    I definitely agree on the cvt. Just picked up my a spec without tech last week and i absolutely love it. The cvt isnt bad at all and the car just effortlessly glides on town roads, county roads and highways all the same. And if you put the transmission in S and use the paddle shifters the transmission does a great job at holding ratios definitely gives it a decently engaging feel. They are absolutely fun cars to drive in any configuration. Even as a car and motorcycle enthusiast who has driven manual for many years i still find the cvt amazing.

    Even though it's not tuned the same way, or as soon I'm sure, I daily drive a 2018 Accord Sport with the 1.5 Turbo/ CVT combo. 83,000 city miles in bumper to bumper traffic with some highway, and never gave me any issues. Keeping it for the long haul. I prob need to change the fluid soon, but I love the way the CVT drives, even as good as a regular automatic. This is a good powertrain, I'd prefer a manual any day, but I'm happy with the CVT... Did I mention 37MPG in MIXED driving, according to my Trip A that has logged over 3,000 miles. Cant complain, pump 87 gas into it, and call it a day!

    I drove a manual in Europe for years and I wanted something more relaxing, the automatic CVT in this car is amazing for me 😁 has just enough power to get around and have a bit of fun while getting great gas mileage

    Honda CVT’s really aren’t bad.. They’re not the most fun thing to drive, but definitely not bad. I think it’s Nissan who gave CVT’s as a whole a bad rep

    I have a 2023 with the CVT. It's perfectly fine, in fact it's tuned better than the CVT I had in my 2018 Accord Sport. That CVT was not good in my opinion, it was the only weak link in the car.

    did not know the tech package came in a automatic 😮👍

    The automatic does draw criticism in the CVT because loss of "fun" factor. It depends on the driver I guess

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure bro. But for the “average person” it’s fine. For the enthusiast, definitely not fine. But for 80% of people it’s totally acceptable.

    It’s such a great car all around. If a MT or “spirited driving” is not your thing, I can think of more than just a few people that would love this car and setup.
    Out of curiosity, do you see more CVTs or 6MTs leave the dealership?

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      When they were first released, we sold way more manual models. People wouldn’t even test drive the CVT when they came looking for the 6 speed. As time went on, Acura started producing less 6 speeds so naturally now we sell more CVT’s. But we still get more interest (calls, inquiries) on the 6 speed.

      @@HKN_RealReviews interesting. I was hoping the manuals would make a comeback and outsell the automatics!

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zalden2565 if there were more being produced, they’d definitely outsell the automatic. They did at first for sure. But now they’re producing/sending less manuals. And for some reason there are a ton of regular A-Specs in the Apex Blue and Orchid combo. Very strange stuff happening in Marysville, OH.

    Hey! It’s been a while! What is your opinion on the 2023 Acura TLX? Is the S type worth it? I currently love my 2022 Acura MDX A-spec, and I want to get my Mom a new car.❤

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What’s up Veronica! Definitely been a long time. The TLX is a great car and the Type-S is pretty special. The problem with the Type-S is that they don’t offer it with the Advance package. So no 360 camera, no head up display, no fog lights, & no heated rear seats. So if you want those things, mom will have to get a TLX Advance which is now standard with SH-AWD. If she doesn’t care and wants the V6, the added power, the noise, & just having something a little extra special, then yes the Type-S is worth it. There’s a little over $5k in price difference which some might consider marginal for the performance upgrades.

    If this car had the 8spd dct that my 2020 ilx have then I would definitely trade my current car in but Idk what tf was Acura thinking with a Cvt such a lazy move!

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were thinking production costs my man. Much easier (cheaper) to take a proven reliable transmission and recycle it from Honda. The 1.5T has never been hooked up to the 8 speed DCT. They would have to spend money in R&D and also be forced to warranty it if anything went wrong once on the road. Too much risk from a business side. But it’s still lazy as hell bro, not doubt. If they wanted to they could’ve been testing the 1.5t with the 8 speed while they had that ridiculously long run of the ILX. Could’ve been perfect by the time the Integra was released. But I also assume it was for fuel economy reasons. But again, if they wanted to, they could’ve made it possible.

    Quit capping …. You know the type S is better and worth the $52k if cheaper you want everyone driving a Type S integra ?
