17:49 you should check out the patch notes for uodates every week this year. They did a patch where at world bosses there are 2 separate doors that spawn. 1 for pvp and one for pve. They have changed/added and balanced a significant amount of things in dn nesr every single patch.
5:59 The collections are basically just lore books if you want to learn more about the lore of the world you really don't get rewards like you do with Adventure Logs in BDO. What he is showing there are side quests. On the side you will see for instance Windhill Shores 3/4, meaning there are 4 side quests in that region, each part of the side quest is broken down by sub quest like a quest is made up of 5 parts IE talk to farmer being one part, fetching a crop being the second part. Each part of the quest will give you a reward and you get a bigger reward for completing the quest.
Skills are tied to the two weapons you have, there are active skills and passive skills, you get skill books to level up both active and passive skills, they are green, blue, and purple just like weapons, armor, and jewelry and you level them all up the same way.
The contracts are your daily quests and they are very important to do as they give you upgrade materials, they also give you coins to spend at a special merchant to buy more upgrading materials, they also have beginner purple gear for level 50 for your class as well. Around the world there are different people to give you contracts, so you want ones for your level range, but they are quick to do.
What do you mean by "It's in Unreal 4? Not even in Unreal 5?" When they started their development, Unreal 5 wasn't even a thing. So they picked the latest stable and stronger engine for their needs. Unreal Engine 4 is a really solid engine, and it seems they were able to tweak it really well to fit their needs. I agree with you, Unreal Engine 5 is better, but it doesn't mean Unreal Engine 4 is bad, it's still an incredibly powerful engine.
Public events in BDO are Field and World Bosses...and that random occurrence that happens in certain Valencia zones (eg. Desert Fogans)

Hey there ! Great video ! I wanted to mention that the reference video is kindof outdated, there's a lot missing like PVE Tier 2 dungeons, which are harder (way harder) dungeons where you need to practice a lot and play with a good comp. There's a lot more that was added to the game or just modified by the dev to make it more F2P friendly or less grindy or even less RNG based. Good vid nonetheless :)
This honestly actually sounds pretty good for the most part. I personally don't care about PTW because i never do and it doesn't bother me that other people around me do. As long as there is an in game progression to get eventually to the same goal im fine with that

yeah i have been staying in the dark on throne and liberty it actually looks decent though. it also looks like its taking a warframe approach with their premium currency which i guess time will tell with that
skill tree reminds me of Tera and Blade N Soul, games looks decent and it do see the inspired aspect from FFXIV. Reminds me of a game called Cabal that i used to play, might just try it out :)

Warframe has a somewhat same thing going on. Their premium currency, PLATINUM, can be traded to other players, that's why F2P isnt that rough in that game. I wonder if thatll be the same for this game, since you're farming for the premium currency.... anyways, the farming of skills in the world got my attention tbh

Its Exactly the same in Korea as it was in the cbt. That was actually a stress test. And will only live as lone as the whales that swipe everyday stay playing it. The pvp is just who has the more people on there side. And premium currency in the market place is just preditory practices. And may even be braking the law for sale of items you dont own
1) There is plenty of end-game PVE, and people spend average 30+ minutes to clear one dungeon. They have to retry multiple times because even if 1 person makes a mistake and dies, boss will enrage and everyone will die.
2) There are ways to be one of the top players being F2P, and he makes it sound almost impossible. Min/maxing is very important, and a F2P player will be stronger than a new P2W whale in the the game. Sure, it is a P2W by your definition of P2W. However -- there are items that are time-gated (twice a week, only like 10 people get the drop per week), AND it's a random drop (although based on dmg%). If the person who got the random drop decides to use it and not sell it, he can never sell it again (once any upgrade has been made). You can't buy certain items because people just don't sell it. There is no "lootbox" to get it either.
3) You don't actually need 9 pieces of the same gear to fully max it, you acutually only need 3, one for each trait.
4) a lot of people don't know but you lose 5% exp per death. once you reach 20 deaths (-100% exp essentially or -1 level), you don't actually go down a level, you get a debuff. Your deaths can be cleared with "resurrection coins" that are essentially f2p currency. never ran out of it or had to worry about it. For reference, each ressurection is 37 coins, I have a consistent stack of 9k+ as an active pvp member in the top guild.
5) there are a total of 21 unique weapon combinations available. EVERY single weapon (7 total) can do some sort of DPS. each weapon combination will have a best-in-slot item, but even within the item, the BiS depends on your build, secondary weapon, pve/pvp, etc. There will be F2P alternatives that are as good or even objectively better than p2w options. So P2W players can't just buy it, they have to grind for it (ie. the BiS Staff weapon by running dungeons (which is ALSO time-gated per day))

trust me, its not, if you got used to BDO for years then throne and liberty isn't for you... i played in west beta and it was the same as it was in kr. clunky combat and fighting with monsters feels like you should take one mob at a time... not a hater for throne and liberty, i waited this game since 2019 and when it arrived... after 6 hours of gameplay i decided it's not for me
not really 1 mob at a time, there is class that u can lure mobs and kill them at the same time :)
played the game a few weeks in korea, the open world is amazing but the combat is garbage and the game is a zerg game, the dungeons are ugly as fuck

They already added a mastery swap system through updates. They added an insane amount of new systems, changes, balances, content in the past 4 months of the beginning of this year. New content literally almost every patch. I looked through a week or 2 ago and there was literally only 2 patches that didnt have significant changes and were only bug fixes. Both of which were holidays if i remember correctly.

Right at this moment the T&L world is a bit lifeless. It doesn't have the BDO feel. The combat is not BDO action combat. You have to get the parchments and the medallions to do meaningful gear/trait progression and you can't buy those from the shop. My feelings after playing, at least at this point is neutral. You have to keep your RMB depressed pretty much at all times to turn about. Kind of takes away from the combat immersion. The monster respawn rates the world over is about what you get at Blood Wolf Settlement. The game has huge potential and the devs are committed (in one way or another 😉).
Am not falling for another korean mmo ever again, whole genre can die tomorrow if u ask me

There is P2W but in my opinion it's far less egregious than BDO's - like you buy pearls > buy costumes for pearls > sell the costumes for silver (Using this example instead of melting for crons for a more similar comparison) > buy the gear with that silver. TnL is like exactly the same but without the buying costume step - buy lucent > buy the items. The difference is, whoever sold the item gets the whales premium currency, which they can spend themselves on the market for their own upgrades OR use in the proper TnL cash shop.
Like imagine if a whale bought your PEN BS for say 50,000 pearls instead of the silver value and you could then spend those pearls on items yourself or buy all the weight/inventory, tents etc yourself from that sale.
That would be pretty bonkers

@@ajb5892 It makes it better than Black Desert if you can be paid premium currency from whales and be set for life. BDO disallows trading, so a friend can't "overpay" for your pearl shop outfit.

My favorite part is where people say this about literally every game - and are at best right 50% of the time. WoW is one of the most bot plagued and directly P2W games out there, and one of the most popular.
There's going to be someone that argues WoW is not P2W.
You can buy tokens with USD, directly from the company. You can sell the token - in game - for in game, gold. With this gold you can either directly buy gear depending on the expansion, or pay players to get you the gear / achievements, GDKPs geared whales in a day through some of the classic content, that formerly took weeks/months. Boosting is incredibly rampant in Arena PvP. You can watch people stream it even, pay me x 100ks/30min-1hr to play with me, etc. You can - directly - pay to progress and win in WoW, and have been able to for a very long time if you either have money or know how to farm substantial amounts of gold.

It's different, BDO is pretty mush a single player game with flashy weighty impactful character animations where you enjoy grinding in circles for hours.
TL is the game where you do daily content with friends and group up with your guild for PvP against other guilds. They are fixing the zerg mechanics.
It's not for everyone, it's far from perfect, but just like how BDO improved a LOT over the years, they are making efforts too. Just give it the benefit of the doubt.
Why does everyone sum up BDO as “that game where you grind in circles for hours”? Vast majority of players grind for 1 hour a day or less. Lifeskills have been buffed and more pvp modes have been releasing lately. Solare requires you to have add ons unlocked and T1-T2 nodewars require tuvala gear. Kind of outdated to reduce all that to “running in circles”
