But yeah, peeling is her main role in the game. For starters the mercy should have been pocketing a DPS, that's what she does,, pocketing the tank is for the other support

Exactly! What I do to boost morale is endorse the players that really deserve it but also in game I say thank you. Additionally, whenever a player says a automated voice line I just reply as mercy with 'yes' or 'understood'. It lightens the mood. Saying thanks and hello or good game can make a huge difference. Be a team player and have sportsmanship.

I completely agree. I was so confused why she mainly was on Dva so much. I didn’t really trust the Mercy so I kinda stuck with them more a bit which i should have just stayed more with dps. Some situations it was harder because there was times where the team was spread out so it was harder to get to them, that’s why I wish mercy just stuck with dps instead of chillin with dva most of the time cuz I could have just healed her and mercy could have stayed with dps. Yall, as a support main, please stick up for your teammates. When yall see stuff like this, all you have to do is tell the person to be quiet because you can't concentrate. A simple "Clear the comms please" or "Productive callouts only" usually helps, because they aren't used to being checked. It helps if you're not the one being targeted. So please, if you have someone on your team bullying another player, please try this tactic. Stick up for your teammates, otherwise, you're enabling the toxic player. Edit: If they ramp it up, advise everyone to leave the voice chat. Just be like "I'm getting off voice, feel free to message me in the chat" cause this guy isn't picking on DVA because he's right, he's picking on dVa because he's a terrible player with no confidence, game sense, or ability to maneuver his character confidently.

Id also like to mention that our Dva really was trying in the beginning but I feel like as the game progressed they kinda fell off and did their own thing due to the mercy just bossing them around or honestly we were falling off in the beginning because mercy thought she was right and Dva tried listening to mercy every two seconds. I also know my gameplay is actually garbage and I could have done many things differently but it was early in the morning and I barely got sleep. But yeahhh. Tbh you did fine. Your team won when the Mercy actually participated, then you were playing down a person for over half the match. If he just let you focus the tank and picked a dps to pocket, you would have won. Instead he took the way out that shows he’ll never climb to what he thinks he deserves cause one “bad” teammate will cause him to throw.
For real, having a positive attitude changes everything. I had a game with a couple of folks that were acting super cool and chill, they wanted to keep playing together and with me so I joined them and they were super nice as well as I. We were chilling, we lost a game and it didn't matter. And they even gave me a confidence boost because they told me I was a pretty good tank. That really made me feel confident and I told them they were great DPS and sup. I agree with the folk here that says that you should say something. I usually do it when they are flaming a teammate or even an enemy and they end up shutting up.

What's funny is that the game determines your performance during the game, so this mercy who stopped HEALING, is not DAMAGE BOOSTING and is now adding DEATH by killing herself, this player most likely lost more SR with this defeat than the DVA did cause at least she kept dealing damage. So at the end of the day, the Mercy thought they were getting back at the DVA, but ended up playing themselves.
Rule 1 of any competitive game: never judge people for playing on the level they're at. If you notice a team mate struggling, give them some constructive feedback and say things that bring back confidence. You'll not only stop ruining the day of someone trying to learn, you'll actively get more wins as well.

I hope you reported the Mercy for their unnecessary behavior. As a guy who plays healer and most of my time is spent on Mercy, you don’t damage boost a tank unless they’re doing ok and getting the damage off. Dva is good in my book and I feel bad for them. Dude something happened like this to me too while i was playing Tracer (I played a bit of OW1 but i was still fairly new) and two guys just started trashing on me in chat. I literally cried because they told people in chat to report me because i was “throwing” when tracer was one of the only characters i knew how to play at the time. This community doesn’t understand what “team-based game” means and it shows.
SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME WITH KIRIKO!! i was really new to playing support but i still got super good heals in the game, and my whole team started flaming me for "not healing enough" even though our moira had basically taken over all healing and got to everyone before i could teleport. they all reported me and i haven't touched comp since then. people also don't realize that support characters aren't called healers for a reason. they're called SUPPORT characters. 😟 i just dont want to deal with all of the toxicity and it's genuinely so draining to even play the game. people don't realize that the more they complain about others not playing well enough and that they "always get shitty teammates," they're never going to get people who actually likes playing with them.

As a support main myself I'm thankful that you didn't give up and even swapped heroes to help your team. The Mercy on the other hand, he needs a voice ban and a reality check badly, and needs to stop one tricking.
As someone which plays even in competitive, the first thing which i do before starting the match is to disable voice chat. A simple solution that helps a lot.
Unfortunately, there are people like that who will have a fit and throw the game. I'd say just report players and hopefully your teammates report them too so they can get banned. We don't need people like that in the game. The dude probably blames his team for being in the rank he is stuck in lol In lower elos your rank is based on your performance not just by your wins and losses. The best thing you can do in situations like that is just play your role. In this case keep yourself alive and support your team it'll help you rank up. If you have a teammate that's feeding don't chase them into death try to help them out as much as possible without feeding yourself. Remmember if your teammate feed and died your still alive to support the rest of your team but if you followed your teammate and died you no longer can support anyone. Even in higher ranks, you'll get that player who throws. All you can do is take the loss and do your best.
If you have someone on the team that's doing what the mercy is just tell everyone to report for abusive chat and throwing in all chat, and hope they do, as an enemy I probably would considering mercy just jumped off the map over and over again

You are only as strongest as your weakest link. No ship will fall if people combine their strength to sail. The issue with toxicity is it's a self fulfilling prophecy and the wild thing about this game is Diamond+ I've found to be are actually MORE chill and LESS toxic the higher you climb (outside of fallen Masters and GMs haha). To the DVA out there, DONT STOP. Find a squad of cool people and sail together.
That mercy should get some type of emotional help. Like a therapist or something. This behaviour 100% stems from some type of personality disorder. To throw after a win because you're not happy with how your tank is playing is insane. Flaming is one thing but flaming after a win is something else.

Something like this happened to me the other day when tryna play comp and our soldier got mad at me for using a ice wall to help block from getting shot at and he yelled at me. Then got mad at me for not going on the point when playing Widow and try 1v5 them cuz everyone else was dead and he expected me to do all that as a LONG RANGE CHARACTER.

As a Tank main I admit I blame heals a lot! But when I try to be a healer myself I see exactly how hard it is to heal when tank is pushing too much “me” all I could say is everyone has their own mindset and game sense so don’t blame someone for being bad instead try building off it and try your best until the end to help them. The only time I will ever yell at a heal again is if I get a gyat dang battle mercy>:(

Obviously you want to form a strategy with your team members, but do you at the same time. For example someone shouldn't tell you how to fight and be an asshole about it when you're doing yo job. If one person tells you to do something don't listen the whole team should agree on it to make sure it's a good plan. If someone says kindly could you watch flank, you could watch it and do it whatever way you like, but if they say "Watch flank, hit your shots trashcan." Fuck that guy don't listen to them you do you. Plan, and simple you do you.
Reminds me of a mercy I once had on my team that claimed I was overextending but in the replay not only did they not know how to super jump and they kept damage boosting a junkrat who sat in spawn and they never even touched the point. I think they thought the point was that other room opposite it because they would sit in there without any teamates and complain about being the only one on point when it wasn't even the point they were on.

I actually played again with him a few days ago. He basically did the same thing. I was so shocked and was like no way. I did say in chat that I made a video about him but I doubt he looked at it. Thank god though we won that game.

Mercy should have been healing/damage boosting dps and not pocketing the Dva. In all honestly, Mercy as the one who completely threw.

I completely agree. I was so confused why she mainly was on Dva so much. I didn’t really trust the Mercy so I kinda stuck with them more a bit which i should have just stayed more with dps. Some situations it was harder because there was times where the team was spread out so it was harder to get to them, that’s why I wish mercy just stuck with dps instead of chillin with dva most of the time cuz I could have just healed her and mercy could have stayed with dps. Idk it just makes more sense

If you see a mercy heal botting a tank it’s a wrap especially if your dps are getting dumpstered and your mercy just doesn’t give a fuck. Yall, as a support main, please stick up for your teammates. When yall see stuff like this, all you have to do is tell the person to be quiet because you can't concentrate. A simple "Clear the comms please" or "Productive callouts only" usually helps, because they aren't used to being checked. It helps if you're not the one being targeted. So please, if you have someone on your team bullying another player, please try this tactic. Stick up for your teammates, otherwise, you're enabling the toxic player.
Edit: If they ramp it up, advise everyone to leave the voice chat. Just be like "I'm getting off voice, feel free to message me in the chat" cause this guy isn't picking on DVA because he's right, he's picking on dVa because he's a terrible player with no confidence, game sense, or ability to maneuver his character confidently.

Id also like to mention that our Dva really was trying in the beginning but I feel like as the game progressed they kinda fell off and did their own thing due to the mercy just bossing them around or honestly we were falling off in the beginning because mercy thought she was right and Dva tried listening to mercy every two seconds. I don’t understand why people complain to throw but will be the ones to throw? Make it make sense. I also know my gameplay is actually garbage and I could have done many things differently but it was early in the morning and I barely got sleep. But yeahhh. Either way don’t talk to people like this. Don’t boss people around because the game isn’t going the way YOU want. Tbh you did fine. Your team won when the Mercy actually participated, then you were playing down a person for over half the match. If he just let you focus the tank and picked a dps to pocket, you would have won. Instead he took the way out that shows he’ll never climb to what he thinks he deserves cause one “bad” teammate will cause him to throw.

For real, having a positive attitude changes everything. I had a game with a couple of folks that were acting super cool and chill, they wanted to keep playing together and with me so I joined them and they were super nice as well as I. We were chilling, we lost a game and it didn't matter. And they even gave me a confidence boost because they told me I was a pretty good tank. That really made me feel confident and I told them they were great DPS and sup.
I agree with the folk here that says that you should say something. I usually do it when they are flaming a teammate or even an enemy and they end up shutting up.

What's funny is that the game determines your performance during the game, so this mercy who stopped HEALING, is not DAMAGE BOOSTING and is now adding DEATH by killing herself, this player most likely lost more SR with this defeat than the DVA did cause at least she kept dealing damage. So at the end of the day, the Mercy thought they were getting back at the DVA, but ended up playing themselves.

Unfortunately, there are people like that who will have a fit and throw the game. I'd say just report players and hopefully your teammates report them too so they can get banned. We don't need people like that in the game. The dude probably blames his team for being in the rank he is stuck in lol In lower elos your rank is based on your performance not just by your wins and losses. The best thing you can do in situations like that is just play your role. In this case keep yourself alive and support your team it'll help you rank up. If you have a teammate that's feeding don't chase them into death try to help them out as much as possible without feeding yourself. Remmember if your teammate feed and died your still alive to support the rest of your team but if you followed your teammate and died you no longer can support anyone. Even in higher ranks, you'll get that player who throws. All you can do is take the loss and do your best.
If you have someone on the team that's doing what the mercy is just tell everyone to report for abusive chat and throwing in all chat, and hope they do, as an enemy I probably would considering mercy just jumped off the map over and over again

I would raise a mayor eyebrow if my dva was just face tanking the enemy like a npc instead of flanking or harrasing the enemy hit and run style. The issue with toxicity is it's a self fulfilling prophecy and the wild thing about this game is Diamond+ I've found to be are actually MORE chill and LESS toxic the higher you climb (outside of fallen Masters and GMs haha). Something like this happened to me the other day when tryna play comp and our soldier got mad at me for using a ice wall to help block from getting shot at and he yelled at me. Then got mad at me for not going on the point when playing Widow and try 1v5 them cuz everyone else was dead and he expected me to do all that as a LONG RANGE CHARACTER.
How he immediately attacked the player and his call outs werent good/helpful 90% of the time made me angry so fast.

As a Tank main I admit I blame heals a lot! But when I try to be a healer myself I see exactly how hard it is to heal when tank is pushing too much “me” all I could say is everyone has their own mindset and game sense so don’t blame someone for being bad instead try building off it and try your best until the end to help them. The only time I will ever yell at a heal again is if I get a gyat dang battle mercy>:(
But Mercy has a pistol for a reason. Especially if you are sucking at killing the target both of you are focused on. I’m a GM support Mercy main, but I can flex to any healer needed.

Obviously you want to form a strategy with your team members, but do you at the same time. For example someone shouldn't tell you how to fight and be an asshole about it when you're doing yo job. If one person tells you to do something don't listen the whole team should agree on it to make sure it's a good plan. If someone says kindly could you watch flank, you could watch it and do it whatever way you like, but if they say "Watch flank, hit your shots trashcan." Fuck that guy don't listen to them you do you. Plan, and simple you do you.
Reminds me of a mercy I once had on my team that claimed I was overextending but in the replay not only did they not know how to super jump and they kept damage boosting a junkrat who sat in spawn and they never even touched the point. I think they thought the point was that other room opposite it because they would sit in there without any teamates and complain about being the only one on point when it wasn't even the point they were on.

I actually played again with him a few days ago. He basically did the same thing. I was so shocked and was like no way. I did say in chat that I made a video about him but I doubt he looked at it. I tried to message him on playstation but he had privacy settings. Wanted him to just look at the video and see how ridiculous he is. Maybe he will at one day who knows. Thank god though we won that game.
