Being a fluff geek, few armies are as quintessential Warhammer to me as the Skaven. So iconic and unique. They should really have been a core army IMO. Great discussion!

Field tested my list on "chemical Warfare". The base idea of spamming pestilent cloud vortexes with a seer and 2 x2 power scroll warlock definitively works. Ratling are ok, sometimes they work, somtimes they dont, the globardies instead had an insane tactical flexibility, but more importantly, the combination of skaven higth initiative with the distrupted charge trougth the clouds (and an average -2 T) absolutelundid the trick
I want to try a skaven list very focused on defence with the maximun output possibile of Pestilence cloud spell, with 2 warlock (2 power scroll) and the seer that choses spells for trying to have at least 2 clouds on the field for 2 turns. When it became a 4+ to wound, 10 globaridera became quite reliable-reiable
Death globes for the big bricks, an assassin with the weeping blade I always think must have legs. With skaven brew is it at the modified leadership from the unit? If so I think that's worth including.

I think we can be positive about every faction :)
@@Dawiafterdark100%. Would love to get your take on dark elves. I know they have the dragon but I’m inclined to go oldhammer blocks, those classic executioner sculpts are some of my favorites, and it’s been a challenge to build a viable list in the US
I mean you can make them zoom about very fast with magic , I think taking a hero with monster slaying sword in the unit and making him as tanky as possible could work people will have to deal with the death star to get points off you so could definitely work
Haven't watched the full video yet, but I hope it is something to do with Rat Swarms. As they are a swarm, they don't block line of sight, so any skaven behind can shoot/magic missile/vortex over them. Meanwhile, they can get in the way of pesky knights to blunt their 'first charge' ability.

Ok bois check this: I think jezzails are slept on. Heres what im thinking 13 jezzails (which is actually only 250 points), grey seer nearby w/ battle magic and lore familiar: pillar of fire, fireball, warp lightning, CURSE OF ARROW ATTRACTION. These 13 jezzails (13 for cool lore reasons and its just a good amount) are now re-rolling those potentially fatal 1's and with their strength six their wounding most things on 2's with -3AP and your grey seer is contributing to an absolutely formidable gunline with fireball and pillar of fire and warp lightning. Pair this with 22 gutter runners and the stormvermin deathstar +7 combat res with another grey seer and demonology for the death star buffs and you've got threats coming from every part of the battlefield, cupla clan rats on either side of the jezzails for protecc. Thoughts?
@@supersingularcurve743I don't think plaguemonks will work for this list build tbh, i'd have to add a 60 pt plague priest tax and could no longer fulfil my core requirements which the stormvermin are pumping up
The whole problem with Skaven is that so many of the great unit choices are locked behind sub-par characters. And all of those characters are limited in what they can bring equipment wise.
So in no more room section for heros , if they aren’t in the front rank they go to the back of the unit and don’t give any bonuses or ld effects but as the verminous valor rule says it gives ld effects I think you don’t get the rest which I feel is an oversite . Page 209 on retiring from combat :)
@@Dawiafterdark Also some Italian players gave me the same answer. It's a bit strange because packmasters have motley crew and giant rats no... The thing I think is a big miss is doom-flayers not having warband, the reroll charge dices would be a great rule

whats the argument for slings over thrown weapons? ik its more range but we loose march and shoot and quick shot
So for slings it’s that you can start out of charge range then keep moving away so better for avoidance tactics , the true sneaky skaven way hah

My other big question is how you remove models lost for shooting in giant rats unit+some packmasters?
