Emma and Tinna from ALL ENDS (Sonic and the Black Knight) Infinite feat Tyler Smyth and Andy Bane from Dangerkids (Sonic Forces) The ones I have listed took inspiration from different eras and genre's of metal like Nu Metal, Industrial Metal, 80s Heavy Metal, Alternative Metal, and Metalcore. Frontiers is the first game that fully embraced the metal world taking inspiration from Djent and Modern Metalcore and not just dabbling in the metal world like previous games. It's a big W for the metal community.

If we're talking about classic heavy or hard rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, then yes there was a difference, but somewhere in the mid to late 80s that line started to blur a little bit as heavy rock bands would cross over into metal and vice versa. It became even more like that during the 90s and early 2000s. So you could count some of the ones I listed as Heavy Rock or count them as Metal. It's sorta up to interpretation at that point. Although both This Machine and Infinite are straight up metal. This Machine taking inspiration from Industrial Metal (as both Amir Derkah and Ryan Shuck of Julien-K came from the Industrial Metal band Orgy) and Infinite taking inspiration from Metalcore (Dangerkids is a metalcore band so it makes sense).
