Why should I pretend that this thing is able to walk? It's been 63 years after creation of the first robot and they are still making humanoid robots that look like a disabled centenarian hanged on a rope .
No hating or anything but it looks pretty basic compared to Boston Dynamics' robots. Their biped robot walks over snow in a hill without falling, it's amazing to watch.
yes, they said they tried several types of mobility, wheels, etc. Why does it need anything like that in space? Maybe it needs rockets so it can float better?
So stupid to try to make it humanoid. Too high a centre of gravity. Make a quadruped or similar with multiple limbs, but perhaps with the ability to go 2 legged when required and so on. Put eyes on its ass end as well as limbs. Wont be pretty but will useful.
geekphreak Sofia has citizenship in Saudi Arabia she is a woman and is 100% robot. It is ignorant to say that you will not develop professional feelings for a coworker and not treat it like a “hypospray”
Am I the only one who thinks that there is some awkward tension between the reporter and the student? How they can't make eye contact often and use way too many filler words?
Im sure they are both doing the best they can do! Thats completely unnecessary to address and Im sure she never signed up to be on this video, these students are incredibly talented people.
Robots should NOT look like a human ... as they get ... smarter... we need to know we are talking to a person not a robot ... Robots must not have heads that resemble a human in any way !!!!
NASA REALLY COULD USE THE HELP OF (BOSTON DYNAMICS)
There engineers are very much more advanced in this field
That red light in the robot's chest does remind of the robots in "evil mode" in the movie "I, robot". :-)
There are no strings on me
wow

Agent Smith they already have them fully walking m8
Look up the newest videos of Atlas from Boston Dynamics. Shit goes fast.
I love where this is going...without technology ND innovative engineering.. there's no future
If it's a Valkyrie, why doesn't it have wings?
The end goal is Cubix.

Mateo San Anything looks basic compared to BD,they are light years ahead......
To rephrase it
1:17 are there advantages of having this shit versus Boston Dynamics?
I wan't Boston Dynamics and NASA to be in a partnership
Smogan yeah...and I want President Trump and Mr. Obama to be best friends 😉
That woman clearly has a frustration with genders
I hope the lower gravity on Mars and the Moon will help it walk/hop.
BOSTON DYNAMIC ATLAS IS THE BEST.(it can back flip)
She needs a outer harder shield to protect her from sand storm rocks on mars
Why does a space robot need legs?
Bob Thorn Did you watch the video?
yes, they said they tried several types of mobility, wheels, etc. Why does it need anything like that in space? Maybe it needs rockets so it can float better?
Bob Thorn its meant for the surface of mars. Not micro gravity.
Bob Thorn micro gravity robots are physically attached to the vessel. they dont fly around with rockets.
A space robot that doesn't know martial arts isn't a space robot at all.
Why it look like the robot hung itself
Sooooo, NASA did all the advanced robotics engineering, so how are the students contributing again? >_>

idk man i feel like she knows more about this than you...
Dude did you even watch the video?
@@garretthill3810 yes and she sounded stupid af.
@@achira828 her reasoning was dumb.
Through its paces???? It moves like a 130 year old man whats that going to do in space?
it.
winner is HONDA asimo アシモの勝ち
kimjh555 u mean Boston dynamics
Boston D made a better one !!!!
Its a robot so its *it* not *her* or stuff
Her, she?
Ydonkov: and human-like? These are the kind of people that dress their dogs :|
Ydonkov: only by fucking weirdos
Ydonkov Yes and the problem is what? Do you not expect these scientists and engineers to relate with their projects?
True, I agree. Still it seems funny calling a robot tool she so many times ;)
Kleo the women robot XD
"She"? "Her"? You mean, It
Valkyrie can identify with whatever she wants.
who cares :D
That's a good point. We must make sure that they are objects not person that deserve rights.
geekphreak Sofia has citizenship in Saudi Arabia she is a woman and is 100% robot. It is ignorant to say that you will not develop professional feelings for a coworker and not treat it like a “hypospray”
Why is this person referring to the robot as "she"? Just say "it" weirdos.
Am I the only one who thinks that there is some awkward tension between the reporter and the student? How they can't make eye contact often and use way too many filler words?

still Honda Asimo better far than this
Why does a NASA Space exploration robot need to be assigned a gender? Did it get to choose it's gender? How can you tell it's female?
You couldn't tell by the robot's breast? They made the robot a female.
Mostly because it's called "Valkyrie."
did you just assume it's gender
will Chapman What answer do you expect in return to this question?
