This channel is becoming one of the most technical and enjoyable channels on TH-cam. I’m so glad people are taking the time to show the ins and outs of their builds and not just slapping parts on with little explanation.
absolutely same! I usually never watch automotive-youtube, except for stanceworks. but these guys won me over with the way they explain and show the stuff they are doing
Enjoyable yes, technical nah. High performance academy is what I would consider technical, maybe too technical that few people watch their videos.
And their videography, editing, and pacing of their episodes is outstanding. VERY enjoyable channel. I do kinda miss the earlier days when it seemed a bit more homegrown, but I'm super happy for their success. :)
Idk about “becoming”. This channel has been the shit for a long while now.
Dont get me wrong i like donut media but their builds like hi-low dont hold a candle to anything gears and gasoline does
Andy at ASM is an amazingly good person. Him and his dad were my 5th grade basketball coach, still remember some of the lessons he taught me when he was a kid only a few years older than I was.
It’s kinda wild that in every video featuring Andy there’s at least one comment about someone who’s met him before when he was in some different random profession or scenario but the common thread is always that he’s a nice guy whatever he may be doing 😌
Them lowkey roasting Ben about the state of his S2K makes this a 100% better 😂 they are funny

They are totally correct in saying that people who haven't done engine swaps assume it's all bolting stuff on, but are completely unaware of the fabrication aspect of the swap. Awesome work from the boys at ASM!
I can relate to this. I installed one part on my bicycle where the front derailleur's cage would foul if I didn't file some material off of it.
ASM just bought my old s2000 that someone ran into a tire wall end of last season.
Its super funny because Jackie’s s2000 is the car that inspired me to build it, and now they are both at ASM together. It seems fitting haha.

A dream + some dedication and hard work is all it takes. It’s not always easy but it really has been a dream come true.

Andy and ASM are tops.....they built my LS converted to K-swap s2k with a Prayoonto built 9000rpm K24 motor 4 or 5 years ago. Couldn't be happier with my S2K as she sits now

Easy? 🤨 the Japanese tuner scene has been trying HARD to rev this high since the 90s with the B series and then the F & K series. It’s not easy.
To “safely” rev to 10k you have to build the motor to rev to what…? 11k? 12k? And then DeTune it down to a useable 10k?
