    Does KTuner have functionality that allows you to change what information is displayed on your dashboard?
    For example:
    -- I want to always see what gear I am in. But the Accord displays that info only when you use the paddle shifters. As soon as you are back in automatic mode, the dashboard stops displaying your gear.
    -- Also, I always want to see the version of the tachometer that has the boost gauge, which the Accord reveals only while in Sport mode.
    I understand that the KTuner comes with a touch screen that displays whatever you want. But I do not want to connect and disconnect that unit from my windshield (leaving it there is asking for someone to break into your car). So I want to have my dashboard display that info.
    Is what I am looking for doable with the KTuner?
    Thank you.

    Hi! Thanks for the very thorough and helpful tutorial. I’m a total beginner here, so sorry if this is a dumb question, but was your car completely stock hardware-wise before you installed the tune? Or did you have to perform any hardware upgrades (i.e. bigger turbo, cold air intake, etc) prior to the tune in order for it to be effective (and safe)?

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The car was completely stock. They actually prefer the car be stock, the tune was developed on a car with zero modifications. As you make small changes (intake, exhaust, etc) you are changing the dynamics of the tune which can actually cause the car to run differently. You’d possibly need a secondary “retune” to adjust for the new parts. I will say, most guys are running the Ktuner with an assortment of bolt on’s and the car is performing very well.

    Like you said, you shouldn't flash directly to the ECU. Since you paid extra for the V.2, you may as well save your tunes to one of the five slots so that you can use them whenever you want via the actual unit. For people who don't understand the V.2, you don't need a laptop; you just need anything that can run the KTuner software so that you can save the tunes to the KTuner unit. The V1.2 is a different story, though.

    Is there options addressing aftermarket mods to your vehicle. For instance intake or exhaust? I have not been able to find information about this.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah Ktuner doesn’t address this. But you’ll be okay running both. Any changes to the exhaust system are negotiable, the stock system is actually pretty effective at its job and allows for straight pass through, so changing the system doesn’t make any difference except for noise.
      The intake is a different story. Most of the intakes on the market will require MAF scaling to prevent hesitation or stutter on acceleration. The intakes that don’t cause this problem are PRL stage 1 & 2. They actually perform very well with the Ktuner. I haven’t seen any accord video’s regarding scaling but you can find some on the civic.

      Fahrenheit Motorsports thanks so much! Already have a stage one PRL so sounds like I’m set! Plus the biggest thing for me was stage 2 duel tune 2.0.
      Give you eco button with stock boost levels.
      Normal driving more with 15 more HP.
      Sport mode with full boost and 33 more HP over stock tune.

      Francisco Martinez - here is the link for the 2.0
      If you have a 1.5, scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Accord 1.5 kit.
      ktuner.com/18accord2l/
      As far as the intercooler. It certainly would help, colder dense air provides more power. Larger intercooler like PRL provides more cooling surface area so the temperatures are lower in the intake manifold. It should increase your HP slightly. For the largest gain, you’ll want to look at replacing your downpipe and front pipe. That’s the choke point on this vehicle at the moment.

      @@solerider12 to clarify. You can drop the tune and then unplug the ktuner and run it without the device being in vehicle.
      It’s not required to have the ktuner plugged in and mounted to tune the car. I definitely recommend you get one, the car wakes up and it feels like a brand-new vehicle. I just like having the data available to view but you can tune and then throw the device into the closet when your done. Hope that helps 👍🏽
      They also make a smaller unit that doesn’t have a screen that can plug into just the data port. It’s hidden, you can still capture information if you like that sort of thing and it’s much cheaper. If you buy a ktuner 3rd party used, just make sure it’s been unlocked or unpaired the previous users car. Make them show you the unlock notification screenshot from the software. I chose ktuner because of the power they claim was slightly more then hondata and they also include the touchscreen device for less then hondata‘ price.
      You can find a Version 2 unit brand new for $649 or a Version 1.2 new for $449.
      V2 comes with a touchscreen unit that runs your telemetry real time on the unit. (Used $500 online - forums/eBay)
      V1.2 does not have a screen but you can connect it via Bluetooth to any android device and download tunerview to get the same data real time. (Used $350 online - Forum/eBay)
      For the 1.5T you can expect 55whp added with stage 2. Stages 1 and 2 are free to upload/download anytime once you purchase a ktuner unit. That amount of power is really amazing for these cars. My 2.0T gained an 80whp increase according to ktuner and you can feel it. You’ll find most tuners are comfortable with ktuner and hondata so it’s really a user preference as to what you want to pay for but both units do the job. I just found ktuner to be more of my style. I would absolutely recommend ktuner as the first mod anyone gets hands down.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports

      Hanntan - Modifying or overriding the factory ECU can void your warranty. However, this tune can be replaced back with the stock factory calibration at any time. When I get my oil changed, I convert back to stock just in case.
      I haven’t come across anyone who’s been in trouble or have their warranty void because of this product. Just be smart with it, don’t roll into the dealership with the KTuner tune loaded and the touchscreen mounted. Lol

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      DEMON-ized BEAST - Honestly they both do the same thing. It’s tuner vs tuner. Both provide a device to deploy there custom tune into your vehicle. Both make claims on HP and Tq, both work extremely well. I chose KTuner because it had a slightly higher HP and Tq rating, the have a 3 power options available with a simple click of a button and lastly they provide you with a touchscreen tuner that displays real time data. All of this is cheaper then Hondata.
      You’ll have people from both sides making wild claims about each other but personally I’m very happy with the results and I’m sure the Hondata guys are as well. This car comes alive with the stage 2 tune.
      Only cons I have so far is this tune does mess with your chances of losing the manufactures warranty. But modifying any new car certainly increases those chances.
