I was chasing a leak because of 2 of those thin, plastic caps... I prefer the regular oatey type, but thought I'd run a quick test with those... They now have rubber caps over them as well.

No pro press for us yet. Still a bit skeptical of it. It also doesn't seem to be the most practical to use in every situation.

I have not used it either. I'm leary of anything with seals.

@TMacThePlumber that and it just seems hard to get into certain areas. We work in alot of older homes where the work area is crowded. We like soldering over here!

There is no reason to apply tape or dope to the threads of a Cherne Clean-Seal test ball. All that does is create a mess while using it and while storing it. I see so many plumbers do this, and it is 100% not necessary. It does nothing good.

We aren't allowed to have leaks on the test ball for inspection.
