Another great video wonderful looking river. We need some rain down here as well. When we try and fish the rivers around here all we hear is no fishing private property bah bah bah. Sadly its become not worth the argument. I assume your in a national park?

Cheers mate, this river runs through private farms. I only saw a family having a swim, they just smiled and waved. I have had a farmer yell at me once but I nicely explained that I'm walking in the river and not on his land. He said he is calling the police, I said no worries, I'm fishing here all day so I'll chat to them when they arrive, no police came lol. I have asked permission to cross through some properties before to get the river, most say yes and thank me for asking first.

@@LoveYakken The farmers must be nicer up there, the more you try to talk to them (calmly) the more toxic they become. Anyway thanks again for the great videos. Cheers

Nothing beats catching a beautiful fish in it’s matched surroundings! Yeah you could be outback in one of the stocked dam’s catching monsters and baking in the heat surrounded by rocky arid land! As far as I’m concerned One 30cm stream bass is worth 100 4+kg dam bass!

100% agree, seems more rewarding catching a wild natural bass than stocked dam bass. And you can't beat a day out in the Aussie bush river systems.👍👍👍

I usually walk this section and don't even bother taking the kayak if the river is under 1.4 metres. Have done the system from the top many times.
Theres an absolute belter that lives adjacent to the big pool where you fished for a while. Have had heaps of arguments regarding access. He doesn't worry me but his dogs do, so keep a look out.
Just remember Section 38 Fisheries Management Act 1994.
The main section of river you started on fished well a few weeks ago. We did a down river session to the bridge at the next town, about 12 kms.
If we get rain the little creek you were in fishes well but you have to go right up.

Cheers for the info, I must just be lucky?? I have only had the one farmer I mentioned above that wasn't happy I was in his part of the river. I had a farmer right at the top of the main river, just before it turns to national park, come charging towards me and was expecting an argument, but we chatted for a while and when he left said I'm welcome to camp by the river on his property anytime I'm up there.
The small creek in this vid that I only went a few K's up, I have been meaning to fish right up to the head water for years, hopefully this season I'll hit it a few times if we ever get some rain. Thanks mate.

@@LoveYakken yep I’ve had the same problem up that road you mentioned. Except it was a lady. She went absolutely nuts at me. She ended up calling the police taking photos etc etc. Obviously nothing came of it but super annoying and leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
The smaller system really needs some rain to make it worth the trip. You can walk for ages and eventually get to a waterfall. Gets very bouldery and bass start thinning out at that point.
I’ve been fishing the cousin river mentioned in this video. Gets fished less and has been more productive.
It eventually joins the bigger river down towards the ocean.
No doubt I’ll see you around. I ran into you up arra way this year. I was going for a dive. ✌️

Aaahhh, Gowie, hey mate, Mrgowson didn't ring a bell lol, Sure Im bound to run into you out there eventually. Nice part of the world , kinda funny that I talk to heaps of people who fish around that area but rarely actually see anyone out there fishing. @@mrgowson

Hey mate, think you missed a word out in your question, but I'll have a guess😁 The reel is my cheap bush basher, Shimano Sedona and the rod is a Shimano Ultegra.

@LoveYakken lol yep missed a word or two, I was asking about the chatterbait you where using

    • @LoveYakken
      @LoveYakken  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yeah no worries, it's a Imakatsu Alive Chatter, it's my "go to" lure if things are quiet. They aren't cheap but worth it in my opinion, they are well weighted so can cast them a mile and make a lot of vibration through the water which seems to fire the bass up to strike. Good luck.
