yep, but sadly the one and only tree perished years ago. luckily, they managed to take all the branches and connect them with other trees. Thats why probably in 4 to 5 years there will be musang king in thailand. how they managed to sneak out those branches are not known. thaiand should just stick with their durian but they know musang king is the gold so they need to do something.

@@atansapian4099 oh really, that is too bad. Hopefully musang king durian does'nt taste as good except those planted in Malaysia. When musang king durians from Thailand and Indonesia are flooding the market musang king durian won't fetch good prices in China anymore.

Btw there is another sister of the rambutan called the pulasan which is waaaay easier to open and my favorite. Its called pulas-an because to open the fruit you just pulas or twist the fruit. The pulasan resembles the rambutan from afar but upon holding the fruit in your hands.....you ll see a noticeable difference. It tastes similar but better than rambutan too in my opinion. The rambutan...pulasan and lychee are related i believe.

I miss those kinds of wooden kampung houses. So nostalgic. My late grandparents used to live in those wooden kampung houses. Still remember those cold nights and blazing hot mid days. And I hate when I have to pee and defecate at night since back then the toilets are built separated and away from the house. While I'm glad that the wooden house was later modernized, still I miss the aesthetic, the atmosphere and seeing sunlight peeking through some holes of the zinc roof.

You will find many non Malays of Kelantan speak perfect local Malay dialect as opposed to other states in Malaysia. This doesn't happen much in other parts of Malaysia except for Sabah and Kelantan. Don't know why.

Love this episode. I had no idea Musang King originated from Kelantan despite it being my favourite! In Penang there are some cool Durian tours as well and reputed to have a very very very old tree that's still bearing fruit. It is said that some of the best durians come from the oldest trees because as a durian tree age, it's fruits become even more flavourful with a lot more depth. It's a strange season in Malaysia at the moment where we have cheaper variations of durian like the D24 in the market that came from older trees and their flavours are on par (but slightly different) from Musang King and sometimes even better! Penang produces some of the most unique variants although Pahang is also a great place to get exposed to the durians in Malaysia.
For a lot of smaller towns in Malaysia, usually the eateries will have contact of some freelance private drivers (however they are not as regulated as e-hailing services in Malaysia). It's how the locals without cars travel around and it is also good to keep around some of their numbers in case you need an urgent ride somewhere. It would be best to get it from more reputable eateries in the area since you will be driven around by some strangers. And good to take down their car details and contact numbers and send them to fellow travellers who are not in the same car while you are taking the ride just so that somebody is informed about your whereabouts and can make a police report if at worst case scenario, you met a dodgy driver and some bad stuff is going on 😂 Just in case! Stay safe and have fun!

I totally enjoyed this very informative, historical cultural presentation...well presented with great narration like watching good documentary..superb...not nonsensical..wish all the house tours was given longer screen time . this kind of preservation if not appreciated and leave to decay or destruction is a real waste or forgotten ...I never knew these places or people existed but I truly appreciate this knowledge and bring back nostalgic memories ..
Steve seems really good when narrating all temple's, mosques, homes, etc....great improvement from what Steve commented on Penang vlog..just too many temple visits. 😅😅😂😂😅
Kelantan, is way up north and such big state..so for those from South west coast or further states with lower budget tend to give Kelantan a miss as car trip and petrol can be rather costly and long long drive to get from one place to another place if they not have enough knowledge on where or what to visit and how to navigate to cover all that the state can offer..
I did mention before your first vlog on durians that best durians can be from Kelantan or Gua Musang region.. but I was wondering how both of you will ever get to try durians there ..
Glad both of you managed to work your way there..
I also heard there is a beautiful highway that connects Kelantan to west coast Perak, Gerik,Lenggong,Kuala Kangsar also very old historical .
When your vlogs offers so much info and scenaries and details to what you trying to explain , I tend to keep repeat watch or use it to share to others
