This gave you chills and you don't even know the story. Imagine if you understood all the backstory and plots. I've been playing Wow since 2006 and all of these still give me chills no matter how many times I see them. Great video!
It's kind of a meme in the blizzard community that blizzard is the best 3D cinematic studio out there, and they should just drop the gaming gimmick and just do movies.
There's so much context missing if you only watch the fully rendered cinematics and not the in game cutscenes, but it's always a genuine thrill to see people react to them anyway. Especially the earlier ones because people look at the first one for example and don't fully realize that came out in 2004 and still holds up to brand new games, quality wise 20 years later.
Its actually more impresive if cinematics can make such reaction even without knowing context. Like he dont know who is king Varian but look how he hyped him 28:25 😂 ..."Preserve that shit!!!"🤣
About the third cinematic (the guy in full plate armor in ice summoning a dead dragon), he is Arthas. The voice narrating the video is his father, a human king talking like if he was speaking with the young prince Arthas. This Arthas was a paladin and a good man in live, but he was so obsessed to help his people against some evil that he corrupted his own soul in desperation for that, becoming a death knight and later one the Lich King himself (lord of the dead, that you see in the video). When he came back to his realm, he assassinated his own father in the throne, thats why the last words of the video are "when my time has come to the end, you shall be king".... well... the lich king. This paladin has fallen because he let his emotion get the better of him. Arthas is like the Anakin Skywalker going Dark Side in the Warcraft universe.
@@shruikan64I mean technically he literally didn’t, the only thing he did that was sorta wrong was the culling of Stratholme. Everything after he got the blade wasn’t Arthas’s doing
@@blockedperfection9278 why do you think the culling of stratholme was wrong? so, in his position, you have 2 options. option 1: do what arthas did, kill all the undead who will later fortify and start attacking you. also kill all the living people who will become undead(remember, he may have actually saved their souls there. when you become an undead, your soul is damned and while you are an undead with no free will you are experiencing horrors you are doing without actually having the power to stop it. if they realized what was going to happen to them they would have begged arthas to kill them). option 2: do nothing and just leave. the undead fortify, the living you could have mercifully killed also become undead and add to their numbers. so, not only did you lose a battle this way, you also damned all those who were still living to a life of undeath. if jaina and uther werent complete cowards, not being able to do what was necessary, arthas also wouldnt feel betrayed by his mentor and the love of his life and wouldnt become the lich king. he went mad because the people who were the closest to him betrayed him.
@@Jakac55 Never really saw it that way, I guess maybe it wasn’t as bad as I assumed so before, But it still sucks that it had to happen in the first place
It was a no win scenario, and worse, it was absolutely useless. He did not prevent a single soul from Strat from being raised in undeath. He did not even delay it. Not really. They were all waiting there for him to come back corrupted and be raised as his new army. All he did was break his soul and alienate his closest friends over an atrocity. But, again, it was an absolute no-win scenario. Either he fell, or Mal'Ganis used the undead to devastate Lordaeron@@Jakac55
The blonde young king is the son of the other kind in the previous cinematic that was in an airship. He became the king after his father's death while fighting demons.
You should watch the in game prerendered cinematics for Shadowlands (for context about the later ones) and newest ones for the latest 2 expansions, Dragonflight and The War Within!
the dude in the armor in the last cinematic isnt the same guy in the third cinematic for wrath of the lich king. The original guy was named arthas. he was defeated and this new guy "bolvar" wore the crown because there always has to be a lich king to keep the scourge (undead) in check. The original lich king arthas wouldve spanked her
Best Horde Warcry Voiceline in Warcraft franchise tbh. Even if you don't personally like Sylvanas, you have to agree that voiceline is EPIC af especially compared to For The Alliance by Anduin. I have it play for lust in WoW with an addon to pump dmg lol.
maaaan seeing all the cinematics at once just made me realize that our game has come a long way, from my first feral druid created in 2008 to this day... what a journey
i wish i had to play it 2008, but i was maybe 6 there :'D started with wotlk! best journey i had in my childhood!! my childhood was shit and WoW got my life to different hights :P
Certainly not much else to play for lol. Also what to this guy talking about 'realistic graphics' lol. I get 'not cartoony'. But FFXIG is NOT realistic graphics.
The Original Lich King was killed, the "Fire" Lich King took his place when he was killed so that the helm had a host or else the scourge would roam free. Also fun fact, Arthas was the original one to kill Sylvanas which is why she's that way now. The young prince Anduin isn't the son of Arthas, but the son of Varian Wrynn the king who was looking at this compass with his sons photograph. If you are a lore person I'd highly recommend this game or at least the books
One thing - Sylvanas is not a demon, she is undead. She was killed by Arthas and "reanimated" as banshee under control of the Lich King, like all the other undead people, but at one moment Lich King weakened and lot of undead returned control for themselves, and Sylvanas became a queen of them and they joined the Horde. And yeah, this is in short.
Basicly the Lich King from the first cinematic was a diffrent much more powerful guy that killed her and nearly wiped her Kingdom. Then raised her as a Banshee for pissing him off by talking big during his invasion. The new Lich King is an old Veteran that was burned and lacks the og Lich Kings powerful sword that turned him into a Demi god. Also Sylvanas got written into a mary sue who got a pact with some death god who basicly is the reason she could block Saurfang (The old orcs) strikes and one shot him after. As well as manhandle the much much weaker new Lich King who put on the crown to keep the Army of undead under control. As the crown booth provides you with multiple powers but also gives you control over any undead if you choose to dominate them. Sylvanas was resistant due to her death god pact. Any regular undead including the sentient ones of the horde the crown can dominate and control if close enough.
Also remember the reason she did what she did was because she was under the control of the Jailor. Once she realized all that she had done when the Jailor no longer had control over her later she felt the pain of her actions and accepted whatever fate Tyrande deemed fit.
@@DerpDiggler I guess I missed the part where her will was taken by the Jailer. I was under the assumption that she was just following her own logic by creating a war where the goal wasn't to win or lose, but to create as much death as possible so that the forces of the maw could raise an army large enough to take on the Void and Titan forces that Zoval was anticipating
Always great to see new people watching these for the first time. And yes, LOL, Sylvanas' infamous "...wait, was my mic on?" moment. Love her guard's reaction.
Till this day, I can watch the Burning Crusade cinematic and I will WITHOUT FAIL have goosebumps up and down my arms at Illidan's voice lines. So much so, that my late cat I had in high school ('07 or whatever) was named Illidan. "YOU. ARE. NOT. PREPARED!" Just wanted to add: finished up the video and your reactions were awesome, man! Thoroughly enjoyed your commentary and your insight on the lore without hardly knowing anything about it. Got a like and a sub from me! Well done, friend!
4:40 fun fact, Azeroth is just a renamed version of Azatoth (H P Lovecraftian old god). Blizz is known for basically just taking shit they like from EVERYWHERE else and change it SLIGHTLY
Just fyi, The Lich King in the last trailer is a different person from the earlier one. There's basically this "there must always be a Lich King" thing, so someone had to sacrifice their soul to replace the evil LK and become the new one
the lich king in the last cinematic was not the same one you saw earlier. he was the guy's successor. although, if you ask me, "king" is a bit of a stretch for the successor
@@ZakhadWOW and yet he did so very little with them that Sylvanas was able to just walk in. In the words of Swain from LoL: "Having a throne doesn't make you a ruler. It only means you have an ass." or something like that. Crown, throne or no, if the most you're willing to do is sit there and do basically nothing while your lands dwindle to such an extent, you're not a king. Only a complacent fool.
If u wanna see more of this you should check the animated shorts that have some stories about the world, burdens of shao hao, lords of war and harbringers
Sylvanas just opened the world up to the otherside. Shadowlands is where we go when we die. She's working for someone. Go find the newest, the one for The War Within and see what THAT cinematic is like.
the lich king from the third cinematic is not the same guy as the last. in the last cinematic sylvanas does say a usurper sits on the throne. the previous lich king was killed, and someone else burned by the red dragons took his place(hence he is fire and ice).
The Battle for Azeroth has so many cinematics, because it is when they started to make them for in-game events and not just trailers, I mean those rendered cinematics. There are many more in-game cinematics in the game engine.
This left off a pretty important cinematic that tells you how the lich king (arthas) dies and who that fiery guy at the end is. To fully understand that part I think you should watch "Wrathgate" and "The fall of Arthas Menethil and the crowning of Bolvar". They were both made using upscaled in-game models from Wrath of the Lich King, so they look very old compared to the rest of the ones you've just seen, you will also see who narrated the third cinematic in this compilation in the latter of the two. This compilation also cuts off at intro to Shadowlands, leaving all of Shadowlands and Dragonflight to be seen.
There is still some expansions after the one you watched last. After "Shadowlands" theres the current expansion named Dragonflight, which also have its own cinematics.
Omg I loved this, you gave me a bit of the joy of originally seeing them. You guessed so many things well and also missed so much story outside the scenes that I think you would have loved. I’ve legit cried over deaths in this damn game
the third one (with Arthas) its super cool when you realise, the older guy talking is Arthas's dad (who was the King) and its him talking about his son a long time ago. It was a father talking to his son, giving him advice on how to be a king. And yet the words he says to his son, apply now, years later, but in a different sense.
Just Imagine how powerful these cinematics were for people who have played since the beginning of the game. I legit cry every time. These are characters we've fought with for LITERAL years. I'm super enjoying seeing them again through fresh eyes! Ty!! And you were right....The LORE is WHY we keep coming back to play.
So, The old Orc that died against Lady Sylvanas was called High Overlord Saurfang. One of the greatest war heroes of the Horde. He has faught in so many wars. Of course they would let him be buried in Orgrimmar (The Horde's capital city)
Since I don't see anyone else in the comments explaining this, I figured I would. In the last Battle for Azeroth cinematic, High Overlord Saurfang, the orc that was so prominent in all the BFA cinematics, issued a challenge of Mak'Gora to Sylvanas, which started as an orc tradition of a trial by combat to decide leadership, which was adopted into the Horde itself, as the orcs were the main reason why the Horde was created in the first place, Saurfang was challenging Sylvanas for the right to lead the Horde. The thing is, Mak'Gora is a test of purely physical prowess, meaning the use of magic is not allowed, so while the things Sylvanas said certainly didn't help her case, just the fact that she killed Saurfang with magic means that she was disqualified, and Saurfang named the leader. There is no coming back from the violation of the sacred rite of Mak'Gora, and the Horde will likely always see Sylvanas as someone without honor, who is undeserving of the title of Warchief of the Horde, hence why she kinda just took off after she killed Saurfang.
Actually there is no rule that says magic is forbidden. She took off after saying the HORDE was nothing. The rules vary with participants. Again magic was never said to be forbidden. Thrall lost his touch to the elements for using deadly power due to having changed the rules for the duel by being non-lethal..he broke his own principles, thus the elements considered him dishonorable.
This is a commonly held belief but current lore has no actual prohibition of magic in Mak'Gora. What would be the point? If one was the mightiest shaman across all orcs, why shouldn't they be able to use the power of the elements against, let's say, a warrior (who specialices in melee combat)? Imo it makes no sense to ban magic in Mak'Gora.
It’s a pity that you can’t say the same about other teams. All the people who led that part of the story and gameplay almost all no longer work for Blizzard. Those who remain either do not respect their work or are simply beginners. However, the Blizzard company itself treats them equally, equally badly. In general, what should be expected from a company that is in the top among the most toxic and massively fires its employees even after a SUCCESSFUL game
so many of the cinematics are just gold. The " you are not prepared!" from Illidan still gives me chills on the arms. WotlK... everything King Menethil says and seeing the opposite, man it strikes a cord. Zappy talking about the gain and Saurfang talking about the loss gives chills to the skull. Saurfang disserved more in WoW, even though Blizz gave him the heroes death he craved for so long. Blizz needs to give Eitrigg a more important role now... and probably a heroes death. Some of these cinematics made my cry. BfA's storytelling is awesome. the cinematics are way more than gold. So much put the characters and the emotions, the backgrounds and expressions. Saurfang is just the ultimate boss.. "So, this is home now..?" looking around and a shitty place, grain that turns to dust.. Sarcastic ass :D One moment Saurfang can make you weep, Saurfang can encourage you, bolster you.. but Saurfang also can hurt you with all the pain that is in his heart and the sacrifice he made. Saurfang is the ultimate Orc. Never been a Warchief, but has all the traits a Warchief should have. As a human even... Fight for what you believe in but NEVER sacrifice your honor, be willing to sacrifice, never back down, look at the big picture (like when Thrall says many lives be lost and he says: Or maybe just one....) 51:51 "that is a sword sword" My guy, notice he is carrying a 2handed axe AND the sword. Saurfang is a legendary legend warrior. This whole family of Orcs is very respectable and legendary, in a lesser state his son who never really had the chance to become of the same status as his father and uncle. 56:46 it is not too funny.... the guy gave his life to expose the cheat Sylvannas is. He saved hundreds if not thousands lives by giving his own. Thrall was the old Warchief. Ofc they won't deny them entry into the city, even if the new Alliance King is with them. The Hordes see that the Ally King chose the side of Saurfang while they stuck with Sylvie... They are embarrassed as is...In perspective, when Michiel de Ruyter died and was transported back to the Netherlands enemies saluted. The is the stature he had... Saurfang is awesome and should have at least a statue if not a city named after him (we got Grom'gol after all after Grom and Grom's blood). Saurfang demanded respect so ofc they won't deny him. Nothing funny about that
Love seeing peoples reactions to the cinematics. People don't realize just how massive the lore side of WoW actually is. I think there are now 30 novels.
The worst part, is that Sylvanas was working with some power hungry god of death, to basically send every dead soul to him. So no, Saurfang *didn't* get to see his son. Also, side note: Arthas was beaten in Wrath of the Lich King. So the guy at the end who is the current Lich King is a different character.
In the Shadowlands cinematic it was not Arthas as the Lich King. He would have killed her in a duel but Bolvar is the current Lich King and he is much weaker.
You missed the last one. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and if you was waiting a couple of weeks, there will be another one for sure, for the next expansion, that is highly probable, it is going to be announced on Blizzcon in the first days of November. Also, even if not cinematics, there are a couple of video that could explain the main ones. Bolvar's clip, and Arthas Death's, also the Young Orc dieng in Bolvar's clip, He is the son of Saufang, the Old Soldier.
This was so cool to see you watch through all of these and catch everything that you caught story-wise. You've got to react to the latest cinematic! "The War Within"
also the guy in the last cinematic isnt actually arthas the lich king. Its bolvar the lich king. After we (the players) killed arthus back in that expansion, it was revealed that there must always be a lich king, since the lich king managed all these undead in this place. So theres this guy called bolvar whos like an alliance hero and he just got burnt by a dragon and we thought he was dead, and he shows up las tminute and is like "ill be the lich king" so its him, not arthus
Yo this was lit, I've been waiting for this. You should check out the 3 warbringers videos from world of warcraft too. They're really good and one of them shows some more back story on Sylvanas.
As much as I'm a fan of the Dragons of WoW, knowing what I do about the Daedric Princes ... it'd probably be a rather uneven fight. Now the Titans on the other hand ...
@@theuone8828well if I'm not mistaken the Daedra are more powerful than the aedra, and even knowing that, Dagon was defeated by an avatar of Akatosh. So that begs the question is a fully empowered Aspect at least strong enough to compare to an avatar of Akatosh? Neltharian might be. The game doesn't exactly do the dragon aspects justice in my opinion. Now if i switched it up and instead of an Aspect set the fight up with an Old God. That would be interesting.
I'm an OG WoW player, really enjoyed your reaction. I'm also with you on the Elder Scrolls. I like WoW but I'm a huge Elder Scrolls fan. As I like to say, I love absolutely everything about ESO except playing it. I'm sure that makes no sense to people to who don't play ESO but I think a lot of long term ESO players feel me lol.
So… observations. 1: The WoW universe is…. WAY stronger than the ESO universe. There are a lot of shit in WoW that the ESO universe legitimately can’t handle. 2: In the Wrath of the king king Cinematic. That is Arthas menethil. He is very white. VERY white. 3: In the Shadowlands Cinematic… That is Bolvar Fordragon. The “new” Lichking. And generally agreed as being much weaker than Arthas. 4: Shadowlands is overall terrible lorewise and should not be taken seriously. 5: There is ONE more cinematic you did not watch. The Dragonflight cinematic. The latest expansion.
Warcraft will crack the TES universe in half. Daedric princes is as high as it gets in TES, while Warcraft has Titans, N'aru, Old Gods, Void Lords and scariest of all - *adventurers.* Dear lord the adventurers
I saw the thumbnail for your react video here, ordered pizza and settled in for the ride. Love people reacting to these and love how animated your reactions are.
So, for those who don't know the story, Sylvannus Windrunner was the War Chief of the Horde and her powers? She's a banshee, and ridiculously powerful, and at the time, arguably the most powerful alive on Azeroth at the time. The person she beat was the Lich King yes, but it was a different person who became the Lich King after the other person was defeated. The person there is Highlord Bolvar Fordragon. After the last Lich King, Arthas Menathil, was defeated, Bolvar picked up the Crown of Domination (that's the helm Sylvannus broke), and he put it on because, there must always be a Lich King. The Lich King is who keeps the dead under control, and if no one wears the crown, all of Azeroth will be overrun with the dead, and the reason why Bolvar is fire like that, is because he survived being consumed by dragon's fire. It didn't kill him. It changed him. As for the Crown of Domination it also does something else - it's the keystone that holds the veil between the land of the living and the land of the dead in place so they are separate. What Sylvannus did was break the crown, and therefore breaking the veil between life and death. She's literally trying to unmake the entire world. The entirety of the battle for Azeroth is actually her story. As for the other characters, Saurfang is the horde general. He leads the armies of the Horde. The other orc he's talking to was the former War Chief of the Horde, Thrall... and he's not actually a warrior. He's a shaman and he's actually a beast and when I think about it, probably the only one at the time that might have been powerful enough to stop Sylvannus if it came to it, but he grew tired of war and left. The two kings... In the beginning the king was Varian Wrynn. That's the old man. In the rest of it, that was indeed his son, Anduin. And the sword he's carrying? That wa his father's sword, Shalamayne, and it too has a story of it's own. But understand, World of Warcraft picked up after the 3rd standalone game, Warcraft 3, sort of. There's SO MUCH history and lore behind it, you HAVE to play it and quest through to get all of it, and even then, as someone who's been playing for YEARS, even I still don't have all of it. PS: I love elder scrolls too.
ESO has some AMAZING housing that i wish WoW had, and better guild/community setup. That said, WoW has much more fun content, particularly now in Dragonflight expansion, WAY less aggressive monetization, and is much easier to just pick up and go from a new user standpoint, in addition to the sheer amount of content to slog through if you want. Big events like Blizzcon help bring the community together, and the cartnooney art style coupled with regular updates keep things from feeling too aged, compared to ESO's severe restrictions on new models and such due to hardware limitations on old consoles. Don't get me wrong, really do like ESO, but by no means should WoW being older than it put you off from playing.
54:36 the context of why banner girl gave the side eye is bc the forsaken (sentient undead) have an almost religious devotion to spooky eyebrow lady, she's basically their Moses. The second part is the Horde is basically found family, each all those races banned together for mutual protection. The Horde took the forsaken in when no one else would.
It's wild to watch these... I don't feel old until I realize I've been playing Warcraft, in general, since 1994.10 years later World of Warcraft came out and now almost 20 years later, I still play.
56:20 Saurfang was the NPC stood just inside of that gate of Ogrimmar the horde capital city. Alliance's raid party for invading the city wasn't easy, because of him. 60 level elite warrior NPC killed countless alliance player characters on that site. This trailler was proper dedication for his life, I think.
With BFA you can clearly see how good cinematics can bring new players. Dude didnt know a sh.t about the lore and got hyped up. Blizzard need to change the way they present new stories to players. They need to use Dragonflight ingame cinematics and Cgi to keep the player entertained.
For context: Warlords of Draenor takes place in an alternate universe on the world of Draenor, the original home world of the orcs, prior to its destruction and the creation of Outland which is the setting in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. A major character of the previous WOW games goes back in time with the help of a time dragon and changes history by preventing his father from drinking the blood of the demon lord, which originally led to the orc's corruption and subjugation by the Burning Legion and played a major role in the events of the first three Warcraft games. This creates an alternate timeline that collides with the main game as the orcs in this new timeline seek to concur the original world.
Context: the Lich king (The guy that summoned the icy death dragon) was defeated in that expansion and another dude took his place so that all the dammed dead would have a master that could control them instead of just running rampant. The guy taking the crown (which holds the power to control the dead) was burned by a dragon but survived and that is why he is fire and not ice anymore... and he is WAY less powerfull then Arthas ever was.
Ive been playing since burning crusade and bro... these videos STILL give me the chills. You dont even know the LORE behind these cinematics either. Also, you are a FUNNY guy 😂 I enjoyed this video. First video I seen from your channel.
The world building of WoW is pretty fantastic. The art, the music, everything. I love the novels and the game. And while the game play graphics aren't as movie-quality as the cinematics, they are still pretty awesome and there are more in-game cinematics that are sprinkled throughout. I've been playing since Burning Crusade (on and off for several years but mostly on since Battle for Azeroth) and even now I'll still grab one of the novels just to re-read and enjoy the lore.
What you missed, is in Legion, big man with the swords died, he was betrayed by the banshee queen, Sylvanas. He left everything to his son. Also, there are soooo many cinematic trailers that you're missing out on. Each expansion has a bunch of different ones for each patch release.
Love this, a joy to watch your reaction to these! And yeah, it's been an AGE for this game. Back in the old days (elder millennial here), one MMO stood out for a few years, and that was Everquest. Blizzard did want to join on that success but found players had different ideas of what gameplay was fun. You're right with the lore, this MMO had an established one with the original strategy games and ended up focusing more on quests. They leaned more towards the casual gamer when still many games, non-MMO included, wanted a "hardcore" reputation. Which there are things for those type of players, WOW made sure there was something for everyone to enjoy. I think it has been a good factor to their success, that no matter when you start playing or out of it for some time, it is not difficult to get to end game content and join in on those big features and not feel left behind. So it's okay, come and play! I started back at the end of Burning Crusade, took a break during Warlords of Draenor and came back into Legion when a lot of the UI and class changes happened, the learning curve wasn't big. I do recommend for "testing the waters" to try a Druid as that class can do all roles, makes it easier to get a feel for what your play style will be. And times continue to change, beforehand you maybe focused on or two characters, and now they're trying to make it easier for multiples. Currently, the goal is to respect the players' time. The story is back on track, so it is looking like WOW will be going strong for several years to come.
Sylvannus breaking the Helm of Danmnation was such a shock to all of us. When you put on the Helm, you become the Lich King/Queen and command the undead. She was already in a streak to ruin most of the worth at this point so we thought "Ah shit she's gonna become the lich queen and we're gonna have to kill her." But nah she broke that shit sending the entire world of Azertoth into chaos
In the Shadowlands cinematic, Sylvanas is boosted by the power of The Jailer, who is basically a God presiding over The Maw, World of Warcraft's version of "Hell." So in that fight against Lich King (Bolvar) , she had the Jailers chains to assist in the fight, which definitely tipped the scales ultimately in her favor. BONUS POINTS: When she rips the Helm of Domination into pieces, she shatters the barrier between The Maw and Azeroth. It's pretty wild shit. There's so much backstory and stuff, I think the lore is both silly and cheesy but also pretty cool. P.S. Warlords of Draenor is probably the cinematic that requires the most context to fully understand. Basically, that cinematic shows the scene where Gul'dan tempts the orcs into drinking Demon Blood. However, the expansion took place in an alternate version of Draenor (the alien planet that Orcs originally came from.) where the orcs refuse the offer. It's a pretty weird "Multiverse" story before those were popular, and kinda violates the lore of the Bronze Dragonflight but whatever.
Arthas Lich King has been killed in the end of WotLK, in Shadowlands its Bolvar Fordragon, the guy who sat on the frozen throne after Arthas just to control all of the rest undeads with no harm to others
Drazu, I could hardly wait for your reaction to Mists of Pandaria and your utterly gobsmacked "Its a panda!" was priceless, every bit as good as the fighting or & human in the cinematic 😅
its honestly great that you recognised king Anduin from the little boy photo (yes he was that dudes son 😂) and when dude side eyed her when she said they was nothing, as a player I was like “oooo shes fucked up now” but i lol’d at your reaction because its basically the same “the fuck did you just say” 😂😂

option 1: do what arthas did, kill all the undead who will later fortify and start attacking you. also kill all the living people who will become undead(remember, he may have actually saved their souls there. when you become an undead, your soul is damned and while you are an undead with no free will you are experiencing horrors you are doing without actually having the power to stop it. if they realized what was going to happen to them they would have begged arthas to kill them).
option 2: do nothing and just leave. the undead fortify, the living you could have mercifully killed also become undead and add to their numbers. so, not only did you lose a battle this way, you also damned all those who were still living to a life of undeath.
if jaina and uther werent complete cowards, not being able to do what was necessary, arthas also wouldnt feel betrayed by his mentor and the love of his life and wouldnt become the lich king. he went mad because the people who were the closest to him betrayed him.
I love the reaction to the "Criminal Offensive Side Eye" XD
You should watch the in game prerendered cinematics for Shadowlands (for context about the later ones) and newest ones for the latest 2 expansions, Dragonflight and The War Within!
I hate Sylvanas and I've generally primarily played alliance, but her For the Horde will never not give me chills xD
the dude in the armor in the last cinematic isnt the same guy in the third cinematic for wrath of the lich king. The original guy was named arthas. he was defeated and this new guy "bolvar" wore the crown because there always has to be a lich king to keep the scourge (undead) in check. The original lich king arthas wouldve spanked her
28:40 had me crackin' the fuck up 😂😂. The way you got so into it and screamed 😂 omg bro
6:24 "Bro just sprayed crystal meth in the water." Bruh, shit got me weak 😂😂😂
Every time Sylvanas screams and turn in to the Banshee and yells “For The Horde!” I get goosebumps.
Same with "For The Alliance!" by Anduin. This cinematic is a masterpiece
and yet she said "The horde is nothing!" xD
King Varian is a badass, the legion trailer always gives me chills
maaaan seeing all the cinematics at once just made me realize that our game has come a long way, from my first feral druid created in 2008 to this day... what a journey
i wish i had to play it 2008, but i was maybe 6 there :'D started with wotlk! best journey i had in my childhood!! my childhood was shit and WoW got my life to different hights :P
1000000% I play for the lore. I never cried so much for a cinematic before! (Ysera...)
@@atheistbiologist5087I just don't like Final Fantasy and realistic graphics in MMO'S :/
Any regular undead including the sentient ones of the horde the crown can dominate and control if close enough.
more correctly, she is a banshee.
Also remember the reason she did what she did was because she was under the control of the Jailor. Once she realized all that she had done when the Jailor no longer had control over her later she felt the pain of her actions and accepted whatever fate Tyrande deemed fit.
the awakened undead are called THE FORSAKEN
@@DerpDiggler I guess I missed the part where her will was taken by the Jailer. I was under the assumption that she was just following her own logic by creating a war where the goal wasn't to win or lose, but to create as much death as possible so that the forces of the maw could raise an army large enough to take on the Void and Titan forces that Zoval was anticipating
Thank you for being respectful with our precious Gaming Legacy. I`m glad you liked it!
Always great to see new people watching these for the first time. And yes, LOL, Sylvanas' infamous "...wait, was my mic on?" moment. Love her guard's reaction.
That side-long glance was an entire story arc coming into place.
iconic
Till this day, I can watch the Burning Crusade cinematic and I will WITHOUT FAIL have goosebumps up and down my arms at Illidan's voice lines. So much so, that my late cat I had in high school ('07 or whatever) was named Illidan.
"YOU. ARE. NOT. PREPARED!"
Just wanted to add: finished up the video and your reactions were awesome, man! Thoroughly enjoyed your commentary and your insight on the lore without hardly knowing anything about it. Got a like and a sub from me! Well done, friend!
"YOU ARE NOT PREPARED... for this hairball."
There's basically this "there must always be a Lich King" thing, so someone had to sacrifice their soul to replace the evil LK and become the new one
imagine if this man knew anything about arthas, garrosh and guldan or ilidan these cinematics still make me cry till this day
the lich king in the last cinematic was not the same one you saw earlier. he was the guy's successor. although, if you ask me, "king" is a bit of a stretch for the successor
sits on the Frozne THrone, wears the effective crown of the damned/undead, the only way to rule/control them. Thus - King.
@@ZakhadWOW and yet he did so very little with them that Sylvanas was able to just walk in. In the words of Swain from LoL: "Having a throne doesn't make you a ruler. It only means you have an ass." or something like that. If u wanna see more of this you should check the animated shorts that have some stories about the world, burdens of shao hao, lords of war and harbringers
harbingers.. no one is BRinging anything. Big difference in words
Sylvanas just opened the world up to the otherside. Shadowlands is where we go when we die. She's working for someone.
Go find the newest, the one for The War Within and see what THAT cinematic is like.
All these cinematics bring tears and chills to my skin and were still fighting long live wow
WOTLK cinematic still gives me goosebumps.
Man, there is SO MUCH lore throughout all of this, it's a hundred times more epic when you know the story and the timeline.
The fact that you called Sylvanas Windrunner "Shorty" had me LOL'n. XD
the lich king from the third cinematic is not the same guy as the last. in the last cinematic sylvanas does say a usurper sits on the throne. the previous lich king was killed, and someone else burned by the red dragons took his place(hence he is fire and ice).
They actually made it very friendly for new players. There's even a chat system implemented so new players can talk to veteran players.
Thrall lost his touch to the elements for using deadly power due to having changed the rules for the duel by being non-lethal..he broke his own principles, thus the elements considered him dishonorable.
that rule just comes from the movie man, its not in the actual lore
This is a commonly held belief but current lore has no actual prohibition of magic in Mak'Gora. What would be the point? If one was the mightiest shaman across all orcs, why shouldn't they be able to use the power of the elements against, let's say, a warrior (who specialices in melee combat)? Imo it makes no sense to ban magic in Mak'Gora.
No one else was saying it because it's not true. Unless terms are stated before the duel, anything goes.
The Blizzard cinematic team is absolutely incredible
It’s a pity that you can’t say the same about other teams. All the people who led that part of the story and gameplay almost all no longer work for Blizzard.
Those who remain either do not respect their work or are simply beginners. However, the Blizzard company itself treats them equally, equally badly.
In general, what should be expected from a company that is in the top among the most toxic and massively fires its employees even after a SUCCESSFUL game
@@Kagezava Hopefully with Chris Metzen back it might change that side of things. Here's hoping
@@TheBlaert Well, then I hope that the new game will be without microtransactions and Blizzard will be able to hire good writers for the plot
so many of the cinematics are just gold. Nothing funny about that
Your reactions to these cinematics are straight fire. Can't wait to see your reactions to the next expansions Dragonflight and The War Within.
Dragonflight cinematic in boring 0 emotion
Love seeing peoples reactions to the cinematics. People don't realize just how massive the lore side of WoW actually is. I think there are now 30 novels.
The worst part, is that Sylvanas was working with some power hungry god of death, to basically send every dead soul to him. So no, Saurfang *didn't* get to see his son.
Also, side note: Arthas was beaten in Wrath of the Lich King. So the guy at the end who is the current Lich King is a different character.
I’ve been playing wow, since 2005, it has had its ups and downs with the expansions. But I still find the game to be extremely fun.
"The War Within"
My man having a great time with the WoW cinematics. Welcome to the club, they NEVER get old, loved the vid sir!
PLEASE watch the new cinematic trailer for The War Within! THAT trailer alone will show you how BEHIND every other game is
Super fun to watch with you man! Always loved these cinematics.
Bro you had me rolling the whole time, your reactions were immaculate
also the guy in the last cinematic isnt actually arthas the lich king.
Fun fact: Blizzard was using the Pandaren Long before the first Kung Fu Panda movie was made.
"he black? I think he black!" bro Arthas would have been cooler if he was, but he ain't 😔😔😔
Yo this was lit, I've been waiting for this. You should check out the 3 warbringers videos from world of warcraft too. They're really good and one of them shows some more back story on Sylvanas.
My man… there is not a soul or anything … that beats blizzard cinematics. They are top of the food chain.
I'd actually love to see a fight between a Daedric prince and a fully empowered Dragon Aspect. Maybe even a titan.
Holy hell! I quit WoW long ago, but those new story arcs are lit! Holy sjit i been missing out!!
i watched this whole thing at work and was dyinggggg! Love WoW and hope to see more content!~
Your reactions are so fun to watch XD especially the Saurfang story, so great :D glad you enjoyed it
I had a blast watching you react to these! The lore in WoW is awesome!
I'm an OG WoW player, really enjoyed your reaction. I'm also with you on the Elder Scrolls. I like WoW but I'm a huge Elder Scrolls fan. As I like to say, I love absolutely everything about ESO except playing it. I'm sure that makes no sense to people to who don't play ESO but I think a lot of long term ESO players feel me lol.
maaaaaaan i get goosebumps watching these cinematics after all these years.
So… observations.
1: The WoW universe is…. WAY stronger than the ESO universe. There are a lot of shit in WoW that the ESO universe legitimately can’t handle.
2: In the Wrath of the king king Cinematic.
That is Arthas menethil.
He is very white. VERY white.
3: In the Shadowlands Cinematic…
That is Bolvar Fordragon.
The “new” Lichking. And generally agreed as being much weaker than Arthas.
4: Shadowlands is overall terrible lorewise and should not be taken seriously.
5: There is ONE more cinematic you did not watch. The Dragonflight cinematic.
The latest expansion.
I loved your reaction video and I agree the look from that undead woman to the leader who spoke nonsense was incredible.
Drazu: *looks at arthas* I think he’s black!
Arthas: does this mean I get the pass?
Me: xD
Warcraft will crack the TES universe in half. Daedric princes is as high as it gets in TES, while Warcraft has Titans, N'aru, Old Gods, Void Lords and scariest of all - *adventurers.* Dear lord the adventurers
it makes me so happy with zero idea of the lore this man can atleast put some context clues together and figure bits out love it
Wow is incredible... and there is one more expanstion to watch. Also new trailer coming in Nov 2-3 with the next expansion expected. (Blizzcon 2023)
You left out the most important bit, the gameplay is by far superior in terms of pve and pvp.
you are missing dragon flight, gotta watch that one too
Was amazing watching you see this stuff for the first time! I really wish you knew all the story! Gave me chills watching it all again
All the cinematics still give me goosebumps.... what a long amazing trip it has been and still going. .from beginning to the end i will keep playing.
With BFA you can clearly see how good cinematics can bring new players. Dude didnt know a sh.t about the lore and got hyped up. Blizzard need to change the way they present new stories to players. They need to use Dragonflight ingame cinematics and Cgi to keep the player entertained.
Love how the Pandaren is like "I can end you whenever I want. This is child's play."
11:22 that was hysterical when you genuinely said that the king of the frozen throne looked cold lmao
arthas is literally the best villain written in human history.
When tyrande and illidan would be a thing.. this god damn tree wouldve never be burned for sure.
Darth Vader
WoW 2004 opening cinematic is probably one of the best CGI ever made... it's fucking 20 years old and it still looks fantastic
Ive been playing since burning crusade and bro... these videos STILL give me the chills. You dont even know the LORE behind these cinematics either.
Also, you are a FUNNY guy 😂 I enjoyed this video. First video I seen from your channel.
I can't help to tears up to seeing all the them, like it's has been my childhood, my teens and my adult years
I loved watching this. Ive seen these all dozens of times, but watching you get hyped really gave me that energy again!
Loved watching you trip out over WoW! Dude, I am 58, woman- been playing it since it started- “You are NOT prepared”!! LoL
I'd love to know if you ever give it a try! I would totally create a new character and run it with you!
What you missed, is in Legion, big man with the swords died, he was betrayed by the banshee queen, Sylvanas. He left everything to his son. Also, there are soooo many cinematic trailers that you're missing out on. Each expansion has a bunch of different ones for each patch release.
"Bro just sprayed crystal meth in the water" I fucking lost it lol.
In the Shadowlands cinematic, Sylvanas is boosted by the power of The Jailer, who is basically a God presiding over The Maw, World of Warcraft's version of "Hell."
So in that fight against Lich King (Bolvar) , she had the Jailers chains to assist in the fight, which definitely tipped the scales ultimately in her favor.
Drazu, I could hardly wait for your reaction to Mists of Pandaria and your utterly gobsmacked "Its a panda!" was priceless, every bit as good as the fighting or & human in the cinematic 😅
its honestly great that you recognised king Anduin from the little boy photo (yes he was that dudes son 😂)
and when dude side eyed her when she said they was nothing, as a player I was like “oooo shes fucked up now” but i lol’d at your reaction because its basically the same “the fuck did you just say” 😂😂
