These are my favourite battle reports on YT. Not only is it Empire, but the games are played in such a great spirit with obvious, infectious enjoyment. Top notch entertainment!
Always good to see some old world on the channel. I fear father Gregory is not a man, rather a cult, as one is felled another acolyte steps forward to take up his depraved mantle.
Gentlemen, liking this comment is the official channel for registering your intent to lambast the the Skaven Player (myself) for unscrupulously (accidentally) cheating! I put my characters into the gutterrunner unit and still scouted them! Dont worry i noticed later! 2 days later! FML 😂 My apologies!
Also noticed this. While unlikely, the possibility was there for the cannons to fail the panic test and get moved behind the hill, blocking line of sight.
@@ericolson922 yea, the artillery was the big one I was thinking of, maybe the engineer. Not entirely likely, but its still something to watch out for in other battles where the BSB might not be as near.
i love how you talked about the character and his rerolls, which come in clutch and therefore you like him, and THEN HE KILLS THE BEAST WITH A REROLL! What a Hero!
Good watch! The hill bonus you were thinking of was to combat res and since you were closer to the “crest” of the hill the combat with the giants rays would’ve been a tie
a verry fun and cool battle report, GG ! i have a rules question as a skaven player, you can deploy your Grey seer in a Scout unit ? or i missunderstood somthing ?
Agh man, you're the second person to mention this so you're probably right, any idea where to look in the book for this? I definitely missed it. Cheers for your vigilance!
@@That_Rat_Bastrd If a unit with the Fly (X) special rule moves over a magical vortex that counts as dangerous terrain, is it affected by it? Yes. Magical vortexes are considered tall enough to affect even models that are flying high above the battlefield. Source: Official Warhammer: The Old World FAQ & Errata - Version 1.2
@@matthewsmith995 cheers! It really dumb that they'd make dangerous terrain work differently in just this one instance and just because it's from a vortex, they should just have called it something different.
The hellpit attack hits the center of a unit not specially over the head of a model, so depending on the ranks and files of the unit being odd or even it covers different numbers of models
I've got to say it was the utmost of cowerdice from the empire to fall back like that against skaven filth. Morgan Bernhardt would of been watching on in disgust 😂😂. Overall though it was a great battle report. Those skavens need to take care of the artillery asap
The second time he used evasive on his gutters, he only had one gutter and two characters. So couldnt use evasive, as it says 'the majority of models in the unit must have it'.
Well it really suck to be a knigth at Vosenburg vagabounds, you barely get paid and you are used to give cover to the artillery, this is far off from what the recruiter promised
your knights at the beginning were lower on the hill so would not block line of sight to or from the cannons. The cannons can shoot over the knights, but you can't have it both ways. At least that's my understanding of hills 🤭
Someone needs to buy Mordian some Demigryph models so he could swap out all the useless magic weapons he buys his characters for some solid Demigryph attacks at strength 5 AP -2, and extra armour and an extra wound for each character and Fear! Good game!
@@wellhungindungthat's fair, I don't think they expected skirmish throwing weapon units as large as I ran here. There aren't many times the ol' Ork dice bucket is needed in ToW.
No offense but these empire lists are boring. I'm waiting for someone to post battle reports from the new Nuln detachment. With war wagons, buffed engineers, outriders and road wardens with pistols.
@@adamosborne9440 to be fair, the list the OP described has the potential to be pretty dynamic. All the units listed have the potential to play a very mobile close in shooting game. I just love that Mordian says "screw the meta" and brings huge blocks of the worst infantry in the game and still keeps the game close.

Brilliant battle report - great stuff.
Two within a week? GRAND AND GLORIOUS!!!!!
Never apologize for bring glorious regiments of infantry in the world of square based gaming

Well well what’s this?? Old World bat rep? CLICK! Greetings from far off Canuckia and the frozen north! 🇨🇦⚔️🎲
Love seeing my favourite two factions clash! Thanks for the awesome work!
Not for me I hate the rats , just like 20 years ago full of cheap cheat rules,
That warlord on brood horror is beautiful.
Thank you 🙏
he put the tank so far on the flank i think he was making a statement to us :)
Great batrep...and the ratling guns are insane!
Manowar....Nice. Battle hymns!
Great Bat rep, thanks for sharing.
Pillars are infinitely high :D
Great fight lads!
Side note: I think Too Horrible to Die takes place before Timber, because THtD triggers on the loss of the last Wound
@@danfish300 I agree. Would’ve swing the game for rats as they rolled a six.
You guys forgot about panic tests when the knight unit was destroyed.
Good catch. The state troops each had a character with hold the line so they didn't need to, but the artillery on the hill should have tested.

o7 to those lads sat in the middle getting shot in the face.
Lovely painted army! could you tell me from which manufacturer are the empire knights? They look awesome!
Can't argue against the Stank Flank! It dominates the iron sides!
you need to stick the banner on your general for aesthetics to symbolise that banner man getting the job
That warp stone was lased with ............. keep up the good work.

Insta like and Glory to the Empire!
Lets goo!!!!
Thanks for the bat rep. Mighty difficult matchup for you. Not much else you could do to improve other than roll better on a couple rounds of shooting.
for Averland!!

Can only move through the ranks if NOT in the fighting rank.
So they would be stuck with 1 attack in this combat
You're right, cheers! That completely slipped past me.
I thought templates always over the hole is 4 models as in the diagram on the old world app. It hits the corners of 4

Old world! Comment for the empire
Squeeked a victory or won by a whisker?
Warhammer turns are swingy?!
It is nice to see the other good guys finally getting the W over those feckless pink skins. Green boyz iz still best boys, tho...

Although what makes his games fun is because he doesn't run the "meta" (ie only functional) build with tank, demis and Griffon characters.
34 dice? GW, get your shit together or leave.
Aww man I really enjoy throwing handfuls of shit dice, it's so thematic for Gutter Runners poised throwing junk
@That_Rat_Bastrd fair enough but I just think their could be better mechanic maybe a horde rule like for hit, 5 guys hit.
