More like the era before Colors. Because the games after 06 still had good stories. People just never gave them a chance. Secret Rings was mediocre, Rush Adventure was more Sonic Rush so it was good, Unleashed is now considered one of the best games in the series, and Black Knight is ready under rated because most people judge it based the fact that sonic has a sword and nothing else.
Crush 40 is thankfully still there, only a bit less from what I’ve noticed. Atleast we got the 30th Anniversary Symphony, which was pretty damn awesome.

Let's be serious for a moment. We all know the Shadow the Hedgehog had an amazing soundtrack just like almost all Sonic games of that time.Nothing against Infinite's theme really, but Shadow did the Edge much better.
I like the "black-hearted evil, brave-hearted hero" line. Good way to connect a song to the gameplay, considering the fact that you can make choices that decide who shadow becomes at the end (even though it has a true ending, so none of it matters)

The lyrics in this song actually has a lot of clever writing to it. Every time Shadow's theme is saying 'I Am-- I AM', in the Bible God referred to himself sometimes as I am. In other words, Shadow was calling himself a god. Which fits some of his other tunes pretty well.

The multiple stories were kinda eh for me, but yeah it was pretty fun
Controls were great but the mission system was ass.
