! This is gotta be a SNL parody sketch!
Keep in mind all of these are from like 20 years ago. Blinding white and prison gray wasn’t popular back then. People actually wanted color lol
Bad video to watch on full volume next to my mom's room
That second room was awful 😖
I don’t think yall understand the show the neighbors decided what should look like if they wanted they could make it look absolute terrible or not
what’s jesse pinkman doing in this
Im really glad this time in interior design has passed. No thank you.
"5:42" my goodness the before and after is horrid. Yellow for walls? Pixels? Poinsettia? Horrid.
Most of these are horrible, the befores and afters. So much sage green. Man, that color was popular in the early 2000's.
The HEIGHT of god AWFUL taste. Was anyone else sometimes confused about what room was the before and what was the after?
Me
How could be this called design, mind you they are American 😊😅😅😅

2024 ..... lady's PLEASE stop bloody screaming 😡😡😡😡

10:17 can you say guy overacting?
Every single one of those “designs” is horrendous.
Gosh, all the “afters” are hideous (granted, I didn’t have the stomach to watch them all).
Yikes
🤮🤮🤮🤮
@4:05 the guy hated it hahahaha
Worst ever show
