  • We sold our 1105 after owning it for over 30 years, it truly is an end of an era on the farm. We are replacing it with a CaseIH 1594, it was built very late in 1987, only 384 1594's were built at the David Brown factory in Meltham after this one.

    Nice little upgrade there... that was a quick turnaround finding what you wanted🤣 Already making it look a shiny new machine. Turbo will make it pull good... don't even need it to boost a whole lot either for what you might need it for.

      They are a tough old tractor, it was good to us for a lot of years.
      I was happy to find one as quick as I did, although when I first started looking it had to be in original condition and had to be a 1988, I made a few compromises but I think it was for the better.

      Noooo, we'll have to get a couple more Masseys yet to restore the balance lol. I do like a lot of the newer CaseIH's, well 90's I guess, the 5100/5200 Maxxum and the later MX Maxxum, I still think the boxcar magnum might be the greatest tractor ever built lol. But the money they want for them all is crazy, I can buy nicer masseys with half the hours for less money.

      They have some serious grunt, we are running it on the blower now it has way more torque than the 4cyl turbo 4253, same rated hp, that 6cyl makes all the difference. Probably burning less fuel too.

      @@macfarms we dont know yet its from 89 and its loader tractor and wore out we bought it in italy and inported it in Croatia. We used to load feed wagon with it and now its only for manure loading and hay stacking and rest of little jobs what incudes four wheel drive tractor. And used to be manure mixing,tedding and raking hay tractor but its replaced with Zetor 6211. We are all Zetor fans we own from 59 hp ( 6211) to 160hp ( ZTS 16245) and we bought Belarus 1021.3 last year maybe will be replaced with 2 nd brand new belarus

      The new zetors look pretty decent. Belarus never made much of a name for themselves here, they sold a lot in the 80's I guess but most of them have been pushed into the woods or left to rust at the edges of fields lol not sure if they've improved much, branded as MTZ now I think

      It did. Rated at 100hp PTO, 1594 is only 85hp. The 1105 was a larger tractor as well, around 12,000lbs, 1594 is right around 10,000

      It's got enough power it will do most of the same jobs, the White and 6280 can handle the stir stick and manure tanker. This one is a little better suited for field work than the 1105 was, with the 4wd and diff lock, 4 speed powershift, and air con. Like I said it's not really a direct replacement but for us it is replacing the 1105. lol

    @bufferbridge ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you wont get anymore HP without more fuel going in, just putting a turbo on it gives you nothing

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The air is enough to make more power, you don't need to add more fuel. Not building a pulling tractor out of it, your talking about going from 85 to 125hp, not a huge jump. The 1694 fuel pump is turned down compared to the 1594, that's why it has 100hp, when you put the same turbo on a 1594 it makes 120hp. Proven formula I'm not reinventing the wheel, lots have done it, they sell complete kits.

    • @bufferbridge
      @bufferbridge ปีที่แล้ว

      If only it were that simple, a turbocharger allows more air (oxygen) to be squeezed into each cylinder ,allowing more fuel to be burnt resulting in more power,just adding a turbo would be a costly exercise resulting in no gain in performance

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not going to agrue with you, I'm just saying it's been done and dyno'd probably hundreds of times, and the results are pretty well proven. I've personally talked to several people who have done it and put their tractors on a dyno afterward. If it was a gas engine, I would agree with you, but on diesels, boost makes power. Boost plus fuel makes even more, but boost alone still makes power.

    • @bufferbridge
      @bufferbridge ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not looking for an argument Scott, just didn't want you to be dissapointed with the end result after spending time & money on it, looks a nice tractor, making serious money over here in the UK, good to have you back making video's

    • @bradleamon4466
      @bradleamon4466 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What a load of bullshit the only thing that brings the hydrashift undone is shit maintenance and incorrect operation same as the selectamatic hydraulics I have my father's 880 selectamatic which he purchased new in 1969 it has done 15000 plus hours and the only thing that has been done to the hydraulic s is replacing the lift ram seals so it proves that changing the gearbox oil and filter every year and keeping the boots on the gearsticks in as new condition by replacing as soon as they need it is cheap insurance
