      It's not that hard to get Darcy to weld, I'm sure he just knows if some one needs welding within 100 km and then he just goes and does it haha.
      We can't wait to sail to New Zealand :-)

    It’s amazing how the charter companies have flooded the community with catamarans. In 1986 my brother and I were often the only Cats in a marina. Marinas had trouble finding a place to dock us. We would get so excited when the occasional eccentric Britt would sail in on their Snowgoose. There was a French couple on an aluminum Cat that we crossed paths with a few times and a pair of Marine Biologist on a Wharram.
    The Catalacks, Solaris and a few other production Cats were seldom seen on the high seas. Before 1990, if a Cat was crossing oceans, it was a Prout. I am so happy to see you carrying on the tradition.
    BTW, I also carried a TIG welder onboard, also the Myford lathe. It is a great feeling to share your skills with the community.

    • @sailing.supernova
      @sailing.supernova  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We feel so safe on our Prout! knowing all the oceans they have crossed in the past makes us feel that if we keep learning we can do it to!
      Darcy loves welding on other peoples boats, now if i could only get him to do as much welding on supernova haha :-)
      It must have been such a cool feeling knowing you had one of the few cats that could take you anywhere!

    Great video. One thing about your vent boxes. You should have made the bottom of the box sloped so as not to allow the box to fill up, that way it will drain.

    100% critical Weather proof speaker install. I heard Yevette just like you Darcy..... Shes glad you took time out of your guys busy day to get much needed music to the deck despite MANY other jobs which needed to be done. Dear Sailing Supernova
    👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! What a great video. Y'all did sooo incredibly much work and finished jobs, it's quite impressive ho much progress happened. Congratulations 🎉 Great to see that you are all helping each other. The boating community seems to be the same = great all over the world. 2) Of course I'm still the procrastination king because of decades of experience. But I have to admit that you came quite close. For instance: Not to be able to shut and secure a door for a year because of the satellite cable going through, almost made my king's throne shaky. 😁 ;-) 3) The new sail is looking great. Will you keep the old one as a spare or get rid of it to gain more space for other stuff? 4) It's great to have a friend with a 3D plodda! 😁 ;-) I'm also thankful to him, that he managed the problem with the bilge pump while you're away. A sunken pink cat is amongst the last things I wanna see. 4) The coconut debarker/dehusker is really nice to have. 5) Last but not least: When and where will CCTS (Coco's Canadian twin sister) arrive?
    Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
    Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.

    • @sailing.supernova
      @sailing.supernova  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It would be close between you and Darcy hahaha. We are going to keep it as a spare for now, but we could really use the space!

      Dear @@sailing.supernova
      Thanks for replying and especially for giving a heart to my comment. As you know I always and totally blablabla... 😁 ;-)
      2) Good news about CoCo (you already mentioned this in tte newest video). Unfortunately you seemed not to have liked the hymn for Coco sung by Mr. President!?
      3) No way and no chance at all! With a lot of luck (well deserved of course ;-) 😁) I bought an inexpensive house in 8/2018 and still haven't moved. Although I have absolutely no money to spare, I'm still paying rent for an apartment. All this because of chronic illness but mainly because of procrastination. Try to top that, you procrastination amateurs! But of course I grant you to be princess and prince of procra, you definitely earned the titles.
      Sincerely yours.

    You should have drilled the starlink cable hole higher up in the locker as that was a bulkhead that it went through also you need to seal the inside of the hole before the plywood gets wet. 😊 a water proof cable gland would be a good idea.

    • @sailing.supernova
      @sailing.supernova  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We did bunch of fiberglass work there so the wood is safe, the bulkhead is just a bit more forward so we should be good with that to, plus with any luck we will stop water from getting in there soon haha :-)
      The big problem is the cable has 3/4 things on it which makes it a pain in the but to move anywhere

    What an outstanding video I like the fact that you show the jobs you were doing showed a small portion of it. About that anchor they do have anchor mounts that you can mount on a side rail I think they're called anchor stanchion or something like that I don't know how heavy that anchor is but it's something you could check out I don't know if it's something that Brian could make on his 3D printer for you but it would be a nice way to store the anchor out of your way out not in the locker and free that back up for your fuel cans. You guys always push it to the limit, living life on the edge as they call it. Pray that you guys have a safe travel and all goes well until next week God bless and stay safe out there

      We are doing our best to offload things from the boat now, its hard because you never know when you are going to need something.

    Just use your drill as a screwdriver use a set of bits and adapter driver .. just reduce the speed and start with a low torque settings or you will rip out whatever your svrewing into esp. GRP.

      We do need to start using lower speeds, it would save us a lot of extra fiberglassing holes

    What type of plastic is Brian using for those 3d printed objects, how uv resistant are they and any idea of how long they will last in such harsh environment 31:44

      Its ABS plastic, it should hold up really well to the UV

    Maybe I'm missing something? But why can't you get screwdriver bits and use your drill as a power screwdriver? Just a thought. Great video as always. ♥️

    Dear Ivette.
    At 44.17 min: Is it possible that you like wearing colourful things? 😁 ;-) By the way: Somehow you look a bit different since before your trip.
    Best regards, luck and health in particular.

      Dear @@sailing.supernova
      You don't say!? I would've never guessed that! 😁 ;-)
      2) Thanks for replying and especially for giving a heart to my comment. As you know, I always and totally appreciate both very much.
      3) You really look different. Are you okay (healthy) and simply found some pounds in Australia? Or do you have to "eat for two"? I don't want to annoy you and you don't need to answer. I'm just a little bit concerned. But of course your smile is bright and shiny like stars as always.
      Sincerely yours.
