What a great way to honor Yuzuru by putting Beijing in number1 ! I am following his journey since 2021 and the time I was most proud of him was when he attempted 4A although he knew that he wouldn't jump it properly. He did it anyway because he is a man of his word, someone who lives for his honor and love for skating. Beijing is the event that anchored it for me. I will always remember how he fought with dignity while knowing that he wouldn't medal when he attempted and fell at 4A. Thank you for making people "cherish" the Beijing experience instead of presenting it as a "drama". 👏👏👏

For yuzu doing the 4A, was the second dream after taking the oltmpic gold in Schie 2014. It was when he was about 9 years old . For him it's not another competition, it is a chalenge. he is "mister perfect". He works very hard to give us the most beautiful and perfect creation . Yuzu say's about himseif that he is always challenger .
Yes that's the moment Beijing 4A 2022. It shows how much the audiences loved and cared him.

I know it's a sport & there'll be comparisons. However it's difficult to understand how anyone can be compared with Yuzu! I'm not saying other skaters are not good, in fact some of them are great. But isn't it obvious that Yuzu has set the standard so high? He was already the G. O. A. T way before. A medal.. A place on the podium.. A very difficult jump... Can these ever evaluate the worth of his magnificence? For me, No. What he has already achieved in his life.. Proving himself over & over. How much does anyone need to acknowledge that it's a fact - Yuzuru Hanyu is superior. I don't care about medals, I'm not gonna waste my time for those senseless numbers when I can admire Yuzu more. He has nothing to prove to anyone. I just hope he is really happy & healthy. And if he continues skating, I want him to do it for his own enjoyment. As a fan I'm always here to support him. It's an honor to watch him skate.

I only came to know about him a few days ago. Now I feel like I have been watching him forever. I want him to succeed so much, I have never seen anyone give it their all the way he does. He is a champion in every sense of the word. Even better- a legend.

I said it once and I will say it again. I was impressed 2014 Yuzu. I fell in love with the artistry in the sport thanks to 2018 PyeongChang Yuzu but it was 2022 Beijing Yuzu who motivated me and impacted me the most. Literally his "efforts will lie" is probably something I would quote for and live by for a long ass time:)
I was speechless when I saw you selected Beijing as #1 - Thank you so much for this, Beijing is so often ignored because fans only have negative associations. But I discovered Yuzu in BG, for me it was a magical time and I will cherish these memories forever. He showed the most beautiful character, strength, endurance, his interviews are full of wise and deep thoughts, he won the hearts of so many of us. His performances were mesmerising, captivating. A true inspiration. We can't and we should not erase Beijing, we should celebrate it.

You have no idea of how happy that makes me feel. That’s exactly the most beautiful part of this last Olympics and as a fan I was kind of worried that people would hate him for what happened or forget him. So I’m really happy that while watching it you could see what many of us have seen some time before. I’m relieved that you could see how brave and incredible this human being is, how inspiring is his passion for figure skating, how humble and kind he is with everyone around him… I’m just happy that you could see the bright side of it, just like Yuzu always finds a way to see the stars in the dark night sky 💛. @@wisteria5294 you said it beautifully, it's all true. I saw Yuzu's Tenchi performance in BG by chance - you could say I became a fan in 4 minutes. There was something different about him - an aura? Presence in the rink? Then - his skating, floating on ice, pure poetry, no-one came even close (and I didn't follow fs before, just watched this comp randomly). Next - his interviews and press con. I didn't even notice I was listening without interruption, I wanted to listen, because he was so wise, suddenly I could relate to his words even if I just found about his existence and never seen this man before. Also, when I learned about his struggles, injuries, I had the highest respect for him. And the rest is history.

And yes, with me was the same with seimei, but it was the love that other people showed to him that made me want to get to know him a little bit more, I think I’d never seen that much of pure love focused in one person before that day, but now I definitely know why is that so and I agree with my entire heart that this man deserves all of that and more.
@@wisteria5294 I only learned about him after his announcement, sadly. I got interested for the reasons you did and became a fan very quickly. I intensely watched everything I could find on youtube and learned the basics of figure skating (rules, scoring, jumps, etc.) because I never had any interest watching FS before. Now I know I will follow Yuzuru's career in the rest of my life and will support him in every way I can because he is such a great human being, he truly deserves it. Seeing him performing live got on my bucket list. I even started to learn Japanese. 😎
I still can't watch his Beijing performance, tho. He reached for the sky and he almost could touch it but only so slightly which visibly broke his heart a little. Watching him hurting is hurting for me to watch. But I know he did well because everyone said so and there will be a time when I will pull myself together and watch the full performance of his and I'm sure I will agree with all of you saying: exactly because of what happened, that was one of the greatest moment in his amateur career. I'm a bit 💔. 🙏

Can someone please clarify something for me? I got the impression that he turned around and cried at the interview after Beijing because of someone named Shiz-something? Sorry, couldn’t get the name right, but it was like he was crying in memory of a person and not because he lost? But every video with that clip implies that it was only about the loss and ignore what he actually said.

Affirmations are often the admonition of career coaches to help us shore up our flagging sense of ourselves. If we all knew, like Hanyu, why we were born here and what we were meant to do in this world, we could all be better off. He's such a highly evolved being! I look forward to his next evolution in life. I'm sure it'll thrill, enthral and delight us! Nice job to remind us of this unique and precious person, MaxRo!!

as long as hanyu is active in this sport this ice belongs to this people will keep coming in to see him skate his achievements do not matter at this point (noy in a negative sense he is above all this) watching him skate is a privilege at this point, if anyone on this earth i want to be like hanyu 1% the passion the respect he had for what he does is not something you see in people, there will be new records new champions new skaters new titles but hanyu will remain the figure every other skater wants to be like.

Lloré mucho cuando lo vi llorar a el, me partió el corazón verlo tan triste, ayudo q certificaran el 4A, honestamente yo no me esperaba que ni siquiera alcanzara un lugar en el podio, así es la vida, casi me dolió como si le hubiera pasado a alguien cercano, honestamente deje de ver sus videos de rutinas y de canales hermosos como este, disculpen que no lo escriba en inglés pero google nos ayuda con la barrera del idioma y aunque se inglés poco más de básico, no puedo explicar mis sentimientos en otro idioma, no podía creer que algo así me afectara emocionalmente, estaba tan emocionada y aunque no es importante porque igual lo queremos, no logró su Axel, me dolía su dolor, nunca me había pasado algo así, me sentía hasta fuera de lugar con mis emociones, pero entendí q para muchos Yuzu es mucho más que un mero deportista, se ha ganado nuestros corazones realmente, hoy ya puedo decir que quiero verlo sano y feliz, pero creo q a muchos nos dolió verlo tan mal emocionalmente, siempre sera el GOAT… saludos fanyu”s 😊.

What I love about Yuzuru is that he is not just so damn good in his skills he is also a very genuine person. He is not afraid to show his weakness and he always put all his heart in his performance. I think it's why he can touch so many people. We are blessed to be in the same era with him.

Then rising again to fight, wiser, bolder, confident, determined. Those and more, I think, are some of the best qualities that make Yuzuru Hanyu a great man, a super athlete and the Greatest of All Time! His life and achievements will forever be etched in sports and human history. Long live!🙏👏

His free skate in 2018 Olympics I feel like is just unmatched. As soon as he was done with all his jumps, and the music changes pace, we saw an almost LIBERATED HANYU. And that moment was just so incredibly powerful to watch. The crowd was with him, the music was with him, I was with him - completely mesmerised by such a performance. And don’t even get me started on his gala performance to the swan piece, I’m pretty sure I’ve cried watching that.
I understand why Beijing has to be part of this because it is now part of Yuzu's history and should not be forgotten -- it stands out as an example for everyone and anyone who has ever faced any challenge that feels insurmountable and impassable. Reliving his frustration and tears (thank God you used the Shuzo-san interview and not the Arakawa one; I'd have been a bigger bawling mess if I saw that clip again) really does remind you that difficult times happen even to the best of people, even to those who work the hardest or love the most ... but that it doesn't end there. There is always tomorrow, and as long as you hold on to who you truly are, that tomorrow will be brighter than all the yesterdays put together.

Before, I thought figure skating was boring and had no interest in it what so ever but I saw a youtube clip of yuzuru during the Olympics in Korea and I was so mesmerized. So, I looked up who he is and have been a fan ever since. Every time I see him on the ice, it is like a painting.

You made some very thoughtful and very true remarks. I think nearly all of us are thinking the same things: We respect and love Yuzuru Hanyu. Just being privileged to see his humility, respect and thoughtfulness to others, as well as his hard and tremendous work, is way more❤valuable to me than any medals he won. Those are all just gravy, as we say here in the South (USA)! Now that he's retired from competition, producing his own skating shows, newly married and approaching the old😂uncle stage (that's an awful lot in a short time), I personally wish him all the best, and I mean it when I say my prayers go with him. He's unforgettable.

I m having mixed feelings about it. I want yuzu to get some rest and time to heal but i just can't stand watching him retire.😢😢
He never said that. However, for international audiences, the only opportunity to see him skate mostly is during competitions. While ice shows are only for a limited number of audiences. Whatever his decision is, we must respect it though it will make us sad. We shouldn't add his burden by expecting too much. He has given too much to other people, it's time for others to give back to him.

Just back from the FaOI interview, he said he felt he could work much harder on 4A and complete it in the competition. We can still see him next season!

I believe that how someone acts in moments of adversity shows their true character. It is still hard for me to watch his competition skates in Beijing, but to see him pick himself back up and heal his heart in the practice skates after, taking the time to deeply ponder what the next step is, and then culminating in the emotional and mesmerizing gala performance... At that time, he said that the 4A he did might be the most perfect version he is able to achieve, but recently he once again declared that he will keep fighting for his childhood dream despite years of doing everything in his power. He has nothing left to prove, but watching him still improving and get up again and again is what truly makes him the GOAT
