Now look at the empty stands in Torino Grand Prix final 2022-2023. It was Hanyu who grabbed our hearts and souls. All tickets to his ice shows in Japan are sold out now. People are dreaming about getting to the next show in Tokyo. So ,Yuzuru makes the world go round!

On top of that, this fall he performed in the first one man ice show in history, selling out both stops in Yokohama (which had a capacity of 10K seats) and Hachinohe. He also recently announced his next ice show in the Tokyo Dome, one of the largest entertainment venues in Japan (with 55K seats). So while Hanyu may not compete anymore, his success hasn't dwindled one bit

Unfortunately I have to agree with you about the inherent sexism with regard to comments in defence of Yuzuru by some of his female fans. As a 73 year old woman I am very angry at being treated as a second class citizen for my entire life and really tired of derogatory labels put on women's behaviour. With regard to Yuzuru he is unique. It has all been said before there is no one like him. What other figure skater could even dream of filling a 55,000 seat venue and by lottery! I am from Australia and would have paid anything to see him perform in Tokyo Dome. I even booked and paid for a hotel room close to TD and planned which flights I would take to get to Tokyo and my health is not good and it's quite a long trip. Of course since I don't have a Japanese phone number I couldn't be part of the lottery. I can absolutely assure you that I would not have done this for any other person. Hanyu Yuzuru san's talent and charisma and personal qualities are unsurpassed.

On top of that he is also the only men's singles skater to win 2 Olympic Championships. Not just consecutively but at all in the modern era since the 1950's. No other skater has two Olympic Golds in men's singles. The only person to come close is Evgeni Plushenko with an Olympic Gold and two Olympic silvers. The year that Plushenko helped his team to Gold, he got silver in men's singles. There is a reason Yuzu has the fame and popularity that he has. He's a phenomenon. An enigma. Magical.

Yes, Hanyu caught my attention since he was 15 years old, and I watched him grow on ice and turn into a complete skating artist, ( as I turned into what they call " fanyus" ...) And I'm so happy to say that in time he proved to be not only a great skater, ( maybe the best of all times, considering all his official achievments) but also a great human being, and all he does in and outside the ice rink should be inspiring for any human being...

With regard to Yuzuru he is unique. It has all been said before there is no one like him. What other figure skater could even dream of filling a 55,000 seat venue and by lottery! I am from Australia and would have paid anything to see him perform in Tokyo Dome. I even booked and paid for a hotel room close to TD and planned which flights I would take to get to Tokyo and my health is not good and it's quite a long trip. Of course since I don't have a Japanese phone number I couldn't be part of the lottery. I can absolutely assure you that I would not have done this for any other person. Hanyu Yuzuru san's talent and charisma and personal qualities are unsurpassed.

Yes, Hanyu caught my attention since he was 15 years old, and I watched him grow on ice and turn into a complete skating artist, ( as I turned into what they call " fanyus" ...) And I'm so happy to say that in time he proved to be not only a great skater, ( maybe the best of all times, considering all his official achievments) but also a great human being, and all he does in and outside the ice rink should be inspiring for any human being...

I so love watching him on the ice, he falls in line with those very extremely rare talents, like Bruce Lee, Eminem, even princess Diana who was a rare gem... for me there are no words to describe how Yuzuru Hanyu make me feel when I'm watching him skate, his strength, courage, beauty, he truly is the greatest of all.
